MLP vs. SS

There's a rivalry at our house between the fans of My Little Pony and fans of Strawberry Shortcake.  Dale, his friends & most of his 5th grade class are all into My Little Pony and promoting it as the best show out there.  Eliza and I love Strawberry Shortcake but Dale is always trying to sway us to the other side.  Eliza is learning to play the game and sides with Dale when they play together but always come back to remind me that Strawberry Shortcake is really the best.

The other day she got into the car with me before Dale was in and wispered, "Mom, Strawberry Shortcake is better.  We have to change our minds though so Dale doesn't do crazy on us." :)

North Face Endurance Challange

This post needs some pics but I am not at the right computer for that now and who knows when I will get around to it.  ANYWAY, Bryce & I spent last weekend in New York with Brett & Alison for a race at Bear Mountain.  Bryce and Brett ran the 50k (30 miles) and Alison did the marathon. The trail run was rated 5 of 5 for difficulty and 5 of 5 for being technical.  Tough stuff.  They all rocked it!  Bryce did 6 hrs 15 mins (mind you, he didn't push too hard cause he has the Ogden marathon next weekend) and came across the finish looking strong.  Brett beat his last year time and came in at 6 hrs 50 mins and Alison rocked the house taking 1st in her age group and 3rd woman overall.  Bryce chatted with Dean Karnazes (the ultra marathon man) on the trail for a bit and we met & took a picture with him which was pretty sweet.  We had a blast showing the city to Brett & Alison and enjoyed acrobatics in Central Park, awesome food, Iron Man 3 and just being together.  It was a perfect mini vacation and we thank Brett & Alison SOSOSOSO much for helping to make it happen.  We love you!

Lillypad

Today we learned that Lillypad is actually Leo-pad.  Translation....Our baby due in September is a BOY!!!!  Yes, we are pregnant and SO excited!  Eliza & Dale wanted a sister (named in utero, Lillypad) SO badly and Kaiser and Bryce have stayed strong on the boy front the whole time.  Today was the big day and Dale only shed one tear when he learned that his sister-to-be was actually a brother.

Eliza loves to ask if Lillypad (Eliza and Dale still insist that the name remain) is hungry or has slept well when I wake up in the morning.  I told her my belly was going to get really big and she asked if I would still fit in our house :)  She loves to tell people we are having a baby and likes to "snuggle up" with Lillypad by resting her head on my belly.  She asked if our baby would come out with clothes on and also if it would come down between my legs and help me push the peddles to drive to his doctor appointments!?!? :)  And she thinks it is cool that my belly has a belly button so Lillypad has a little hole to peak out of.  This is so fun!

This post is actually from an email I wrote last month but I am just now getting around to blogging our news.  Since then, Eliza has changed our baby's name to Blaze and she continues to check on him and ask about him everyday.  She always tells me what a good big sister she is going to be and that Blaze with love her so much.  Kaiser likes to talk about how Blaze will sit by him in the car.

I actually have another ultrasound Tuesday because the little guy was in such a tight ball the last time we checked him out that the doc wants a better look at his heart, spine & brain.  He wasn't worried but just needed some better images.  I don't mind cause I'll take any chance I can get to see my little man!

I am 21 weeks and feeling him move quite a bit now.  Even yesterday, I saw my belly move and felt him kick my hand on the outside for the first time.  What an amazing journey pregnancy is.  We are so excited & feel so blessed!

Good set of lungs.
Watching Kaiser grow up has been such a fun and busy adventure!  He is too smart for his little britches and sometimes too wild to keep up with.  He counts to 14, knows the alphabet and the sounds the letters make & uses 'Please' and 'Thank You' like I have never before heard from a toddler.  He shovels food away like it's nobody's business and is our fruit & veggie guy, asking for apples only 29 times a day.  He loves to play hide & seek, trains, build forts, watch shows, copy Eliza & spit.  His amazingly beautiful eyes keep him from getting in trouble sometimes but he sure likes to test his limits and he can climb anything with utmost determination.  He's got a super silly sense of humor already and makes us laugh every day.  We feel SO VERY blessed to have him!
