A Two Year Old
Author: unknown
A two year old is so many things.
A tiny discoverer of butterfly wings.
A hugger of teddies, a sweet sleepy head.
And someone to dream for in bright years ahead.
A special new person who right from the start,
has a place in the family and a course in your heart.
And just when you think you've learned all the things,
that your dear daughter is,and the joy that she brings,
a hug or a grin comes with such a sweet surprise,
that love finds you smiling with tears in your eyes.

Okay, I found this poem and so now here I am sitting with tears streaming down my face thinking of how truly grateful I am to be the mom to my Little Miss Whitney. She is everything that a two-year-old should be:
  • a sweet mommy to her babies--including her baby brother whose slobber she wipes away saying, "gross baby." She also wants to change his diaper, "stinky boy."
  • a sassy girl--"No" "cuz"
  • a smart cookie--finishing the stories, knowing all her body parts, counting
  • a chatterbox--she can say anything: vegetables, magically delicious, and full sentences, don't forget talking on the phone
  • a spiritual girl--"Mom, prayers."
  • independent--"I will do it," "I more cereal"(after getting it off the counter and into the bowl)
  • a daredevil--"I jump!" "Dad trickies!"
  • a dancer
  • a singer
  • emotional--"I crying."
  • a hugger
  • full of smiles
  • energetic
  • busy
  • beautiful
  • an "I love you"
Happy Birthday Miss Whitney! We are truly blessed to have you as our beautiful daughter.

Blessing

Mike blessed Wilson at church on Sunday. It was a beautiful blessing and a special day. Wilson looked adorable in his outfit that my mom made. He is getting so big. He's 9 weeks old, weighs 13 lbs. 6 oz and is 24.25 inches long! He loves laying under his baby gym and watching the lights and listening to the music; he coos and kicks his legs and moves his arms like crazy. He is smiling a lot and even trying to be a little bit of a flirt. We're still working through the colic, but the sound of the hair dryer seems to help. He's getting more alert everyday and we're having fun watching him grow!

Birthday Party

Party Dress
Barney Cake made by mommy
Mexican Fiesta--It's hard to tell from the blonde hair and blue eyes that Whitney is part Mexican--she will eat salsa straight from the dish!
Blowing out the candles
After the cake
We had Whitney's 2nd birthday party on Saturday. She loves Barney right now, so we had a Barney party. Grandma & Grandpa came from Washington, and we had Grandma H. & all of her aunts, uncles, cousins and our good friends over. We made homemade tamales, spanish rice, beans and yummy guacamole. Whitney was very spoiled! She loves her new picnic table from Grandma & Grandpa. The little girls had lots of fun playing with all of the new toys! It was a beautiful day, so there was lots of time spent outside playing too! Thank you everyone for making it a special day!

Tiny Miss...

The winning girls
Getting her crown & sash
Photogenic

Casualwear

Practicing Smile & Wave

Well, I decided to be a little bit of a crazy mom...There was an ad in the paper for the Little Miss Wyoming Pageant here in town for ages 0-15, so I decided that it would be fun to enter Whitney in it. It was kind of silly; there were 8 contestants total. We had to be there at 4:00 and they were supposed to start at 5:00, but the people who came forgot their dresses or their casual wear or their picture (hello---be prepared). Anyway, they finally got started around 5:20, so Whitney wasn't as happy as she could have been because she was ready to be done. They had the girls do a little interview. They don't normally interview the girls at Whitney's age, but because there were so few, they let her try. The judges asked her if she had any pets and she told them a kitty. Then they asked how old she was and she answered, "2!" I was cracking up because first of all she's not two yet and secondly, she has never answered that question before. It was too cute. They had the girls walk on the mock stage in their casual wear and then later in their party dresses. There was one other little girl in Whitney's category. Whitney is now Tiny Miss Bighorn County. She won! She also got sashes for Personality, Photogenic, and Prettiest Smile. She should have also gotten the one for Prettiest Hair (because her hair was the cutest of everyone--no bias here), but they gave it to the other little girl--I guess everyone has to win something. We can go on to a state level competition in June, I doubt we'll go, but we'll see...Here are a few pictures.

Stampin' Up

I'm having a Stampin' Up! party on Tuesday night--March 10th at 6:30. All are welcome! You can take a look at their catalog online at http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/jillstamps. I have catalogs at my house for those of you who are local and want to take a look. You can also order directly from Jill's website. They have great products! Wilson's whole quilt was based on a stamp set from them. It will be a fun night!
