7.45pm
As the silence wakens,
the heart of a cold november,
lies in the deepest shades of thoughts
Placing down the pen,
Half-written letter, filled with emptiness.
To begin with nothing,
A rendezvous with fullfillment.
Trees
In memory of the trees.
The construction of one entity,
leads to the destruction of another. With the sunken roots, communication,
within itself.
words
The trees are plastic
encased deep in wooden bark.
Transparent leaves,
hanging by the twig.
Down came the zephyr,
majestic like a courtly dance.
Through the eclipse,
between orbiting leaves
overlaying the deepest shades
Stood as the roots they are,
foundation laid to rest.
Side by side, grandeur there is.
Listen to the rustle,
amidst the cluster of,
unheard silence, unspoken beauty.

Cutting for 6 years
For a good 6 years, I've been cutting my own hair. i detest going to the barber for it is a time consumming affair. I don't really like the pristine shave that they gave on my side-burns and back, with those flawless slopes. i prefer to cut my own hair. There's so much fun and satisfaction involved. Of course, starting out is'nt easy. You need to look into the mirror, with your hand coordination to be in the opposite direction. I experienced many mis-coordinated moves initially, ending up with very visible hole patches on my head. I don't give a damn...As i progressed, i began to coordinate better until i don't have to pause and think which direction i have to move whilst looking into the mirror. Now i cut my own hair every three months. I can cut to whichever, whatever style i want. I strongly encourage people to be bold enough to go cut their own hair themselves, because you save alot of cash. You learn useful skills. Your motor skills improves. You become more enlightened. You become happier. And lastly..it's your own hair afterall, take personal responsibility over it.

This is me. That was my hair. This is an old pic. I cut my own hair nowadays. I still like long hair.

bicycle. why i ride
i ride the bicycle because of its sheer simplicity and the elation it provides. It is on a bicycle that i am really living the moment, in connection with each pedal stroke, with the secondary connection being the surface that i'm on, that transforms into movement and speed, bringing me places. I am one with the bike. The faint hum of the rolling tires on tar on a quiet breezy morning with falling tree leaves trigger my senses, at peace at the same time.
It is also on a bicycle that i know what suffering is, when the 10th steep hill climb after a distance of 80 kilometers leaves my arms out cold, lungs fighting for air, aching shoulders and back and when my legs become pure lead. This is where perseverance and patience is put to the test. To concentrate on each pedal stroke for every given breath and moment to complete the climb and journey. It is through this suffering that i know what beauty is and vice versa. Every new ride is a new experience leading to self-discovery. Ride a bicycle to know who you really are.

The plug
I've been so used to having those damn earphones with loud music in my ears, a soundtrack to my daily escape, commuting to work and play. Today, i survived without music (loud) plugged directly to my ears with black metal to jazz to electornica close to my conchlea. It's ironic...I figured if i love music that much, i should cut down on music..ok maybe freakingly loud music. I'll try to enjoy Children of Bodom on my thrashy 15 year old hi-fi instead...Perhaps i should also start reading more books once again..yes and practice drawing more, get in touch with my first childhood pastime..been relying on the computer for too much. Excessive technology, the bane of a simpler life.
back
ok, so i've decided to start writing once again after a long break of a year plus + plus. Been busy lately. Lots of projects and punishing deadlines going on. Life that revolves around work most of the time. Other than that, i will be reading up some stuff, recording demo or bike around on the roadie. Had the chance to tear down the trials of Bukit Timah a week ago on my under-utilized Merida XC bike. That place is much more fun than i thought would be with steep decents and tight corners.
Plugged into the Strat yesterday for a little shred jam session of my own yesterday. Mostly experimenting with filthy type distortion and metal riffs. Yup, and the 12-string effect on the Zoom pedal for that bit of medival / baroque piece. It's pretty fun (for a while).
Will read up more stuff on design in general and cut down less on the ipod consumption. Anyway the replacement earphone that i have sucks. Furthermore the genre of music with it's intense decibel that i listen to is'nt really friendly to my hearing.
So thats it, i'm out of here!
