What the heck is that?

We are going to play a little game called "What the heck is that?". My boys and I have been playing all day and I would like you to join in. Here is what we have come up with.

#1. What the heck is Jaxon eating in the front seat of my car?

Clues:
1. Powdery substance.
2. It made him smell like cake batter but that is not what it is.
3. It is not a drug of any kind. Please!
4. It is safe for Jaxon to eat and boy was he eating it as fast as he possibly could!
5. It made my pants stick to the seat all morning.

Answer: $40+ per can Neocate vanilla flavored baby formula. The little stinker raided my diaper bag. I am thinking I should dress him as a skunk for Halloween like I did for Daniel when he was this age. They are definitely little stinkers!

#2. What the heck is that huge pile of toys by my front door?

Clues:
1. It is not a pile for Good Will
2. It used to be nicely organized.
3. It will remind you of the best Disney movie ever!

Answer:
Me: Daniel, what are you and Jaxon doing piling all of the toys by the front door?
Daniel: "It's my collection mom!"
Me: Of course! Makes sense to me. Carry on.

Hematoma #3

Yep, Jaxon did it again! He tried to fly off the couch like his brother and landed face first on a Green Goblin plane. It was so sad. You can see the shape of the plane on the side of his face.

I got him calmed down and Daniel off to preschool then he just sat down next to me and fell asleep. I know I am not supposed to let him go to sleep after hitting his head but honestly he has been up since 5:15 AM and is beyond ready for a nap. By this time he had already be whipped with a hose by Daniel and eaten a nice big handful of mud (I am telling myself it was mud but we do have a dog so that could be questionable). Plus we are trialing soy so who knows how his tummy is feeling. I didn't have the heart to wake him. It was just so darn cute.

My mom has always said this dump truck chair was one of the best things they ever bought my boys. (Ignore my messy computer desk and dirty window, please!)

Allergy Testing

We had our yearly allergy testing yesterday and I was pleasantly surprised with the results. I really was dreading the appointment. Secluded in a tiny room with my two wild boys, pricking their backs multiple times, screams, I was expecting it to be a nightmare!

The boys were WONDERFUL. ALL DAY, not just at the appointment. It was so amazing. At the appointment I brought balls and bubbles which kept them happy during the 20 minutes we had to wait after the prick before the results could be read. They didn't go crazy until the doctor and I tried to have a conversation about Jaxon's results.

They both loved the fact that the nurse colored on them. Daniel had issues being poked by did really well overall. Jaxon was a trooper and just kept saying ouch with each poke. You will see from the pictures #1 is a positive control to verify they are having a reaction and the last one for both is a negative control.

Daniel's starting panel. 11 foods. 2 controls.

Jaxon's starting panel. 29 Foods. 2 controls.

Jaxon results. Not as bad as expected. Peanut allergy - definitely, but the others were all 1-4mm and that was not as bad as expected. It confirmed a few I already knew and gave me an idea of what to avoid and what I can try in the future. Now we are testing soy, beef, oats, and corn before his next scope with the GI the middle of July. I have tried oats before but I am going to try again. I was also told not to eat any peanuts this pregnancy because of Jaxon's condition and the fact that our next boy has a 60% chance of having the same issues.

Daniel results. Nothing! Yeah. He had no reactions which is opposite of the one we had a year ago. He is doing well and thought it was cool the nurse told him his back looked like the HULK when she tried to wash off the green marker.

As I was leaving some lady (who really did look crazy) was walking by. She asked if both boys were mine. I said yes. She said "I have 4 boys and that is why I am crazy". I kind of laughed and loaded up my rugrats, but I was totally thinking that I would rather be crazy from having my boys than crazy from not having them. Plus, if we had girls Johnny would probably be bald by now.  Better me crazy than him bald, right?

Zoo & Easter

My parents came out to visit for Easter weekend and we had a great time. The night before they came out we went to the Easter Pageant. It was wonderful and Daniel really loved it. Jaxon kept waving and saying "Hi Jesus".

Once my parents got here we went to the zoo with Daniel's preschool. We only made it through half of the zoo but it was a great time and the boys were wasted by the time we left. I think they both loved the Stingrays the most. I was afraid they were going to fall in!
They also loved the water area but that didn't last long. It was a beautiful day out of the water so they got cold quickly once they started getting wet.

For Easter we kept it low key. We were going to go to an Easter Festival Saturday morning but it rained so we went to the mall and rode the carousel instead. Easter morning I did do baskets but they had movies instead of candy. Jaxon can't have the candy anyway and Daniel really doesn't need it. Besides he got some that afternoon at Johnny's mom's house. So I don't feel like he was deprived.
I really had a wonderful time with my parents here. My dad even scrubbed my floors while I had to work on Friday. It was AWESOME! Thank you DAD! They took the boys to the dog park and of course spoiled them at the zoo. I love it when my parents come to visit. I am always reminded how blessed I am to have such a wonderful family.

Ranger

We went to visit Johnny's brother and his family this weekend in Bagdad AZ. All of you are thinking, where? Bagdad is on the way to Vegas from Mesa and took about 3 hours each way. It was a fun trip. In between sessions of Conference we toured the copper mine where Johnny's brother Michael works as a Project Manager and explored the quaint little town of Bagdad in their Ranger. Basically we made two runs to the only store in town, Basha's.

Daniel and Jaxon LOVED the Ranger rides. Daniel calls it "the big quad". They had awesome harnesses in the back so I was only a little freaked out by the idea of my 3 and 1 year old riding along, but we were mostly on pavement so basically I was overreacting. The one big hill we did go over Daniel yelled "MOM I was in the AIR"! Jaxon squealed with laughter.

The only problem was when the Daniels (our Daniel and their George Daniel) thought they would go for a ride in the Ranger on their own. Johnny and I ran out as I heard the emergency break being released. In one second I saw Johnny (holding Jaxon of course) run and stop the Ranger as it rolled out into the street with the two Daniels. If he had not stopped it they would have gone down the driveway and across the street into another house. Worse yet if a car had been coming they would have all been hit. I don't know if you can imagine all three of the people you love the most in the world being killed, but that is what was flashing in my mind. I have a distinct memory of playing in my Gumpsy's van when I was about 6 or 7. I remember my dad screaming for my mom as he stopped the van from rolling down the street with me in it. Now I know how they felt. They wanted to strangle me and love me to death at the same time. I think I freaked Daniel out a little and in a way I hope I did. Maybe that will keep him for doing it again.

And here is my wonderful hero and husband. We call this his GQ picture. He is a stud, I know! This guy is amazing. He not only jumps in front of moving vehicles to save our son but he digs through garbage dumpsters full of lettuce to find the Relief Society table cloth covers for me, cleans the floor, folds the clothes, and is the best dad ever. He coaches Daniel's soccer team when I volunteer him without checking with him first and he never complains about changing dirty diapers or taking over bath time because I have to work. Johnny talks mostlty in movie quotes and makes his own sound effects. He is one of a kind and I love him all the more for it!

What the Hematoma?

Yep, another one! We always say Jaxon wants to do everything Daniel does. Except this time I was innocently working out at the gym when the staff pulled me from class and said he had a little accident. I guess the windowsill won. The blood from the bump has now drained mostly to his left eye and my poor baby has a shiner!

Easter

Don't you just love Easter? The colors, the flowers, the freakishly large bunnies? Every year I subject my children the pictures with this scary creature at the mall. Daniel is a ham and will give his signature smile no matter what is holding him, but Jaxon I think was about to scream "what the heck are you doing letting a grown man in a bunny suit hold me?" It is a precious thing never the less!

Its A....

...BOY! Yep, # 3 is a boy. I knew it the whole time! Johnny is relieved. He was a little scared to have a girl. I am super excited, but I was expecting this so really I am more comfortable with the idea of a third boy than my first girl. Enjoy the pics. These are only a few. Too many to post.
