Mia & Eli

This past month has been a fun, exciting & busy! Here is a little update....

We eagerly waited for Eli to arrive, but he kept us waiting & arrived on his due date ;)

We think Eli looks like Chris & Mia! =)

I CANNOT believe that Mia is a little over 2 1/2 years old & Eli is 1 month!!

My brother, Joey (who lives in Australia) was here visiting with his wife, Jules & their 15 month old son, Ethan. We were able to meet our adorable nephew Ethan for the 1st time & they were able to be here for the birth of Eli! =) Mia had a blast with her cousin, aunt & uncle & we miss them ALOT!!!

Mia loves being a big sister & she is an awesome big sis! She reads to Eli, cuddles with him, "holds" him (with our help), talks to him & helps take care of him too ;)

Two weeks ago, Eli had his 2 week appointment & he is doing great! In 2 weeks, Eli grew 1 inch & gained more than a pound! At his 2 week check-up he weighed 8 lbs 12 oz & was 21 inches long...thanks to his bottomless belly who knows how much he weighs now! ;)

Eli is a great sleeper-which we are very, very thankful for! He never had his night & days mixed up & has been very easy to get on a schedule. =)

Oh & I love that Eli has a natural mo-hawk. ADORABLE!!

Mia loves to play games! Hide & seek, Hopscotch, Ring Around the Rosie, Red light, green light, run races & many others.

Mia likes to finger & body paint! She pretends that the paint is sunscreen & applies "sunscreen paint" liberally all over! =)- Makes me laugh!!

Mia can recite most (if not all) of the book, Chicka, chicka, boom, boom. Chris & Mia read it together at night & she takes over reciting the book ;) When we get it on video we will post it.

When Sonia asked Mia to be a flower girl in her wedding Mia said, "Yes & I will grow plants for it." Hehehehe! ;) Mia & I had just planted flowers, so she had growing flowers on her mind.

Mia pretends to feed Polka (her fav baby) & says that our bike pump is her milk pump :)-

Thanks to our friend, Tina, for making this funny & super cute onsie for Eli!

Waaaayyy over due!

It has been way to long since I have posted an update about Mia...yikes!
We can't believe that our precious little girl is now 2!!! We had an awesome time celebrating Chris & Mia's birthday's & are so thankful to all our family & friends who helped make their birthday so special! =)
Some Mia stories.....

Mia is talking up a storm & we don't think she stops talking unless she is eating or sleeping ;) But wait! She does talk in her sleep! Ha!

She likes to name her babies & animals & has come up with some creative names: Polka (baby), Pasaley (baby-pronounced Pas-uh-ley), Tessla (dog), Yellow (baby), Paws (dog), Nose (horsey), Light (moose), Mocha (dog)

Mia was an Ewok (from Star Wars) for Halloween. I put a pink bow on one ear & she wore pink shoes- a little girl Ewok ;)

When Mia sees me using butter she says: "Butter, baby, butter!" It's hilarious!

Mia has started to pray on her own! So precious! Here are a couple examples:
Dear Jesus, thank you for drink, tomatoes, cheese, plates, Daddy, Mommy, Mia, new baby & Nona.
Dear Jesus, thank you ketchup, mustard, avocados, chicken and for butter, baby, butter!

Birthday morning! Mia gave her Daddy a microphone (once called a song phone by Mia) because they like to sing together!

Chris has taught Mia some Christmas songs! She knows Silent Night & Away in a Manger. It's adorable to hear them sing together =)

Several of our friends nurse their babies. When Mia sees them, so wants her baby, sits on the couch, covers the baby up with a blanket & says she is feeding the baby too!

The other day I was cold so I wrapped myself up in a blanket & Mia said, "Mommy is feeding the new baby!" Smart girl! ;)

Mia's Papa got her a doctor set for her birthday & she is taking great care of us!
Because of the doctor set she has learned the names of some medical instruments & how to "use" them. So, while she & I were at my pre-natal doctor appointment the nurse was taking my blood pressure & Mia says, "That's for blood pressure." The nurse gasps & then asks how old she is & how she can possibly know that! It was really funny to see the nurse's face & her reaction! =)

Birthday party!!!!

Mia really likes Tigger & has given us each a character identity from Winnie the Pooh. Mia is Pooh, I am Tigger, Chris is Eeyore & the new baby is Roo! ;)

A few Mia stories-

Mia refers to herself in the 3rd person! It's really cute! "Mia wants a drink" or "Mia's turn" "Mia no like it"

Mia's friends Aria & Chanson went to California on vacation. I explained where they were because Mia kept asking to see them. So, ever since then Mia gets a bag, asks for her airplane ticket & here is a little bit of our convo:
Mia: "I'm going on a trip"
Mommy: "Where are you going"
Mia: "California"
Mommy: "Have fun!" "I'll miss you!"
Mia: "Bye Mommy, I love you"
Mommy: "I love you too!" with a kiss & hug =)

Yesterday, Mia told Zachary that she was going on a trip & that she loved him. "I love you Zachary" Zachary did tell Mia that he loved her too ;)

Mia now makes us "non-fat mocha's" She apparently heard Chris & I talking about how we like our mocha's. =)

We use timeouts as discipline with Mia & she has started putting her animals or baby in timeout too. She says, "No touching the TV! Ok, timeout." Then Mia puts her animal or baby in timeout, counts (which is what we do with her) & then tells them "All done!" I guess she understands timeouts! Hehehe =)

When we were in NYC a couple weeks ago Mia did NOT like Geoffry the Giraffe, but she did like the huge life-size T-rex who growled! Hahaha!

We let Mia pick out big girl undies! =) Let the potty training begin! (soon) =)- Ha!

I can't believe our precious little girl is 22 months! Very soon she will be 2!

Our little Texan ;)

Mia is a Texan ;)
We went out to eat for my Mom's birthday & while we were at the restaurant Mia pointed to the wall & said, "Texas". We all looked to where she was pointing & on the wall was a picture of the state of Texas! We were all very impressed & proud! =)

Mia can also recognize Africa (thanks to Baby Einstein). Way to go Baby! =) She can look at a globe, point to Africa & say, "Africa"

Over the weekend when Mia went to wake Chris in the morning she saw that he was shirtless & said, "Daddy is a naked baby"! Hahaha! He was wearing shorts, but since he was under the covers Mia thought Daddy was a naked baby! =)-

Mia really likes animals & has started to learn countries by the animals that are indigenous to that country. We didn't set out to teach her countries, but Mia learned what animals live in Australia since we talked about how her cousin Ethan lives in Australia. Mia also knows which animals live in Asia, Africa, Antarctica & North America.

Mia really likes the new Dave Matthews Band album. She really likes one song in particular & recognizes the song after just a few notes. Mia also requests the song too =) "Why I Am, please!" (The song is called Why I Am) =)
