The End Is The Beginning...

Tomorrow will be the last day of my general medical rotation @ Maroondah Hospital, with Med Unit 1. It was an eventful day. We had a family meeting for one of our lovely patient, and in the end, the family members gave me a bigggg hug! Another lady was getting discharged today, told me all the nice places to visit while I'm in Bairnsdale... She and her hubby literally sat down and chatted with me for almost 15 minutes, gave me some lollies, and wished me luck!

The nursing staff were tremendous as well! June, the ward clerk, came to tell us:
"Mei and Andrew, Essy wants to see you guys in the meeting room to discuss something"
"Oh ok. What's it about?"
"About some patient I think"

We went in and everyone was inside! They surprised us with a nice speech, to thank us, and surprised us with gifts! It was such an emotional moment! Knowing that your work has been appreciated... and your company enjoyed by everyone...

My pretty flowers, the little heart shaped cutesy balloon, and the lovely card from the nurses!

Eventhough we were in the busiest med unit in the hospital... the time spent was certainly enjoyable! The consultant gave me an excellent evaluation feedback, and everyone was just too nice...

It's been real good! :) It's kinda sad to close this chapter, and start a new one... but who knows? It might be real good too!
We'll find out next week!

My baby, after all these months.

For those who didnt know, I've been contemplating having a baby for months. But I didn't know if I could afford one... cause it's not just a once off thing you know?? You need to take care of the little fella and all...

And in the end, I decided that I should have it...

My little Macbook hero :)

Absolutely love my new baby! :)

No regrets at all!

Swept Off My Feet...

LITERALLY!!!

It was really windy when I drove to work today. Maybe it's because I drive a small car, but I could really feel the wind... and somehow, I felt unsteady and unsafe... But I didn't give it too much thought, and got to work just fine...

BUT,

As I was leaving the hospital, I saw the ambulance dashing off with its siren on, and the State Emergency Services (SES) vehicle speeding away... and I thought to myself, maybe something bad happened...

And the moment I got into my car and drove home, I realised that today was one of the windiest day ever! In Victoria! Trees fell in the middle of the road, blocking traffic, and roof tiles were being blown away... Maybe it's psychological, but I kinda felt my car swerving! I was kinda scared really...

**pic taken from www.theage.com.au**

All I could think of was "Hurry up... get home safe, and park your car in the garage so that it doesn't get blown away!"

I felt pretty silly, but I was thinking of ways to maintain traction on the road... Wound down the windows to reduce the resistance,
**don't know if it was a good idea, but it somehow made a little sense then** but it was so windy, that sand got blown into my eyes.... so I had to wind up the windows again... :( Yes yes, I know it was pretty silly of me... I'm an inexperienced driver ok?? Cut me some slack! :P

And seriously, I've never driven under such bad weather condition! Heavy rain and stuff... I can still deal with! But horizontal wind? Man....

I was even trying to work out whether it's better for me to drive faster? or slower, if the wind was horizontal?? All the time, I was hoping that some building/vehicle will be next to me, so it'll block off the strong wind! Hahaha. The little twister/sandstorm near the hospital, where they were doing construction work was quite a sight!

Anyway, all that matters is... I got home safe... and so did my car :) PHEW!!!

BBGS, We Pledge To Thee...

I received this from Wan the other day...

Too bad I'd still be working, and worst of all, in woop woop land during the reunion party! So sorry guys, I can't be there with you all! But I'm sure it's gonna be a blast! It'll be great to catch up with mates we've lost touch with for the last decade. I'm sure everyone's successful in their own ways! Some may even have family, and kids...

Receiving the invitation brought back lots of memories...
Both good and bad... of being in school...
But most importantly, it served as a reminder...

Once a BBGSian, always a BBGSian...

It doesn't matter if the school's no longer physically there...
We're all still here...

The weekend that was...

As I mentioned earlier, Ade, Licheng and I woke up early on Sunday to go to Camberwell market. We got there around 10 and the place was packed with people... all kinds of people. Random people selling the most random stuff, and there are actually heaps of people who buy them!!!

I personally felt that it was a waste of my time, cause everything there was like... super duper old! Some people call them vintage, but seriously, there were like... uurrr... junks? I mean, come on... they're only vintage if they're like... old, but in really good condition :D **that's my definition anyway** Like, seriously, how do you sell a doll that has like... half a head left?? Needless to say, I did not buy anything...

But we managed to salvage our morning by having brekkie at Laurent :D YUMMMMM!

Just love love love it!!

We then went to Ikea to do some home shopping, cause Addy needed to get a rug for her place. I bought a lavender scented candle. It was quite weird, the two of us carrying the big rug to the car. Hehehe...

Addy and Mei cooking dinner.

I invited Addy over for dinner cause I was gonna make seafood tom yum noodles. Jon loves them!! Jacy then called, just at the right time as well, so she came over and joined us for dinner...

Jon-ny boy washing up. How domesticated indeed...

The night ended with the girls being spastic, and tattooig ourselves! Jon had one too. Tee hee hee... It's just at a spot that I can't show! :P :P :P

Hope everyone's had a good weekend too...

This weekend's gonna be crap, cause I'm working on Sunday :( I wanna go hit balls at the driving range!!!! HOW HOW????

I've been Mac-ed!

Yes, the crossover is official...
I now belong on the other side...

*more about it later*

Tadaa for now~! Take care everybody!!

Weekend Delights~!

As winter's approaching, and the weather's getting colder and wetter, the most common thing to do would be...

EAT, EAT and... EAT MORE!!!

We met up with Mark the other day before he flew off to Taiwan, to have hotpot dinner with him. Went to Sichuan Restaurant @ Box Hill with him, since he claimed that nobody likes going there with him cause they're can't tolerate the chilli hot pot there!

It's kinda crazy, I gotta admit!! The dried chilli oil soup is so hot that it literally numbs your taste buds and nerves!!! But it was damn good though! Nothing beats hotpot in winter!!!

Last night, Uncle Peter invited us to have dinner at his place... but we already made plans with Addy and LiCheng to have dinner with them... So in the end, we all ended up having dinner at Jon's mom and dad's... and then heading out for supper and dessert @ Pancake Parlour in Century City.

Addy & Jon

Addy was quite fascinated with the countdown rockets in Pancake Parlour... Jon, being the boy he is... obviously played along with her... Oh by the way, talk about being a boy... Jon bought those little cartoon thingy that hangs off your mobile?? to put on his mobile phone from the flee market last night!! **slaps forehead**

As for me, I got a bargain, buying a pair of cutesy earrings for only $10. Hopefully, it'll last for awhile, and not give me any allergic reactions! Heeheehee...

Mei & Li Cheng...

We then headed home around 11.30 to have an early night, cause Jon had to wake up early this morning to play golf, and I made plans to go to Camberwell Market... but that deserves another post all together!

So... I guess this is it for tonight.. I'm going to bed now. SO SO NOT looking forward to getting back to work tomorrow! Sighhh...

I Miss You...

I miss how the both of us never fail to attract the crowd...

Although not always in a good way *tee hee hee* Like how silly we were at Michael's wedding when they announced popo's name... and we went crazy?!

Maybe you were right, when you said that we're indeed twins, but mom just didn't realise you were there, hence you came later! Hee hee hee...

I miss you, heaps!

and mom, and dad, and popo, and ah yee, and do re mi... and the food, and my friends, and the list goes on!

SO HOW ARE YOU?!

Complication...

I know this is yet another one of those days...

Someone once said to me that I think too much,
Even for someone who thinks alot...
Perhaps it's true..
I can't escape from myself...

Why do people torture themselves this way??
Worrying about things wayy too far ahead in the future?
Pondering upon hyothetical situations?
Acting like a character in some fictional story??

When you put your ultimate trust on someone,
How would you feel if he/she had lied to you?
It may not be a harmful lie... maybe just a little one,
To save his/her face, ego... I don't know...

Should I pursue the matter??
Or should I bury the past, cause it's dead?
Or at least it's meant to be...
ArGghhHh

This wouldn't have been an issue if he/she was entirely honest to begin with...

Sheesh... I'm such a drama queen! :( :(
And I hate it!

A Game of Jenga Ultimate...

Addy came over for dinner... and we decided to get into a little bit of fun and games...

Up, up, up... to infinity and beyond.... *yeah rite*

Little Hongkie-looking boy having a go *doesn't his new pair of glasses make him look really Hongkie?

Claiming to be the best... NOT! :P Bleh... Hehehehe...

Just felt like being random tonite...

Waiting for Uncle Peter to come get us for dinner... We're going to Jon's uncle's place for some family dinner thingy tonite. Hopefully, it's not gonna be too late by the time we finish. It's all the way in Eltham, and I start work at 8am tomorrow...

So anyway, take care everyone! :D Ciao!!

A little "yucky" token...

I've been treating him for about 6 weeks before he got discharged from the hospital, and he's been back to outpatients' for review twice. He's an elderly gentleman, who's ever so nice and smiley whenever you see him.... and his wife, lovely! They just make the cutest couple ever...

Today, as I was calling my patients into the room during outpatients clinic, they waved from across the waiting room and asked how I was. I casually chatted with them for about a minute before my patient came, and we went into the consulting room. They asked if I was going to be the one seeing them.... and I said "Well, we'll see how your luck is today!" and off I went with my patient...

Unfortunately, I didn't get to see them. My registrar was already seeing them in the rooms when I finished with my patient... but none-the-less, I hung around for awhile, looking through pathology results after clinic ended for me. My reg then knocked on my door and asked what I was doing... and said that they wanted to say hi to me...

I went into the room when they handed me an eggplant!! All because I casually mentioned 4 weeks ago that I liked eggplants and they grow eggplants on their little vege patch! How thoughtful!!!

I know it's only a little vegetable, but the token of appreciation was bigger than ever! To me at least... I really loved it! I couldn't stop showing off my little eggplant to my reg, Andrew and Sarah. Jon was like "YUCK! I don't like eggplant!" It may be yucky for him, but definitely not for me...

THANKS Mr. and Mrs. G! I love it! It really means alot to me... knowing that the little bit I did, touched your hearts.

I don't have to do big things in life to make a difference. Only little things sincerely... with all my heart...

Perhaps the eggplants are going to taste sweet? ;) Hehehe...

Mixed Emotions...

How would you feel if you were casually missed out from the invitation list?
Intentional or not...
Not even a call, not even a word...

And what makes it worse,
is that your friend that was present at that time,
even gave you a call...
but conveniently forgot to mention where they were,
or what they were doing...

Friends...
Things they can do for you,
Things they can do yo you...

Just makes you wonder sometimes...
if that word truly fits the person...

Should one be angry?
Does one truly have the right to be??
