SiStErS, sIsTeRs

Steve and I are sure lucky to have two of the most loving sisters as our daughters.  They do have their moments when they drive each other crazy, but for the most part they love each other and love to play with one another.  Here are some cute pictures of their playing together the past couple of weeks.  And a couple of them being their cute litte selfs.

Blood Bath

This is Steve making this post. A couple weeks ago Teresa made a post blaming me for all the bad crap that happens while I'm gone. Well, last Saturday I'm out fishing and I get a picture text of this. The girls were rough housing in Savanna's room while Teresa was in the shower, a shelf fell off of the wall and Paiges head broke the fall. Just a scratch but those head wounds bleed good. Paigy is a tough cookie to get a smile out for the picture. Yep, this one got pinned on me too.

What do you do????

If you have a daddy like we have in our house, Saturday, Sunday and Monday are usually spent watching football games.  So because we like to spend time together that also means that we are watching football games.  The girls love to play and see how much they can get into before we notice.  Little Miss Paige likes to play dress up or whatever else she can.  Savanna likes to dress up her little sister.  This picture was taken a couple of weeks ago while we were enjoying out Sunday evening of football along with Grandma, Celeste and Rhees.  I sure love my silly girls who keep us on our toes everyday.

Friends

Back at the end of September we took advantage of the nice weather and went camping for the night with our neighbors the Johnson's.  Steve loaded up all our camping gear and headed over to Willard Bay earlier in the day to get our spots and get our stuff set up.  Once Mike got home from work and got his family ready to go we headed over for our night out.  The kids had fun exploring the campgrounds and running around.  It was a fun night of chatting with great friends and enjoying yummy food and smores.  Tami joined us for dinner and for a campfire before taking baby Truman home for the night.  Once most of the kid were sleeping, the adults enjoyed some quiet time around the fire.  Thanks Mike, Tami, Karina, Seth, Julia, Isaac and Truman for joining us for one last campout of the season.

What will happen next???????

It seems that whenever my husband decides to get away for the weekend something always happens at home.  Take for example we were getting ready to leave for our Washington trip this summer when my dad passed away.  The morning of his funeral (also the day that we were now planning on leaving) the heavens opened up and sent us a lovely rain storm.  Well to say the least with all the rain coming down while we were sleeping, our basement flooded.  I was already a mess with my dad being gone, but now I had a mess in my home.  It was not a good day for my emotions.  We still took our trip but came home having to get the basement fixed up.  After about a month of not having a functional basement it was nice to have it all returned to it's proper place.

Then a few weeks ago Steve was off hunting and we were doing our regular nightly ritual of baths when Savanna yelled to me from her bathroom, "MOM, THE WATER WON'T SHUT OFF!"  I jumped up and ran in to see the water flowing nice and steady from the faucet.  I turned both of the nobs to make sure they were off, and indeed they were.  I ran downstairs and shut off the main water valve.  I again began to panic "what am I suppose to do for the rest of the weekend with no water being on?"  I called my bishop to see if there was anyone in the ward that could come help me out since the hubs was gone.  About 20 minutes later a knock on the door was wonderful to recieve from a neighbor that was willing to help me out.  We ended up having to change out the washers on the back of the hot and cold nobs.  Really it was like a $.50 fix but I would not of known what to do.

That brings me to the most current get away for Steve.  He left yesterday for the elk hunt and I was starting to believe that everything was going to be okay this time around.  Well this might sound a little funny, but Savanna came home from school today and wanted to watch some cartoons to relax.  She went downstairs and turned on the tv.  Nothing happened, the tv turned on but the receiver did not.  I tried several things to get it up and going to no avail.  I ended up calling Directv for some assistance and everything they had me try still didn't work.  Needless to say we are getting a new receiver sent to us but we won't have it until Tuesday when Steve gets home.  Savanna was devestated, but I told her that we still had the tv in mom's room that we can watch for the weekend.  There's nothing wrong with a little mommy/daughter bonding on mom's bed to cheer us all up, (or drive mom crazy).  Anyways all of our shows that we have recorded are now gone.  I guess we'll have to watch them on hulu to catch up.  Seriously though, the next time Steve wants to get away he better think twice about it.  Our pocketbook keeps taking a hit with repairs that come up while he is gone.  I think this mom/wife deserves a get away of her own.
