Everybody go Aawwww!

Because I'm missing out on all the CNY fun and festivities back home, I decided that I needed to do something to cheer myself up!

I had dinner on CNY Eve with Jon's family - but had to leave early and skip dessert cause I needed to get to work :( Yes, I'm on depressing nights again... a longggg run too!

And then attended CNY family dinner at his aunt's which was fantastic~! She's such a fantastic cook! But there weren't the usual mahjong and blackjack games like they do back home. No red decor's everywhere... I didn't even get to see the lion dances in Chinatown cause I was working...

So, I decided to make myself happy by looking at cute pics of Remy and playing with him :D hehehe... It's too hot to even bring him outside for a walk. It's a stinking 38 degrees today, and is expected to be 40 and above during the week....

Anyways, I thought I should share with you guys my little pride and joy~!

Happified Remy @ The Botanical Gardens - he's tired... but looking oh-so-happy chasing ducks around the pond. This is him, having a little rest...

Yes, he sometimes knows how to pose for photos! :)

I just love love love this photo of him! I think I shall develop this into a hardcopy - and hang it at home, or even just to keep in my wallet.

The face he gives you when he wants something from you. More often than not, it's something that you're eating... I am a suckerrrr.... always give in to his cuteness :(

"Mommy, I'm here~! Can I have some food pretty pleaseeeeeee??"

This one's my ultimate favourite! Don't ask me why.... he's just soooo cute here!
It's my desktop photo for now :)
And I think it will be, for some time to come... for my Remy boy's bald now... at least for this summer. The sun's sooo scorchy hot, it's not even funny!

Well, at least my clothes will dry quickly, and I don't even have to waste electricity using the dryer :P ekekek...

Sigh, HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR, everyone! I hope you're having more fun than I am! I should really make an attempt to go home for CNY next year! Like... seriouslyyyy! Need to grab all those angpows that I've missed out on over the years.

Mornington Madness

Here are some pics from the long overdue trip that we made to Mornington Peninsula during the Christmas - New Year's period. Blogger wouldn't let me upload the pics previously, which has been really really annoying!! I have no idea what's wrong with blogger. I had to upload the pics one by one for it to work... damn dur!

Anyways, I'd let the pics do the talking. Jacy drove that day, while I acted as the navigator. Thank God we didn't get lost **phew**

First off, we headed to the Red Hill Cherry Farm.

A compulsory pic of the three of us, while people at the background were busy picking cherries! We were fortunate enough that it was a fantabulous day. Sunny, but not toooo hot, as it was still breezy. Just nice :)

Who would have thought that I'd bump into Amy?? All the way in Mornington Peninsula! Hahaha... yeaps, she was also there with her family :) Small world huh??

We left after picking enough cherries to last us the whole week.  Paid for them and then adjourned to the strawberry farm instead... Yes, we love fruits.

Funny picking strawberries at Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm.

It was so difficult finding huge strawberries in the arvo. I think all the good ones have already been picked in the morning.
Geez, picking strawberries is wayyy more difficult than picking cherries cause you gotta bend your back and look for them, whereas you can see the cherries on the trees :)

Some good samaritan offered to take a photo for us in front of sunny ridge :) kekekeke... Thank you Mr.

Trying to swallow my strawberry sundae whole!! It was reallll yummmm.... especially on a hot day. Super treat!

Strawberries galore!! Jacy's red sunnies and red bag matches all the strawberries. She claimed it wasn't intentional though.

A short stop-over @ Arthur's Seat.

Enjoying the peaceful and serene sceneries at the Murray Lookout.
"I'm on top of the world!!"

The air was crisp and clean... Ahhh... so totally refreshing! A great way to enjoy the weekend, being away from work and stress. All that's missing.... is a hammock :) and some girls serving cocktails. Hahaha.

Later on, we went to The Enchanted Maze to test our brain power. My brain is wayyyy rusted, as I haven't used it in years! keke.

Us taking a rest under the shade.

Acting silly, mimicking Miss fountain ballerina...
Oh how I miss my sister! Miss doing everything with her, to doing nothing at all...

Funny & Jacy - trying to solve some puzzle. I gave up after like... the first 3 or so? hehehe...

Headed to the beach in the evening, just when the sun's not so scorchy. We couldn't really wait till the sun sets, cause it's summer... and I wasn't prepared to sit there till 8.30 pm without having eaten anything. I was dying to get some fresh fish and chips for dinner... hehe.

Jacy and I @ Rye beach... or was it Sorrento, or Portsea? Hehehe... I get confused. It's all continuous anyways! Who really cares? hehe.

Was it a bird, was it a plane, was it superman???
NO!!
It was just us being super silly :P

Happified Jacy and Funny :D

That's why holidays are superb! Cause you get to relax and totally enjoy yourself, be silly... and nobody really cares~!!! Thank you Jacy, for driving... Thank you Funny, for being such great company and making me do all these touristy stuff :) hehe.

More updates to come, people... Have a good long weekend! Happy Australia Day, and Gong Xi Fa Cai everyone!!

Goodbye Grandpa

I was driving back from work the other day when I read my sister's SMS - about my granddad's passing. It has been a frantic day at work, but now my mind's even more frantic thinking about how he left us.

Just. like. that.

I've never been really close to him. In fact, the last time I remember having a proper conversation with him other than the usual "hi's" and "bye's", mostly during Chinese New Year, was when I was five and living in KL.

But I couldn't stop thinking about him, and of course grandma and everyone back home upon hearing the news. I had to go home... Managed to get myself a flight the next night back to KL - just in time to attend the wake and the funeral.

It's been a hectic week - both physically and emotionally for everyone. I'm currently back in Melbourne. To all my friends in KL, I'm sorry I did not inform anyone that I was back... purely cause this time, it wasn't for fun and games. It was to pay my last respect, and to spend quality time with my family... which I did.

I love every single one of you... very very much!

Grandpa, I hope you're now in a better place...

Thank you baby...

I haven't thanked you for all the things you did recently.

Yes, I know you were thrilled by the gift I got you **I'm very happy with my purchase, cause it made you grin like a little boy the whole evening**
But I just wanna let you know, I'm glad that we're still smiling after all these years.
That things haven't died down, and that we're not just contented, and too comfortable with each other.

Jon & Mei - @ Village Doncaster watching Bolt in 3D

Thanks for always wanting to do new things to keep our relationship alive.

Thanks for buying me that hugeeee rose and made me carry it everywhere in the mall...
Those ladies in the cinema were like "AwwwWw.... we want one too!"
and when we went out again to get popcorns and went back in again....
"Yeap! We remember the rose!" Hahaha... it was amusing yet mildly embarassing at the same time.

Thank you for the yummy breakfast that you make,
Thank you for being such a great host when my sister was here,
Thank you for those lovely evenings walks,
Thank you for pushing me on the swing when I feel like being a little girl,
Thank you for always holding my hand, and always holding me close,
Thank you for vacuuming the house and doing the laundry,
Thank you for the sweet kisses on the forehead,
*and of course the passionate kisses on the lips*,
Thank you for the cuddles when I go to bed.

Thank you for giving me the good with the bad,
So that I remain human - One that's able to laugh, and cry.
To love, and get hurt... yet never afraid to love again.
Never afraid to go on that journey,
Because I know you're always on the journey... with me.

I love you daddy poo...
and of course, Remy too! :)
*muah*

Funnylicious Boxing Day 08

I think it's about time to update my blog. It's been abandoned for awhile, first because I moved house and didn't have internet. And then Funny was here to spend Christmas and NY with me, so I was too busy doing other stuff... and hence this blog has been neglected.

I mean, who needs to blog when your friends and family are with you rite? **I blog so my friends and family are updated to what I've been up to** It's wayyyy better telling them first hand~! Hehehe...

Anyways, here are some pics from our Boxing Day outing.

Mei and Funny @ the Myer Christmas Window Display.

This year, the displays were on "How Santa really works" - showing everything from receiving letters from kids from all around the world, to sorting them, manufacturing gifts, taking care of the reindeers, packaging, sending etc. It was lots of fun!!

We spent almost the whole day shopping in the city! Went home with quite a few holes in the wallet... hehehe... We took the train down to the city from Camberwell, and back! It's awesome not having to drive to the train station anymore! I love my new place... It's so close to the train, trams.... and also BBQ in the park~!!

That night, we decided to have a super ad-hoc BBQ by the park next to our house. We invited Sweet Ping as well, cause she lives soooo close to us, and Funny hasn't had a chance to catch up with her...

Mei cooking dinner :) The best part is... the BBQ is freeeeee~!!! Whee!! Not coin operated, but free!!!

Remy poopie decided to join us as well :) My little boy was sniffing the BBQ'ed food, and refused to eat his own food. Naughty naughty!!

Ash came too! He was back from Brissy for Christmas and New Year's to spend some quality time with his family...

Happy faces :)

After dinner, we adjourned back home for some Wii fun on the Mario Kart! Jon was furious that Mario Kart didn't go on sale anywhere on Boxing Day!! **EVERYTHING goes on sale on Boxing Day, but nope... not Mario Kart** Dang~!!!

Sweet Ping, Funny, Jonny boy and Ash - engrossed with the game... except for SP. Sorry we only had 3 controllers, so we had to take turns.

Games and beer - what more can one ask for, rite??? :) The house was filled with lotsa fun and laughters!!

Christmas was awesome this year although I had to work nights. It wasn't busy at all, so I got to sleep... Christmas Day was spent with Jon and family **sorry forgot to snap photos**, and Boxing Day with friends and loved ones! Just perfect :)

Now, I only wish I could spend CNY at home with my extended family... Too bad I'm working again :( sighhh...

*Now, stay tuned for more posts~!**
