House of Peranakan
The original agenda was a boat trip to celebrate my parents' anniversary, but something happened to the the boat's propeller yesterday, so the trip was postponed. We went to House of Peranakan for dinner instead. Edmund and girlfriend joined us as well. The food was ok.. Not really a fan of Peranakan food actually. And my grandaunty's buah keluah is infinitely better than any restaurant's!
We weren't very happy when they gave us such a small table, even though my bro-in-law made a reservation early in the afternoon. There was only one table in the whole restaurant that could comfortably seat more than 10 people. I was rather pissed when they expected us (nine adults plus 2 baby chairs) to squeeze at a table which usually seats only about eight people, and they gave the big table to another family which had only six adults plus four children. I suspect that they were walk-in customers too.
We had a cake from Secret Recipe for dessert. It was wonderfully creamy, and had chocolate sprinkles on the outside. I don't usually eat sweet stuff, but this was really good. :)
