Family Picture
I have decided that I really don't like taking family pictures. Rarely is there one picture where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling all at the same time. When we were at a wedding this last weekend we took some pictures as a family. Not surprising that the best picture is the one where we are pulling faces since it wasn't important to all be looking at the camera for that one!

Back to School - HOORAY!
Here are some reasons why I am happy school is starting...
-DISHES - I just loaded my dishwasher for the second time today and I still have dishes in my sink.
-LAUNDRY - I really hate having wet clothing/swimsuits/towels sitting around so I end up doing at least one batch of laundry every other day from all our summer fun.
-TILE - Regardless of our outside rule for Popsicles I am still sticking to my kitchen floor by the end of each day.
-CARPET - It takes all day to get everything cleaned up enough to vacuum and then it is time for bed.
-SLEEP - We are all getting way too little of this and it shows...summer nights are too much fun to spend them inside :)
-KIDS - I am excited because they are excited for the school year to start!!! I love that they love school!
The backpacks are loaded, their new clothes are lined up in their closets, and they have their back-to-school haircuts. HOORAY!!! We are ready to go!!!

Long time no blog time...
It has been a while since I have ventured onto the blogging sphere to post. Lots has been happening and all is well at our house! Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather!
Sometimes I like to take a picture of a fun meal I have prepared or a fun dinner we have made. The last two years I have taken a picture of our family valentine dinner. My kids love lobster! We have started a new tradition of steak & lobster tails for valentines. I decided it is cheaper to make a fancy dinner than to pay a babysitter and go out to eat. Lucky for me the kids appreciate the meal as does my sweatheart!

Funny how I still had the same valentine napkins both years. I like to stock up :)
I like eating eggplant but I had never made it before. This was my first attempt and I was quite pleased with myself :)
Below are a few posts from our spring...maybe in the fall I will post our summer happenings :)

Brother Bear
Whenever I see moose I am reminded of the movie Brother Bear. I just love the moose!! We came upon this little family and I thought about Rutt and Tuke...
Rutt: Oh, gee! I think he's seen us, eh! Now what?
Tuke: Act like we're not here.
Rutt: Oh. Ah, we're not here!
Kenai: I'm not a bear. I hate bears.
Rutt: Well, gee, eh, you're one big beaver.
Rutt: You wouldn't like us, eh. We're really gamey.
Tuke: Ya... eat hoof for brains over there.
Rutt: Oh nice, eh. Pinecone breath!
Tuke: Crusty tail!
Rutt: Twig legs!
Tuke: Big nose!
Rutt: [gasp]
Tuke: ...sorry.
Rutt: You went too far that time.

Preschool Fun
Here are some cute pictures from the Preschool Program! Our little guy loved his preschool teacher and the preschool grandma that always gave him gummy bears for being good :)
Springtime!?
We picked the perfect spring day to set up our new playset for the kids...uhm...well...there wasn't anything else to do outside in the freezing hailstorm!! My hardworking hubby had put a few pieces together and concreted in the main structure earlier but most of it he did all in one day. After I took these pictures I was out helping put the other set of shingles on the roof. Not such a great idea in the wind but we got it finished.

THE FINISHED PRODUCT:
The Orange Soccer Balls
We had a great time watching "The Orange Soccer Balls" this year!!! We especially liked watching the cutie who always managed to score a couple of goals each game!! He had a great time!
Boston Tea Party
Our oldest learned about the American Revolution this year. As part of their learning experience they had a "tea party". Our son was assigned to dress up as Paul Revere. He had a great time putting together his costume. Kids from all the other grades came into his classroom and he had the opportunity to tell them about Paul Revere.
Spring Dance Recital
Here is our Princess all dressed up for her dance recital. She loved every minute of it...okay she didn't love that I had to leave her backstage but other than that she was in heaven. She loves to wear make-up! She loved wearing her dance costume! She loved having her hair curly! She loved that so many people came to see her! She loved her flowers from her brothers! It is easy to say that she just loved being a Princess!

School Program
We have a amazing teachers at our school! We were able to attend the family multi-cultural night. Each grade performed musical numbers...at least one number with a musical instrument (often one they made). The music teachers rock! The art teacher covered the halls with artwork they have been doing this year. Each grade have specific themes they learn about and she integrates art with their lessons. Then the classrooms were convereted into different countries and crafts for the kids. We had a great night!
Everyday cute...
I love to catch my kids doing their every day cute grins! They really give my life meaning and purpose!
