Viva Mexico!!!

So our trip has finally arrived! We leave at 4am tomorrow morning to head to the airport. We are so excited (Christy to relax and be pampered, and me to see old friends and the land where I served my mission). With all the excitement we are sad to leave Ava for a week. She just started crawling on her knees today and pulling herself up. Good luck with that Grandma and Grandpa Meyer! We just know she is going to change so much in the week we are gone. We will definately post pics and vids when we get back. Adios amigos!

My First...

Turkey!!!

No this isn't a post about Ava's first easter, sorry. Also if you aren't a fan of hunting then you might not want to look at this post.

These past few weeks my Dad and I have been going out turkey hunting. The first couple days out we didn't get any shots off and didn't see a whole lot. Last week we finally got our first shots. Long story short we only recovered one, the one my dad shot, after chasing it down. Mine flew off with my arrow in it and then we found it laying by some berry bushes. When we got close to it, it jumped up and dug himself into the berry bushes where we could not get to him. I was a little upset mine got away.

Well yesterday morning we went out again and right after we set up our blind and made the first call they were right next to us. It took them a while to finally come over in front of us and I made a good shot. He ran about 10 yards and laid down. After 10 mins he was dead and we were able to recover my first turkey. This was a lot easier than last week when we were chasing them around after we shot them twice. This was my first turkey and my first kill with my bow. Thank you Dad for the good times.

8 Months

Ava is growing up so fast. Some new things she has learned or is doing better at this past month are: She now eats 2nd stage size portions of fruits and veggies, loves to jump in her bouncer, trying to learn to crawl instead of scoot, and loves to try to talk. According to our scale at home she is weighing in between 15 and 16lbs. She is sleeping better at night going from 8:00pm-5:30am-8:00am. Christy is very happy about that! Of course Christy did another photo shoot. And I will also put a video of Ava jumping in her jumper we got for her for Christmas.
