Does the end signal a new beginning?

I've come close to the end of my internship in Beijing. It was a fulfilling, enriching, and smooth journey. It was a new experience; I lived like an expat of sorts and it was truly great! You meet new people, learn different cultures, find novel stuff, and enrich yourself. I love reading this summer!

To say it's all good would be a lie though. Expats tend to congregate cause they're bored in this foreign land. But that's also how you meet new people! Moreover, living expenses are high when you are away from home.

I'm totally looking forward to the trips southwards! Shanghai, maybe Suzhou, Shenzhen, Macau and HongKong! O man.. I really hope it will be loads of fun!

The end of this journey signals a new beginning? Maybe... I'm writing some articles on social media marketing for a friend's company now. Turns out they also saw the possibility of business in the digital marketing sphere. And thing is, they've already acted on it! I really do hope to learn from the writing and gain something out of it.

Few things I'm gonna do when I get back in Singapore:
1) Meet up with friends
2) Revamp my room
3) Write more articles
4) Read my books
5) Spend time with family

In the meantime, I shall enjoy the little time left in Beijing. 老北京小吃, african cuisine and yunnan cuisine all awaiting me! 798 art galleries too! I'm gonna chill to the max on Saturday. No more shopping as my luggage is very likely to be overweight. Haha... And well, I needa spend some time wrapping gifts.

Love, love, love Beijing :D

p.s. I'll be back in Singapore on 4August 2350.

Influencer

Been reading some books. Currently loving this book "Influencer- The power to change anything"

It's kinda enlightening. A great deal of research has been done in the field of psychology. It's fascinating.

Halfway through the book.
Few points I thought are nice to share:

Choose influence over serenity
Find the vital BEHAVIOURS and change them to achieve your goals/ motives. Big problems succumb to changes in just a few behaviours. Verbal persuasion is useless compared to stories. Use stories to win people over. Important issues to address in your stories "Will it be worth it?" and "Can I do it?"

Make change inevitable
Personal motivation, Personal ability, Social motivation, Social ability, Structural motivation, Structural ability

Expensive cities for expats

With Tokyo first on the list, it's not that difficult to figure Osaka, Moscow, New York City, Singapore, Dubai are in the top 10.

Surprisingly, Beijing is more expensive than Shanghai, Singapore and London and is ranked 9th on the list.

WOW time has changed. Whoever said China is cheap?
