number two hundred and eighty
THE BLOODY BUSY WEEK IS FINALLY OVER! and damn, am i glad it is. no more staying back late in school and not eating proper dinners, no more sleeping during lectures during the next day, no more so many other things. for the moment at least.
well, things didn't go out as well as expected. ursa got 4th for cheering and god-knows-what for the sports event. we got (unfortunately) 5th for overall, currently. vjc has six houses. so yeah, i guess there's some major bucking up to do. but what matters is that everybody has put in their best, so a big fuss shouldn't be made over who's first, last, whatnot.
unless we're all people who would rather switch sides to the current reigning champs, or anything other than what they are now.
it's so much easier to break a building apart, especially one that has already started tearing itself up from inside. all it takes is for one or two bugs to ruin the entire structure from within and BAM, anything would be able to take it down.
so the question is, who are the bugs? and what should we do to bugs?
but sometimes, i guess the janitors of the building should find where the bugs breed, and try to nip it in the bud, rather than spend time on stuff that aren't really important.
however, it's also annoying that how a few slacking janitors would cause the wall to crack and crumble. while the others work their ass off to plaster and mend the damage they cause. let's not forget that they might just be part-time janitors. wouldn't that be unfair? tsktsk.
gaaaah, screw that. i'll hang around and play the little game of life, and try to guess who'll do what, and what will happen.
soooooooooooooooo, new week ahead. time to get back on track and pick up from where i've left off.
ciao.
"oh?"
so come on, tell me.

it has been one hell of a week.
i think the main highlight of the week would most definitely be the house comm stuff that spanned almost the entire five days. and counting. it all started at the hall when i was just stoning, and blindly answered "yes" to "do you still want to join house comm?"
and there was the interviewe where i made a complete fool of myself by standing on the second storey overlooking the canteen, plastic top hat on my head and yellow pom-poms in my hands, and shouting, "URSA ROCKS!!!" and doing the talking-with-the-butt stunt that jim carrey is so good at.
i swear i couldn't be more embarassed.
but so far everything has been smooth sailing. including the cheering, despite some hiccups along the way. okay, maybe just one hiccup. well, regarding the hiccup, i think that people who have lost should either shut the hell up, or try to win again. with grace. not by some underhand childish methods such as bitching, or showing of attitude. that is plain unprofessional.
sour grapes. there couldn't be a more apt description to it.
but that's behind me. unless it's brought up again. back to the the topic at hand, well, 4 out of a pool of nominees numbering up to 9+, it's quite a tough fight. but well, since i've already committed to house comm, i guess it's nowhere but all the way ahead or off the highway.
and linkin park is FINALLY releasing their next album. Minutes to Midnight, 15/05/2007. much awaited. it seems that may is the month of months. LP's new album, the used's new album, spiderman3, harry potter5 etc. many things ahead to look forward to.
"which side of me do you think you know?"

"sia la, now all look the same"
got to wear my NEW uniform today. but i'll not be donning it tomorrow because the pants are so baggy i look like some nigga punk. 'cept that i don't wear it THAT low and all. it's at the tailor now for alteration. hopefully i'll get it back by wednesday (pronounced wenz-day, not when-nes-day, mind you).
it's back to be back in vjc. get to see all the faces that i've missed seeing for the past one week. and we have a new and interesting KI teacher, mr yang. who pwned christen for being a smartass during his class. LOL. oh, and i want to make some resolutions for term 2.
(1) Do tutorials right on the day it was given out. If not, one day later is fine. but only one day later.
(2) Listen during lectures more.
(3) Keep resolutions (1) and (2).
there. i feel so good-student-ish. well, it's for the betterment of oneself academically. so i guess it's needed to set resolutions and all. although most people just don't give a shit about it and then just move on with their lives, forgetting the resolutions that they have made.
and there was this article in the newspaper about "EMO". and how "emo" kids like to slit themselves up. kinda STUPID. i mean, who the hell would wanna mutilate themselves? if they wanna feel pain, why not just chop the whole arm off? i bet that's more pain than slitting lil' wee cut across their arms. it just makes them look dumb.
and just a random paragraph because i'm listening to "what if" by lene marlin. it's quite a nice song actually, sweet and all. plus lene's marlin voice is rather good. it goes like this in the chorus "if i said i want you, if i said i need you, if i said i loved you, what would you do?". so i was thinking, IF ONLY it was so easy to get those words out. get what i mean? they can serenade it so easily, but in real life, to say it and really mean in, it's just so hard to do. not because one doesn't mean it, but rather it's just the "getting it out part" that's hard.
and as she sung, "what would you do?". that's another entirely new story altogether.
"turn off the silence"
so come on, tell me.

"oh bugger..."
i just cancelled away the entire march holidays from my calendar on my table. BUGGER, the holidays are almost over.
the march holidays has been kinda fun. started the week off quite slackly. some work here and there, spent most of my time just mucking and bumming around. towards midweek, things started to speed up. meetings and finally camp for the past two days. so i guess it's time to settle down now and get whatever's undone, done.
i was in school (camp) just now, and thinking about how bloody lucky i was to get into vjc. well, i guess i AM damn lucky. afterall, people that scored better than me couldn't get in and here i am with my bum snugly in vjc.
i have to cherish this chance and make good use of it. SERIOUSLY.
time to geekify, nerdify, dweebify myself.

JUBILATIONS, the march holiday begins. i have NO vjc camps, and one AHSNCC camp, so it's kinda relaxing. if you minus away the homework and subjects to revise.
oh, i've been wanting to ask this. while in school, there's lots of talk about being in the adhoc of this, the adhoc of that, adhoc of blahblahblah. they'll say (for example), "i'm in the adhoc for orientation two." or similar to it. so i did a check in dictionary.com for the definition of ad hoc.
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ad%20hocit seems that people are terribly mistaken in their usage of this term. whatever happened to the word "committee"?
"i'm in the for the reason of orientation two"
back to the books for now.
"i look for the streak of white in the blue"

i can hear the screams from coming from a few blocks away. no, nobody's being killed or anything. they're just having a campfire in school.
kids raging with hormones and greasy faces clad in tee-shirts and shorts. together, and noisy.
"give me ONE CLAP! *clap* TWO CLAPS *clap, clap* THREE CLAPS *clap, clap, clap* ok STOP *silence*"
correction: circus performing monkeys raging with hormones and greasy faces clad in tee-shirts and shorts. together, and noisy.
went to NTU's open house today partly because i had time to spare and they were having their open house (DUUH). didn't know that NUS was having their's too, i would've gone there instead. but anyway, it was kinda cool. university is an eye-opener. literally. and it's only two-years (ok, FOUR) away!
but something interesting happened during the HSS (find out what it means yourself) seminar. the seminar-giving-person was commenting on the improvements(?) in the current e.lit syllabus. she said, "look at what you all are studying now! if i could, i would go back in time to study literature again!"
now think. what changes would there be in the then-e.lit syllabus? none, right? so why the hell bother going back to the past to study lit again?
-.-
and she said time passes real fast. one turn of her head and a year would be gone. either that, or she has a really really REALLY big head.

WAHAHAHA I'M STAYING IN VICTORIA JUNIOR COLLEGE!!!!!!serious.
after a terrible two days (one at tjc, the second at home), vjc finally called to accept me back. thanks to my mucking around at home yesterday, i managed to make myself contactable and hence trigger this wonderful chain of events.
delirious with joy? you bet i am. but it's a real pity for those departed, whether from vj to other places, or from other places to other places. well, life's like that. easy for me to say huh? but trust me, i know how it feels and it really sucks. but hey, we'll have to move on eventually.
and it's a joy to see 07S31 back together in full force (ok, minus one). everyone (minus one) made it back! and we had a few new additions to our class. so yeah, it's two years together now.
so today it was back to lessons. thursday's time table, thanks to rachel who told me yesterday when she didnt know i was coming back. or else i would've not brought my pe attire and looked like a fool during pe. lectures and blah, and lots of chinese today. speaking only.
it's good to see familiar faces again, and a relief to know that they've not left. but it's still as, i don't know, annoying (?) to be so close, yet remain worlds apart. if only...so many things. hopefully our realities will overlap, SOMEDAY.
k, back to work now. it's full steam ahead *grin*
"to hell and back. dante, for beatrice"

i wanted to blog at around 3:30pm, but instead, i went to cook myself a packet of instant noodles (tom yum flavour), and watched tv. until now.
posting results are out. like people in africa that can't get food, i couldnt get into vj. based on my oh-so-important o-levels results. but what the hell, there's still APPEAL. and i think appeals are being used to lightly but f that, i'm appealing nonetheless.
at least i'm not like people who BUY their way into school. isn's FEES bad enough? afterall education, or the very basic provision of education, should be free. and there's richass poeple buying their way into schools. wtf.
and not to forget, smartasses that put science stream as their first choice. and arts stream as their second choice. and they got into arts stream. SO SAD YOU LOSERS! *flashed both middle fingers and sneer* it was explicitly said that whoever that attempted the above stunt would get castrated (guy), or uhhh, killed (girl).
kidding. but they would not be posted or transferred to science. which serves them right. now they'll die in the arts stream and other arts student can use their bodies for TSD, or painting or whatever shit they do in arts stream.
you must think that i'm blabbering because i did not get into my desired school and i'm a sore loser, because other poeple got in and i didn't.
well, you're fucking right.
i think.
but ohwell, time to go and have dinner with my soon-to-be-EX-class. goodbye you lovely people. don't tear the class apart without me.
"i'll look like a swamp thing, covered in that mossy garment."
