Good boy gets Good Stuff

Jonah has worked hard to have good behavior at school- we want him to get green and purple (extra good).  He got the WHOLE month of April that way.  Of course, it took some teachings for him to steer clear of some particular children who don't work so hard to be good.  But it all paid off for him- so we celebrated with going to Chuck E Cheese!  Yahoo!!!!!

Lakehouse

It's nice to have friends who have other friends who have a lake house - so we can enjoy it!  We played outside, did some swimming, play around the canoe, loved riding the 4 wheeler, and just relaxing!  Thanks Flemings for a fun weekend ~ can't wait til next time!  

Getting ready for the sun

We enjoyed being outside over the weekend.  It was so nice and cool- very bright hence the hats for all of us (even though H was not happy- no surprise at that).  We played in the sand, played with the balls and even ate dinner outside- which the kids totally loved.  

The very hungry Caterpillar

We have read this book forever and now it all makes sense to J.  Grammy got him some caterpillars at Easter.  They arrived in a jar with their food.  In some time, they formed cocoons and we moved them to their net.  Once in their net, they sat there for a long time and finally -- day by day-- we got more butterflies.  This was such an awesome gift for J- he woke up every morning looking to see if the butterflies had formed or how many more came to.  So finally we let them "go" out of their net.  J didn't want to do it, but once we explained how would he feel if we told him he had to stay inside forever and never go outside-- he got it and we immediately went outside to set them free!  Thanks Grammy for a great gift!   

 

Picnic

 We picked up the kids from daycare and headed to the park to play and have a dinner picnic.  We visited a new park and the kids loved it.  This school year has been hard to get into a groove.  Rick and I have not consistently worked out, been stretched thin with H being so sick the 1st semester of school, then being stretched to spend time with the kids especially H since she goes to bed at 7:00.  So it's when we have these random days after school that we appreciate being able to have jobs that get us home by 4:30 to play and have fun making memories with our two little noisy and very busy blessings!

 Because that is what brother and sister do with each other- one licks you and the other picks your nose!

Jonah's new kicks

So R and I are talking in the living room and we hear this clunk in the hallway-- it was J!  He had put on his skates by himself and tried to roller skate out to us.  Problem #1:  we hadn't taught him how to do it yet.  Problem #2:  he didn't put the skates on correctly- his foot was hanging out at the end.  Problem #3:  he wasn't holding on to anything!  This eager little boy just can't get enough- love that he always wants to try new things!  

Celebrating Easter

After church, we did naps and then headed over to McGee Zoo for some good food (of course), opened some gifts for the kids and some games!  We had a new one this year- the EGG DROP.  Everyone had to package their raw egg in whatever stuff they could.  We would then drop the egg from a ladder and the goal was to make sure your egg was still in tact after the drop!  Amazingly- we did pretty good.  And then well came the confetti eggs ~ then it got dirty!
