Guatemala/United States

This week on Tuesday December 18th was the mark for Udine being in the States as many years as he lived in Guatemala.  I think it has been a strange realization for him.  He left for his mission at age 18 to serve in AZ and has never gone home to live again, just to visit.  He has now spent as many years speaking English as he did speaking his native tongue, Spanish.

I wish our stuff wasn't all in storage because I'd love to show a picture of him and what he wore his first winter in the states.  Well, not true, he had been in the states about 3 years, but it was his first winter in a cold state (Idaho).  I think he wore every article of clothing he owned.  hahaha  Now I think I get colder quicker than him!!

Movember

Here is Udine's stache this year.  And to think this was only half of the months worth of hair because he accidentally shaved it off in the middle of the month.  How do you accidentally shave off your stache?  Well, we are sleeping in the same room as all four of our children right now, so lets just say we are not getting a good nights rest.  And on this one particular night Mia was up A LOT.  So when he got up in the morning he was exhausted and not really awake.  So he went into the bathroom and before he realized what he was doing he had shaved off half of his mustache!!  haha  When I saw him that morning I asked him what happened to the stache and he just replied "Don't even ask".  haha  It was really funny.  Anyway, he still got a nice stache or nasty depending how you look at it.  :)

Sea World

This seal was hilarious.  When the kids were feeding them he would just sit on that rock and bark at them to throw the fish to him.  All the other seals would try to get as close to the fish as possible, but not him.  It was funny.

These boys were crazy.  It was later in the day, so it was getting cool out, but they so desperately wanted to go on shipwreck rapids.  They loved it so much that they went like 5 times in a row and got completely soaked!!  They were so cold sitting through the shamu show right after that but they said it was TOTALLY WORTH IT!!!  :)
Thanksgiving dinner... a turkey leg

Fun in Elmo's world

Udine getting sick on the turning ride.  hahaha

This was so cool.  I never realized the starfish would wrap around you if you kept it on long enough.  The water was freezing so the little ones tried, but couldn't handle the cold that long.  The rest of us had a turn at seeing what that was like.  It was pretty cool.

Touching the dolphins.  I never was able to, but I think everyone else did.

This is the whale that soaked us at the show.  :)

More San Diego Fun

Food Fun!

Lucha Libre

The boys thought it was SO cool that they saw the exact booth (below) that Adam, from Man vs Food, was sitting in on the show.  They wanted so badly to sit in it, but you only get it if you call and reserve ahead of time.  They also loved all the decor in the restaurant.

Pizza Port
I forgot to mention this restaurant in my previous post.  They had some of the yummiest pizza!!  Amy gave the kids a bunch of tokens so they got to bring home a bunch of little trinkets.  Which they thought was awesome!!  This place is right by the beach.  It's a really fun atmosphere and has great food!!!

Phil's BBQ
Absolute yumminess!!!

This picture has terrible lighting but it's the only one I took of these two!!  :(
