School Daze

The School Year has Officially started.  Hunter is in Kindergarten and Haley started 2nd grade.  They were both SOOO excited for the days.  I was to until I dropped them off--I miss them terribly when they're not home and I cried as soon as I got back in the car.  I love watching them learn and grow, I just wish it wasn't happening so fast!  Harm had a hard time letting his 2 Best Buddies go, but he played with his friend Ethan and was okay.  He starts school in 2 weeks so we'll have more pictures to come!

Police Olympics

Michael just played softball in the Police Olympics this weekend.  We made it out to a couple of the games.  I'm not sure how they played in that heat--sitting in it was near excruciating!  Some huge otter pops and playing with the camera helped ease the pain of the 105 degrees!

This is what you get when Hunt has the camera

And this is from Haley's mad photography skills

I did manage to get one shot of Michael actually playing :)

Mesquite

I almost forgot we stopped in Mesquite on the way home from celebrating the 4th in Panguitch.  I was so fun to break up the short trip home with a little swimming and playing in a hotel room!  It's a mini vacation that we will DEFINATELY do again.  Rooms at the Casablanca were only $40.  It's a cheap little getaway and my kids are still begging to go back to their pool!

4th of July 2011

So I'm a month late in posting 4th of July happenings, but in my defence blogger will only let me upload one picture at a time and it takes forever!!  We had a fun 4th in Panguitch--we did a little hiking and playing for a day or two before and after.  On the 4th we got up early for a yummy pancake breakfast at the bank--yes we ate pancakes in the bank parking lot :)  The kids walked in the parade which they were SO excited for!  We decorated their bikes and they scooted on down main street in style.  After we hit the kid races and drove up to Ruby's Inn to look around and play a little.  We ended the night with our second set of fireworks.  The city puts on a really good display and the Lake had a great one the Saturday before.  We of course had a few of our own as well.  It was a fun holiday and we are so thankful to celebrate our countries Independence!  We missed having some family there to celebrate--my brother Mark is deployed with the 222nd, but he is in our prayers and we are so thankful for his service!

Harm ready to get scooting but . . .
he found a much cooler ride and much faster!!
Go Hunter!
Haley--ready to ride!
Yes, I got to walk in the parade to.  I carried one of the soldier's from our areas flag and gave Mallory a push when she needed it.  It was fun to see lots of friends along the way!
Fun fireworks--Haley scared to watch and Hunter afraid of the noise.
This is our resident pyro--Dad always has fun setting of the fireworks!

Balloon Festival

The Balloon Festival was great as always.  This has become one of my favorite weekends of the whole year in Panguitch.  The weather is perfect and there are friends and family around to see.  Harm, Hayden, and I got up early on Saturday morning to see the balloons in the sky and boy was I glad we did.  We had the perfect view from the home my parents are renting and the balloons were all around us.  We were close enough to talk to the people in the balloons and one of these years I'm going to get the courage up to go get a ride!
Harm watching as they took off that morning.

Hayden wasn't to sure about the balloons, but he loves to be outside so it didn't matter.

This is the house my parents are staying in right now while waiting for the rebuild of their home and we thought we might even have one of the balloons land in the backyard.

Hello up there

The field out on river lane . . . the perfect landing spot!

The glow was fun.  It's hard to get pictures of all the balloons lined up and lighting at the same time, but it sure is fun to try!

Hunter and Harm both had to get on the Highway Patrol motorcycles.
My kids thought this guy was pretty funny!

Weekend Retreat

So the last weekend in June we headed to Panguitch for the weekend. These are pictures from our first day there celebrating my niece Tabby's Half-Birthday (Her real Birthday is the day after Christmas). More pictures to come from the rest of our trip and we even came home 2 kids lighter. Haley and Hunter stayed the week with Grandma and Grandpa. I'd like to say they missed Michael and I, but that would be wrong. They had so much fun playing and running around they didn't have time to miss us!

Harm ready for his ride.

Haley had just finished a soccer camp the day we left.  She loved it so much she had to wear her shirt up to Panguitch.  I was shocked she loved it so much.  They said it was 130 degrees out on that turf they were playing on.  She's a trooper!

Cameron with Parker--seeing how high he is makes me a little nervous :)  Good thing Cam's a good catch

Hunter is our animal lover and was very anxious to get on that horse!

Best Buds!
This was day 1----more to come!
