What I really do at work !!!

I am meant to be a Chilli , I was participating in the work fancy dress Christmas Quiz , the theme was celebrity. Guess what we were ??

The Red Hot Chilli Peppers !! ( For you oldies - they are a pop group)

I thought there was only one Santa Claus

Looks like Santa needed some liquid refreshment before the Christmas rush!

A strange sighting in London

On our pre Christmas trip to London we were checking out Fortnum and Masons for the Mill Cottage fayre. Then we remembered we were North of the border for Christmas so could save our pennies. Feeling disappointed at not spotting the Queen doing her Christmas shop, our spirits were lifted by the sight of a strange creature across the road. On further investigation we found not a creature but a rather peculiar 3 legged Buddha sitting in the courtyard of the Royal Academy of Arts.

They're back!!

I was very happy this morning when I looked out of the window to see the sheep were back. It was a lovely surprise, as when we moved in this time last year the sheep had gone not to return until the Spring. What a relief that Alex's suggestion that the sheep had fallen prey to the deer was not proven to be true. I'm pleased to report that they seem to be in fine form if looking a little chilly!

40th in Bath

We visited beautiful Bath for my 40th (see to left picture of river and Pulteney Bridge in all its autumn glory and below me on my 40th at the Royal Crescent). Global warming was in full swing and it was a balmy Autumn weekend. Is it just me or was it very very cold in the 70's and 80's in November or am I just losing my memory, now that I have joined Tracey in the 40's!! Well Tuesday came and back to work after 7 months, reality really hit with a thud !! Well I'm now able to enjoy that Friday evening feeling again (you workers know what I mean!)

He doesn't look a day older

On Sunday we celebrated John's 40th birthday with an overnight stay at The Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath http://www.royalcrescent.co.uk/ - a little bit of luxury to help ease John through the pain barrier of turning 40. I keep telling him that being 6 months younger than me he will always be my toy boy. Tales about our trip to Bath to follow.....

A weekend at the Seaside

We spent a short weekend in Suffolk a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my new job ! ( well it was about time I started work !! ) We visited both Aldburgh and Southwold, two of our favourite places at the coast. Be nice to live there but its so expensive . The beach huts in the picture are at Southwold and go for £40- £50k !!! The other picture is of Tracey on Aldburgh beach by a giant shell ! ( its artwork apparently ! ) We stayed at the Old Stables at Henham Park which I would highly recommend. Probably the best breakfast I have had anywhere I have stayed. Well if you get the chance check out the Suffolk coast its a bit of old England by the sea and perhaps try Nick's breakfast at Henham Park.
