Thanks for the birthday calls!
I just wanted to thank everyone for thinking of me and calling me on my birthday. I appreciate it!
3 things we learned about touring Philadelphia
Michael and I went to work at a conference in New Jersey this weekend. We went a day early to visit Philadelphia. Since PA is having a HUGE vote on Tuesday, we were lucky enough to see a gazillion Clinton and Obama commercials along with the beginnings of the Obama rally downtown on Friday night with people offering "Obama shirts" on all the main street corners.
After visiting Philadelphia a number of times with Kids Are Music and touring patriotic sites back East, this time I learned a number of things:
1) Go deeper than the big 3! When time allows to go deeper than the big three tourist sites of each destination- you can see great things! Who knew that there was so much more to Philadelphia than the Liberty Bell, The constitution center, and Indpendence Hall. I was lucky enough to marry a history buff (cough... nerd:) such as myself that we can both enjoy a good 10 hours of historical museums and sites. Even the smaller museums that aren't as popular as the big 3.
2) Weather is huge! No wonder Kids Are Music didn't want to do more than the big 3- in July it is stinkin' HOT! Michael and I had beautiful weather this weekend. Visit the East coast historical sites in April for enjoyable weather!
3) DO NOT EAT 3 hour old Chick-Fil-A! Poor Michael! He was so cute and supportive to come and work with me on his birthday on Saturday. He was very grateful to all who called and left such sweet messages on his machine. Sorry he did not answer. He was busy being a slave for work. Then we spent the next 20 hours in our hotel room with food poisoning... YUCK!!! Then we had to get on a plane to come home. Both of us felt rotten. We are still recovering to full capacity this morning.
It was a wonderful trip (well, despite the horrible salmonella type food poisoning).

Mom and Dad's cute gift

Thank you everyone for your support inthe pictures on Christmas day. They have turned out beautifully! Here is the frame we are sending to mom. It is one big frame with places for all of the pictures. Mitzi is also working on a coffee table book with collages of the different families to give to mom. Thanks Mitz for your time and everyone for being willing to ditch our family colors for the black and denim because they look awesome! :)

A Little Change in our future...

After weeks of looking for new opportunities and praying about the options that have come our way, we have made a decision and are excited to announce that we have both accepted positions and on May 12 we will be moving to Hermosillo, Mexico.
We will be working at a private English School that is only 1 year old. Michael will be the supervisor of the all of the teachers (organizing schedules, making sure they are representing the school well even on their off time at the local bars, observing their teaching to make sure they are working, etc.) and I will be creating, developing, and publishing their text book, curriculum, and lesson plans.
We don't know exact details of our future living situation but we do know we will live in a small air conditioned apartment that is a block away from Costco, Walmart, Applebee's, and Burger King. It is also 5 minutes from this familiar building :) We might even become temple workers- if they accept gringos that don't speak perfect spanish!

In a way it came at a perfect time because we have seen so many of you in the last few weeks with Cole's sealing and Michael's cousin's (Jimmy's) wedding. We plan to be there until December... If any of you want to come visit, we would love to see you!

Bests of the week!
Since obviously I did not post this week because Iw as too busy having fun with all of you last weekend and then catching up after you left- I've decided to steal from all of yours.
Mike reading curious george with Connor and Tara ties with Lucy walking for best video of the week, Amy gets most exciting news of the week, and Char wins for best picture of the week. Well, either of the 2. Oh... and Tiff... we will give you "best blog for strangers"... seriously- you do not have one picture of you or your husband on the last 2 months of blogs. As excited as I am to see pictures of movies and games and strangers babies- I kind of like you guys more. :)
For those of you have not yet seen Cole's response when people say "cheese" you are missing out!
