Meeting Makai
Today I had the honor of meeting my dear friend Jen's little boy Makai. Makai is two weeks old now and is tiny and precious and as sweet as can be. Jen has proven to be an amazing mom to him and I couldn't be more proud of her. I got to hold Makai for quite a bit today, he rested on my tummy and I've already dubbed him as our daughter's boyfriend. He was so excited by the news that he tooted right on my tummy to say hi to his new girlfriend!

New Lens
My Santa did good this year! My favorite present by far is the new camera lens he gave me. I'm in love with it. I've only used it a few times and I can tell such a difference in my pictures - I now understand why people collect camera lenses. My sister in law Shannon who is my inspiration in photography gave me a 5 minute lesson on my new lens which helped me tremendously.
Here are just a "few" pictures of some pictures I've captured over the last day or two. There is no rhyme or reason to them just pictures all with my favorite subject in them.

Christmas Recap
Our first Christmas this year was with Michael's dad and step mom. We headed to dinner Tuesday night at Hu Dat, then made our way back to Grandma and Grandpa's for presents! Connor had a blast opening presents. He got a ton of fun stuff including books, dinosaurs and a 4-wheeler.
Putting a bow on Grandma.
Playing with his favorite action hero, Buzz Lightyear.
Opening his 4-wheeler.
Taking his first drive.
Wednesday afternoon we headed to Huntsville to spend Christmas with my family. We spent the day on Thursday in The Woodlands shopping, seeing an old friend James and then eating at a Brazilian steakhouse to celebrate Wade's graduation from UT with his masters! When Christmas morning arrived Connor was ready to open his gifts. He spent about 10 minutes going through his stocking and trying to hold on to everything from his stocking. We had to take a break after the stocking for a diaper change - I guess Connor was so excited about Christmas morning that he pooped his pants! Again, Connor loved opening his presents and of course playing with them.

Opening Uncle Wade's present.
Uncle Wade and Connor playing with the Wonder Pets school.
Modeling his Yo Gabba Gabba backpack, shoes and shirt.
Opening his YGG dolls!
One of my favorite memories of Christmas; everyone dancing with YGG dolls including Papaw!
Riding his motorcycle from Grammy & Grumpa, and yes he did run into the tree.
Christmas afternoon we headed to Spring to spend time with Michael's mom and stepdad and brother and his family. we had four young kids opening Nana and G.G.'s gifts so as you can imagine it was a pretty crazy time. I think the best present of all was Connor getting to spend time with his two older cousins Maddox and Crew, he isn't too interested in Grayson who is the same age as him.

We knew she would shed a few tears over this gift. Nana got a bracelet with all of her grandkids birthstones.
Can't wait for Christmas 2011!

There It Is
There it is; is the first official sentence for Connor. He has been saying it for about two weeks now, in fact he loves to say it when he spots something that he is looking for. Can't wait to see what the next sentence will be.

Gingerbread House
Today Sarah Nuse and her girls Lucy and Lola came over for a playdate. I had Lucy and Connor help me decorate a gingerbread house. This was my first time ever making, I guess I should say assembling one of these. I was anticipating a mess, chaos and most of the candy being eaten. Surprisingly it wasn't too messy, the kids took turns putting their candy pieces on the roof and a minimal amount of candy was eaten! Hopefully this is a new tradition that for the Milam household that begun this year.

Picture With Santa
While we were at Disney we had Connor's picture taken with Santa in Downtown Disney. They had an amazing little village for Santa. Needless to say that didn't make Connor warm to Santa anymore than the week before when he saw Santa at Lola's 1st birthday party. Connor seems to really like Santa from a distance but can do without a personal chat with him.

Santa Claus Sighting
We heard sirens and saw lights outside of our home just a few short minutes ago. I went outside to see what was going on, only to find a mini parade of police cars and emergency response vehicles making way for Santa! Connor and I couldn't beleive our eyes when we saw Santa walk down our sidewalk to bring Connor a candy cane. Connor was pretty impressed that Santa stopped by his house a few days early. He told Santa thanks for the candy cane and by.

Yo Gabba Gabba Live
Well we concluded the best week of Connor's life Saturday with the Yo Gabba Gabba concert! Connor is the biggest Yo Gabba Gabba fan and we were so excited to take him to their show. The show was in Austin so we flew into Austin from Disney just for YGG. Nana and G.G. joined us for the show - lucky them! Connor was in shock the entire show, he stared straight at the stage for an entire hour with his mouth wide open and blinking at a minimum. Connor even managed to get a high five from Muno and Foofa! Michael and I both agreed that we found the show rather entertaining and better than some of the other shows we have seen. I guess we just will sit and wait for the Yo Gabba Gabba Live to return.

It's a ...
Girl!
We had our 20 week sonogram this morning and we were thrilled to learn we are having a daughter. We are still working on a name, I think we are getting close to an agreement for both a first and middle name - this is proving to be a little more difficult than when we had to choose a name for Connor.
I can't beleive we will meet her in less than a few months! We can't wait!

Disney World
We had a magical few days at Disney World this past week. I'll go ahead and worn you this is going to be a long post with even more pictures.
I was in Orlando for the Baseball Winter Meetings all week so Michael and Connor flew to Orlando Wednesday to meet up with me.
Wednesday we headed to Downtown Disney. Connor rode a train and carousel and went into Lego World, met Santa and took his picture with him. But I think the highlight of Downtown Disney for Connor was eating at the T Rex Cafe. It's just like Rain forest Cafe but with dinosaurs. I thought Connor might be a little scared, I mean there were huge moving dinosaurs everywhere and a meteor shower every 15 minutes. On top of that we were in the fire room, the room had a red glow to it and a real fire in it. But Connor wasn't frightened one bit, in fact he was so excited about the dinosaurs he couldn't eat. Michael and I took turns while eating to walk him around the entire restaurant so he could pet the dinosaurs. Connor decided to eat his chicken, I mean dinosaur nuggets on the ride back to the resort.
It was cold while we were there, in fact it was the coldest weather on record for central Florida for early December. I ordered Connor a special present that was waiting for him in our room. It included Mickey ears, an autograph book and pen, treats and snacks from Mickey and a few other odds and ends. Of course Connor refused to wear his Mickey ears. Luckily (I guess) due to the weather we had to get Connor a hat for his ears and head. We found one hat looked like Mickey ears and he was more than happy to wear that.
Thursday we woke up early and made it to the Magic Kingdom at 8:30. As soon as we walked in we saw that Pluto was available for autographs and pictures. Connor was thrilled to meet Pluto, he gave him a big hug and handed him his autograph book and pen for Pluto to sign. Connor was pretty much a Pluto and Pooh fanatic for the rest of the day.
We made it to a special breakfast at Chef Mickey's where we met up with the Nuse's and Wood's. We had 7 adults and 5 kids so it was a pretty crazy breakfast. We had Mickey, Minnie, Donald Duck, Goofy and Pluto all stop by our table to visit with us. Connor had his autograph book signed by all 5 characters and we even had a birthday celebration for Lola Nuse who turned one earlier in the week.
After breakfast we headed back to the Magic Kingdom. Connor feel asleep on the monorail and was out for over an hour. Michael and I enjoyed the downtime and just sat and relaxed while Connor had a nap in the stroller. When he woke up we were going at 100% again. We saw the parade on Main Street, rode Dumbo, went to Mickey's house and met Minnie and Mickey again.
We had tickets for Christmas at the Magic Kingdom for that night. We had dinner at the Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom while waiting for the Christmas show. Pooh and all his friends were at the Crystal Palace; Connor was able to have his autograph book signed by Pooh, Tiger, Piglet and Eeyore.
After dinner we watched the Christmas show, Connor was entranced. Walked down Main Street while it snowed and enjoyed the Christmas spirit that was all around. On our way home we stopped at the large gift shop on Main Street so that Connor could pick out one stuffed animal to take home with him. Michael had predicted that he would choose Pooh or Pluto. Sure enough he went straight for Pooh but once he saw Pluto that was the clear choice.
Connor did amazing all day. We were at the Magic Kingdom from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., almost 13 hours and he did great. He only cried once when we dropped his popcorn on the way to dinner. By the way, he had three servings of popcorn at the Magic Kingdom.
Our day was magical. I think it's every parents dream to take their children to Disney World and that dream came true for Michael and I. I know Connor will be to young to remember any of this, but it was a wonderful memory for us and a fun and exciting day for Connor. I can't wait to return in a few years with Connor and Dos.

First Modeling Gig
Connor had his first modeling gig a few weeks ago when he, Nathaniel Hicks and Lucy Nuse all posed for the Hooks Christmas card. It took almost two hours to get all three of the kids to look at the camera, or at least in the direction of the camera at the same time. I think Connor looks very handsome acting out Christmas morning in his Christmas pajamas.
The best part of the photo shoot which took place at our house was afterwards when my coworker Matt Hicks helped me make a giant pot of his famous Seafood Stew. It was delicious and I now have the recipe on file.
