It was a little chilly at the lake, but the kids still had fun getting wet and looking for frogs/fish. At one point I caught a minnow with the net and showed it to them. When we tried to put it back into the lake, it failed because it died. It wasn't until 5 minutes later that I realized they were still playing with the dead fish. I had to throw it in the brush because they were starting to fight over who got to hold it.
Yeah, it was chilly. They needed to get out of the water to warm up a bit. They decided they needed to get out of their swim suits as well, which explains the lava lava's. They enjoyed running around in these, especially when they kept slipping off.
We are glad that Uncle Sam came! When we first told the kids that Uncle Sam was coming, they said, "Who?" Sometimes we have to review the names of family that don't live nearby. The kids really liked playing with him.
We found a big frog! That was quite the highlight.
These two didn't fight with each other very much, but did have a few petty bouts. To keep them busy, I paid each of them a whole $0.50 each to dig this plant up. It actually kept them busy for about 20 minutes.
Finn thought Uncle Sam was pretty cool.
Labor Day, we hiked up Blue Hill Mountain.
And we went to Aunt Rinda's for a Labor Day get together. Lots of fun to see family visiting from away and enjoy the beautiful coast.
