You are my soulmate

Good morning and happy Saturday all! The sun's finally shining here today and I couldn't be happier. It's been raining every day for over a week now so the sun's definitely a welcome sight. Today I have a page that I finished last week to share with you.

I used a mixture of papers from three different collections by Fancy Pants for this page. For the masking on the background I mixed some modeling paste with acrylic paint to add a bit of texture and color. The flowers are a mix from my stash as well as a Prima vine that I cut apart. The chipboard title is from Want2Scrap that I cut apart to fit my design better. I left it raw because I thought it matched the script in the background paper pretty well. The bling that I've scattered throughout the clusters are from my stash, the pearls show up better than the crystals in the photos.

I was inspired by the June challenge at 123 Challenge Blog. Here is their June inspiration board with the criteria being use the color blue, the word "together", and to use masking on your project.

Good morning! It's time for the week four reveal at Let's Get Sketchy and I have my inspiration page to share with you based off this week's fabulous sketch.

This time I've created a page with a photo of my husband and I being the focal point. I'm so grateful that he's the one beside me, I couldn't imagine going through all the twists and turns in life with anyone else. I'm entering this page of us into the "Oh Boy" challenge over at Challenge Yourself. The criteria this month is to scrap you and the man/men in your life. I think I can count on one hand the number of layouts I've done with my husband and I being the focus. And this challenge was a great push to get another one done. I used Prima's Something Blue range for this layout. Aren't the coral tones great? I think coral and turquoise are my two favorite colors to work with right now. And I love how the black and white photo just pops off the page. On the background I used a TCW Circle Explosion stencil and Color Box ink in Coral Rose. I distressed and inked all my layers, tucking a bit of lace from my stash here and there. The flowers, tulle, and pearls are from my stash as well. The resin birdcages are by Spare Parts from Hobby Lobby.

Don't you love all those layers? I tightened them up a tad bit for my page to get some white space.

Free to choose

Hello, hello! Today I have my most recent page that I've created using some Prima goodies along with some embellishments from my stash. I hope you like it.

I used Prima's Cartographer range for this page. I started the background by randomly stamping with Kaisercraft's Sketchy stamp and Prima chalk ink in Dark Bark. Then using a CW stencil and the Dark Bark ink I added a bit more interest and depth. For some added texture and color I used the stencil again with modeling paste mixed with Coral acrylic paint. I gave all the layers a distressed effect with my scissors then inked the edges with the Dark Bark chalk ink. The flowers, lace, mesh, and pearls are from my stash. The peach washi is by Recollections and the black washi is from Spare Parts. The metal pieces are some I found in the jewelry section at Hobby Lobby.

I based my page off the Inspired by sketch challenge at Sketch~N~Scrap 

 and combining it with the bingo card challenge over at Frosted Designs using the flowers, masking, free, washi, and bling row.

more than words can say

Good morning! Here we are in mid June already can you believe it? This year is half way over and flying right on by way too fast. And it's time for a new sketch reveal at Colorful Creations so today I have my inspiration page to share with you.

I used a mix of Prima papers from Stationer's Desk and Cartographer collections. I went around the edges with my scissors giving the papers a sort of pinking effect then inked the edges with Prima chalk ink in Dark Bark. On the background I used the Kaisercraft script stamp to add a bit of interest. Then using the CW Tiny Tiles stencil and the Dark Bark ink I went around the background again here and there. Finally finishing the background with the CW stencil and some modeling paste mixed with turquoise acrylic paint. I was trying to pull the turquoise from the flowers on my daughter's shirt. The flowers, lace, pearls, hemp cord, and cheese cloth are all out of my stash. The pen nibs are from Tim Holtz.

The chicken wire chipboard is from Gina's Designs which I simply heat embossed with Antique Gold embossing powder then gave a few random dabs of the turquoise modeling paste.

Happy Saturday all! Today I'm sharing my page for the June 1st sketch challenge at Sketch~N~Scrap. I fell in love with the sketch and decided to play along. I actually finished my page a week ago, but I've finally got a minute to get it posted. 

For this page I grabbed some papers from Echo Park's Dearest collection -another collection from my stash used up yay! I did a little random masking and hand stitching throughout. I kept it CAS and as close to the sketch as possible. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

Good morning all! It's Monday and that means another reveal has gone live at Let's Get Sketchy. And here's my inspiration page based off this week's sketch.

I used papers from Bo Bunny's C'est La Vie collection with just a bit of random stamping to the background using some Glitz Design stamps. The border punch I used on a couple of the layers is from EK called Swiss cheese. The large lily is an older one from Prima, the rest of the flowers are from my stash. The laces and pearls are from my stash as well. I found the little domino pieces at Hobby Lobby and thought they would work well with these papers as a fun element since the paper had dominoes on it also. 

And here's our fabulous sketch designed by Tabitha Triplett that I turned counterclockwise once.

Having some fun with Fancy Pants

Good morning! It's time for a new sketch reveal at Stick It Down! And today I'm sharing my inspiration page based off this week's sketch.

I used papers from the Love Note collection by Fancy Pants for this page. I distressed the edges of my background, giving it a couple random punches with a heart border punch. Then I gave the edges a quick once over with some Vintage Rose ink by Prima. To add interest & a bit more texture I splattered the background with some white, pink, and black acrylic paints. For my heart die cuts I simply inked and layered them then stapled them to the background. I cut out a few of the love labels from the paper and affixed them to the page with pop dots. I was hoping for a fun, clean and simple approach for my take on the sketch. And I have to say I really enjoyed putting this page together.

I matted the photo on cardboard  for a bit more dimension and to help keep the photo flat. The envelope tucked under the photo is also from Fancy Pants. The tiny roses, buttons, and sequins are all from my stash. The little candy heart I found in one of my button boxes. Isn't it cute? It's actually foam and I have no idea where it originally came from. And since I used all pattern paper to create this page I'm entering it into challenge #138 at Use Your Stuff - to use pattern paper on your project.

Guest designing for Life In Details

Good morning everyone! I have been honored with the opportunity to guest design for Life In Details challenge blog this month. It's a great challenge site if you are into creating Project life/Pocket pages or Smash books. You really need to check them out if you haven't already. The challenge this month is to create a confetti pocket. Sounds like fun right? I admit I'd never done one before, but I really enjoyed it and I love how it turned out.

 I simply added some sequins, seed beads, buttons, butterfly and circle punches, and a few wood veneers and stitched the top of the pocket closed. Easy Peasy! And here's the whole page.

Black With 2 & a recipe

Good morning all! June is here and it's time for the reveal of June's mood board from Black With Two.

I decided to try doing a recipe page for my take on the board and this is my page.

I wanted to keep it clean and simple so that it would fit into the book easily and be functional. I have thought about doing a recipe book for awhile and this month's mood board inspired me to finally start. My sister's always calling me with "How do you make..." so I've gathered a few of her requests and plan to make her a recipe book. I used papers from Fabscraps Raspberry line. After searching around all the local stores for fake raspberries that I could use to embellish the page with I decided to try making my own with my hot glue gun and some seed beads.
