Girls, Girls, and Girls

I know, it's been way tooooo long since I've updated. The last few months since Gracie has been home has been wonderful! Gracie is doing great, growing and changing everyday. Everyone knows we only have Girls in our family, 3 daughters, 5 granddaughters. We had so much fun shopping for easter dresses. I'm sure little boys could ham it up too, but our girls were a hoot, they all twirled in the dressing room, and left the mirrors smudged. Since I've last posted, Macy has lost 2 teeth, Callie and Kadee have had birthdays, Callie actually had 2 since Robyn and Todd were in Houston on her BD. Kourtney has grown a foot and is so grown up now, and Gracie is smiling and talking. God has ben sooo good to us!!! Thank you God for our Girls, big and little!!

Sweet Gracie

Isn't she a doll!!!

Gracie asleep on Mema's chest

It's been a while since I posted as you know! Miss Gracie has been home for a while now and is cute as she can be. She is wearing a monitor 24 hours a day for her heart rate and oxygen levels. Robyn is so good with her, its amazing. She is still a little peanut, weighing about 4lbs 9 oz. Her heart levels dropped Early Thursday morning quite a few times, so the Cardiologist put her in the hospital for observation. She was anemic, one of her medication levels were low, and her lungs showed a hint of a respiratory virus, which may caused the problem. He said the heart valve isn't functioning exactly how it's suppose to, but he didn't think it was the problem for this episode. She is such a good baby, I actually got to keep her Thursday morning while Robyn went to the Valentine Party at Superkids. She likes to cuddle, so that fits right in with me. Great Grandma enjoyed spoiling her too. All but one of my kids go to superkids on Tues. & Thurs. so she got to come to "Mema's" for the first time. Please continue to pray for Gracie's health and growth. now.

Gracie hits 4lbs 0.9 oz

Miss Gracie did it finally, She hit 4lbs .09 oz today. You know, we take childbirth for granted until something happens that changes your life. Four pounds seemed so unreal when Gracie was born. There'd be other babies in Nicu who weighed 4lbs or over and I just thought how great it would be if Gracie weighed 4 lbs. It's so wonderful to see her grow!!!! The nurses all say she's getting to be a big girl!! Music to my ears!!!! Way to go Gracie Robyn!!! LET'S GET HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hooray for Gracie! 4lbs 0.9 oz

She's an absolute doll!!!

Stretch big Gracie

Our sweet little Gracie, 1 month old

Gracie is 1 month and 1 week old. She's doing great, gaining weight every day! It's so amazing, the journey she's taken after arriving in this world! Nicu is a very stressful, sad, but a fulfilling place to be. Yes, you see and hear of sad news, but more often you hear all about all the "little Miracles" there. Gracie is truly one tiny miracle! She has stolen the hearts of all her nurses and they are so amazing with her. Bennie is my favorite, just because she outwardly pours her heart out and you can see her love for all the babies. All the other nurses are good also, but Bennie is the one I'm touched by. Gracie is up to 3lbs 12 oz( and probably a little more by now) and the heart vessel is closing. Yeah!!!! The Dr. told Robyn yesterday(Thurs) she might be home in 3 weeks. God has truly blessed us with Gracie!
Way to go Gracie!! She's actually 3 lbs 12 oz

Kourtney's special 8th Birthday cake

About 31 years ago, I took a cake decorating class At JC Penneys, thinking it would come in handy with my girls birthdays. Actually I was pregnant with Kristi when I took the class. By the way, the same lady teaches classes at Hobby Lobby now. I love doing this, but if you know me, I get very detailed and carried away when I make cakes. My girls aren't too interested in cake decorating, but Kourtney is. I heard through a little bird Kourtney wanted to help me decorate her Birthday cake. It would have been easier, less messy, and I probably would have done it a little different, if I had done it myself. So, Kourtney and Macy came over, spent the night, and we decorated her cake. She wanted Hannah Montana, so away we went. Kristi and Robyn found some HM guitar ornaments, and star shaped ornaments with H Montana's picture on it. We put these on the cake and Kourtney did the rest. She spent almost 3 hours cutting out shapes and letters out of fondant to put on her cake. She was soooooo proud of it when we finished. She said, with a big smile on her face,"My friends are going to love this cake and it's so awesome". All the mess, the time spent, and then the cleanup was all worth every minute of seeing a little girl having the time of her life in her "Memas" kitchen. This is making memories and you can't get any better than that!!! Kourtney, I loved the cake and Happy "8Th" birthday!
The best part of the cake, the icing!
Oh boy! This looks just like playdough

Trying out the new "spray Paint" and it worked

Kourtney rolling out the fondant, fixing to create her cake

She's working hard on her designs!

Putting it all together on the cake!

Macy helped too, she liked the fondant way too much!

The finished product!!
4 hours later and at 12:00 am, were're finished!

Exhausted and full Macy!

Gracie update

Way to go Gracie!!
She still has that arm up and out of the blanket.

All fed, full, and sleepy.

A A new look: snow bunnies and snowflakes, added to her tree!
She has the best decorated shelf in NICU

Today I went with Robyn to see Gracie. She now weighs 3 lbs 3.5 oz. She is filling out and is absoutley a little doll. She was a sleepy head, peeking out of one eye every once in a while. The neonatal Dr, Dr. Sutter, said she couldn't hear the murmur this morning. We're hoping that means the vessel is closing. She drinks about 1& 1/2 oz. of formula each feeding. She is amazing! Please keep the prayers going!!
