A French General Table Runner

Earlier last year I was informed one of the girls in a Christmas swap did not received her gift, so I planned on sending her one.  As a lot of you probably know I was also in the middle of finishing my Thesis so was also put on the back burner.  I then planned on sending it to her for Christmas just been but again got delayed, then I though Lets Get Stitched Brisbane as a surprise.

I made my favorite table runner pattern again and this time with French Generals Pondicherry range

Also for Lets Get Stitched last month we had to make a needle case for our games night and this is the one I made and filled with goodies

SSCS 2017 Gift Sent

Well I hope you all had a lovely Christmas Day, though some off you around the world are still celebrating it.  Here in New Zealand it is now Boxing day and a day to eat a lot of leftovers too.

Over the next few days I will be showing you gifts sent and received for a couple of swap I have been in for Christmas this year.

First up I got to send to the lovely Michell Ridgway for the annual SSCS Chookyblue holds each year.

First up she got to open up the ornament I made for her when the parcel arrived.

Then the wait till Christmas day to open up the main parcel.

I made her this table runner.  I love this pattern and each time I make it I always have to think about it for some reason or another and if I am tired it pays not to attempt it I have found.

By the time you read this I will be fast asleep as have been on night shift the last three nights, but now have got till New Years Eve off, so time to spend with family.

Another Xmas Tablerunner

Near the second day of the year and I have not seen much of it yet as sleeping all day due doing the graveyard shift at the local hospital.  One more night and I will be off for hopefully four days then back into normal shift work for the next month.

Here is another table runner I have made and yes I love this pattern just as much as the Disappearing 9-patch pattern.  This table runner was sent as a swap gift for an advent swap I was in.

This year also heralds in the year I am to finish my Thesis and I vow never to study again.  Roll on May, though there is so much to do before then as well.  I will be very glad when it is over.  At least I can say I have finally completed my Nursing portfolio for another 3 years ....yay!!

SSCS Gifts

Yesterday I showed you the ornaments sent and received for Chookyblue's SSCS.  Today I will show you the gifts.

From Tracey I received these lovely gifts.  The Yankee Candle smells divine.  I was quite amazed I could still smell it as have a horrid cold.

Then to Julie I sent this Zig-Zag tablerunner made out of Tilda Fabrics.

This is one of my favourite patterns to make, and if you want to have a go, you can find the tutorial here for it.

Again another great swap held and a big thanks to ChookyBlue for holding it again.

Some Winnings For My Handiwork

Recently I participated in our local A&P show and again after a couple of years entered some items in the Home Industries section.  This year I entered 9 items and got three 2nds, one 3rd and a 1st place.

I go these placings for a tomato relish, a baby feeder, and cleaned out the cross stitch section with some cross stitches I have done over the years and thought to show off.

The baby feeder was made out of a 2 1/2" charm pack and was sewn up pretty quickly, actually the day before I entered it.

I also entered a couple more things but didn't place in these such as this Disappearing 9-patch table runner

A cushion which the judges liked and suggested calico instead of white next time

This gloved oven mitt

and the three cross stitches I entered were these ones which you may have seen on my blog before.

A fun time and already planning for next years show.  I may even enter some baking next time.

A Lovely Christmas Table Runner

While over in Tasmania, I was lucky enough to catch up with the lovely Relle who made me this Christmas table runner for a swap we were in last year.

Best of all it was made with my favorite material line by French General

I posted this picture back when she got hers when I sent it last year.  Notice we both have good taste in fabric

More Christmas Swaps

Yes I have signed up to a few Christmas swaps and I was sewing like mad to get them all finished on time.  This time the swaps were two I hosted over on Our Craft Group over on Facebook.

Firstly we had a Christmas secret swap and I was lucky enough to be sent these fabulous gifts from Julie

And I sent off to Anorina this table runner.

I also hosted a Advent swap and for 24 days we got to open gifts or all sorts from our partners and on the 25th we got to open our handmade one.  I had Agnes from Hungary and I got lots of lovely gifts with little notes and on the 25th I got this lovely table runner and coasters.

And I sent her this table runner for the 25th which she loved too.

Another Christmas In July Update ....a bit late...................

Over on Our Craft Group on Facebook I sort of run some swaps and last month completed the Christmas in July swap.  I was fortunate enough to have two partners which was great until I got a little message that I had sent each parcel to the wrong person.  But never fear it was sorted and everyone got the right one.
I sent and received from the same people Helen and Narelle and here is what I sent.
I sent this table runner to Narelle which I made from French General charm squares

and to Helen I sent this one

I love using this pattern.  It is so easy to make this tale runner and with the amount of Charm packs I have, will make many more.
From Helen I received this lovely gift which will be used lots

Still awaiting on Narelles gift, but being a farmer I know she has been having a busy time, so will post what I receive at a later date.

Now if you what to join up on a couple more Christmas swaps, pop over to Our Craft Group as I am now taking sign ups for a Christmas Advent swap and also a Christmas Swap

Again I have just participated in another swap, and this time it was a Table Runner swap held over at Our Craft Forum.

My partner was Trish and she sent me this lovely runner.  I love blue so was a perfect addition to my dining table.

And for Trish I sent her this lovely bright table runner made from a Twirl Charm pack.
