Blog Giveaway!

I know my blog has been pretty quiet.  It's because I have pinwheel fever and have been feverishly getting those blocks done.  I am sooo ready to be done with pinwheels.  I'm getting pretty tired of making them.  I have plans to take tomorrow off (I think I'm going to be sick... *wink*) and if all goes well, I will have not a completed top but at least all my blocks will be done.

I wanted to pop in and tell you that Vickie is having a super giveaway, celebrating 700 posts and 1000 followers.  You must go and check it out!

Be back soon!

Opinion Needed

I have been working on a pinwheel wallhanging for my BFF's daughter's 1st birthday. I meant to put it away for now and focus on other stuff needed to be done "now" since the party is not until July but I can't help it. I really like it. And I want to make a pinwheel wallhanging for myself. I think it's going to be in Oh-Cherry-Oh! Anyway....

I had the thought of doing a double border on it. I put on the light blue one which I am happy with and I was thinking of using the white dotted fabric that's in the pinwheels as a wider border to the blue and then quilt and bind it. But I can't decide. I think I kinda like it as is. Just the blue border.

Now, you have to use your imagination when you see the picture... give me your opinion. White border or no white border.

What do you think?

Pinwheel Practice

Two posts in one day. I just have so much to say! I decided that my next quilt for ME ME ME is going to be in pinwheels. Why? I have no idea. I just want to make them. When I first started quilting, I decided that I was going to stick with mostly rectangles and squares. Easy to cut and sew. I really don't like the whole Double Wedding Ring look or stars or what have you. Just a simple block is more my style. But I'm going to venture out of my comfort zone and do pinwheels for myself. And I think I'll make a pinwheel lap quilt for Amelia out of Oh-Cherry-Oh! charms.

I'm a person who will jump right in and get started on a project but I convinced myself that I should probably research and practice since I'm not one to practice. Who needs to practice?? So here are my two practice blocks.

I don't think I did half bad actually. Now I'm ready to get started on my quilt. It's going to be made from this:

LOVE IT! And I don't care that it's really girly and my husband will have to sleep under it. He'll just have to deal with. I'm throwing some Oh-Cherry-Oh! charms in it too because I just want to. I think both Darla and O-C-O go very nicely together. I have to get some solid Kona cotton for my pinwheels. I thinking a soft white, almost cream then I can get started!

That's it for today. More tomorrow.
