5 People You Meet in Beijing

I'm proud at the play of words here.

Anws, let's talk about the 5 interesting people I met.

1) Kxxxx
He enlightened me a little, telling me more about the practical side of work. Talking about the environment and relationships rather than the actual work done. I shall hang around more often, be more active. He also talked about his thoughts about certain things (ie. gossips about himself). It's nice to get another perspective and to know that everyone is all but just human.

2) Thomas and wife
This really nice guy treated all the interns here to a buffet lunch at Traders' Hotel. He dont even know us in the first place. His wife is just as nice, chatting and laughing with us. It's really heartening to know that people care and show hospitality towards you.

3) XiaoTin
3 years my 'senior', now working and living in Riviera. I'm living with her and the boyfriend now. Gotta thank her for bringing me around, cooking meals for me, and orientating me to the new environment. Though I dun cuddle with her every night, it's nice to have company. :P

4) XXXXe
Nice kind soul telling me about things around here. Allowing me to see things beneath the surface.

5) 小胖
OMG i know this person in a bar along 后海. His smses are gross.

On a sidenote, i bought another 5 books! I've a total of 10 books now and I've only finished 2 of them. How kiasu can I be? The singaporean spirit, eh?

Reading is good. I rather enjoy non-fiction books!

I'm enriching myself everyday. At work and at home. Been reading business times online (yes, i subscribed to it one day) and monitoring stock prices (getting my hands on paper trading).

I shall start exercising everyday and quit watching tv cartoons.

This journey here has been quite a learning experience (though I didnt do much work) and quite transformational. You broaden your perspectives, you learn to be more independent and proactive. Hopefully, when I get back to Singapore, I'll be a different lady. ;)

Weekend! My Saviour!

Despite the "mid week crisis" I had, I enjoyed the week cuz weekend was great! As usual.. haha my fav time of a week..

Let me elaborate on the mid week crisis.. I haven't been talking verbally to anyone I feel I needed to talk. So, on wednesday, not being able to stand the quietness of myself, I went out with some other interns for dinner. The reason for overcoming the lazy bug in me? " I need to break the silence." Funny eh

I prepared my own dinner on thurs! It was fantastic.. Healthy subs which helped me enjoy and while away like 2hours ;) I shall learn to cook more dishes! It was fun

Friday, being TGI Friday, gotta be happening.. and it is what it's supposed to be.. Dinner, followed by a nice stroll, followed by dancing with the ah mas, followed by raisin icecream and shisha and mojito and some harmless flirting.. LOL I shall stay outta trouble and just know that I'm attractive even with the extra weight.. :PpP juz jk!

Anws, I think I'm not very good at handling shisha.. My head is throbbing when we reached sherli and tengyi's home. Yeah i stayed over again..

The next morning, I had to take panadols before heading out for shopping.. Anws, shopping was good! I spent twice the amount I normally do :P OMG! It was fruitful though..

Sherli came to stayover with me.. It's comforting to have friends around in the house.. Time seems to pass so quickly when she's here.. :)

Missing all my loved ones

I do miss my loved ones sometimes.. especially when i'm duper bored and alone.

Sorry I'm lazy to post lots of photos.. Although only 3 faces can be seen here, to you who is reading this blog, know that you are missed by yours truly!

This picture reminds me of my youth. Though it's taken not that long ago (2aug2008), it seems like a long time.. I've matured! In a few months, I will officially be an adult. The big 21st! I wonder what life will be like 10 years down the road... The journey of life is rather interesting ;)

Have been watching sex and the city and to my surprise, this show actually made me think. Or possibly, it's cuz I've much more time to think. Or it could be because i'm in a different environment with different people around me and there's a tendency for me to compare my lifestyle to theirs.

Whatever it is, the peace here is therapeutic to a certain extent.. Yet, agonizing when it gets too much. Life requires a delicate balance of things. Life is in your hands. You make your own choices.

Inner Mongolia

Imagine blue skies, open grasslands, deserts, fresh air, big spaces...

That's how inner mongolia is like.. at least the suburbs.. i guess all suburbs are so carefree and.. i like it. The pace of life is just slower when you get there.. It's a wonder how people can stand the boredom and the cold though.. Nowadays, with tourists visiting and lots of outside influence, the locals are also westernized. After their traditional wedding ceremony performance, the entire place was transformed into a nightclub and we 'clubbed' there. So random and hysterical.

It's really a good getaway. The feeling of being with Mother Nature is awesome, not to mention the nice experiences. Horse riding, camel riding and lots of camwhoring.

Fabulous trip.. Nothing like that in good old small Singapore.. I do miss home a little though
