This is the first time ever, that I'm blogging from the hospital. My most relaxed weekend cover ever! **keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it'll stay that way**. Haven't had too many pages as yet, and most of my own patients are pretty stable :)
Despite the calamity, my heart is still racing, and my emotions weirder than ever... not because of the patients' medical issues, but rather... my conflicting self. I don't quite know what it is, and I can't pinpoint it to a discrete cause... but I know there's something. Just... something.
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night, with this strange feeling of your heart being tied in knots? It's not anger... it's not hatred nor vengeance. It's not anything I can put into words. Perhaps, it's a subconscious battle between my body, and my mind... about what I wanna do, and what I truly want... for myself, my happiness.
Anyway, I'm just rambling here... and I still can't quite describe what it is... and perhaps, I never will... only time will tell.
I only hope that this is not the calm before the storm. I am not quite prepared for that shocking awakening...
The life of a girl, who's frequently searching for her real inner self, for answers, for the meaning of life. Confident and "happy-go-lucky" on the outside, but an insecure, pessimistic girl deep inside. Constantly aiming to be more refined, mature, true and right.

Mud Crab Chefs :)
As we were having dinner @ Chaddy the other day, Jon asked if I knew how to cook lobsters! and I obviously had no idea!! He then asked "What about crabs?"
So the both of us just decided to take a plunge to cook chilli crabs, and invited Helen and Sam over for dinner and catch-up. They made oysters and we made mud crabs.
First of all, you need the chef.... and all the ingredients of course...

Jon with an apron!! Tee hee hee...
Then, you need the victim :D The huge male mud crabs!!

Aren't they just cute? **when they're not agro**
To kill the crabs humanely, you put them into a plastic bag,

That's us... stuffing those boys into the plastic bag.

and then put them into the freezer... This puts them to sleep :) *ZzZzZzz*

After about an hour or so, they can be taken out, and boiled for awhile in boiling water... to make sure they're dead. You can then remove their shell, and chop them up into 4-6 pieces.

After cutting them into smaller pieces, clean their guts and gills and other eeky stuff out! This is the yuckiest part of the whole cooking process.... trust me!

After that, the crabs should be coated with corn flour, and lightly fried... to cook them a little bit... but not too long. :D Then, fry shallots with garlic and ginger till soft, and add in the pounded shrimp paste, lemongrass, galangal, and chillies... Add in the lightly fried crabs earlier... and simmer for about 7-8 minutes.

Mei tossing and mixing the crabs...

Then... WAHLAAAAA!!! Garnish with coriander and spring onions, and we're done!!! Yummo crabs!! :D

We had noodles with the crabs too... The gravy from the mud crabs blended really well with the noodles.... :)

Helen and Sam with the crabs, and oysters they made...

Cleaning time, baybeh!!!

Well, at the end of it, there were 4 happified people... with 3 huge crabs in their tummy.... kekekekekke.... I'd say, it was pretty damn good for a first timer! Restaurant level... definitely! *if not better!* Hehehe.

Cirque Du Soleil - Varekai
For the first time in my life, I worked late on a Wednesday because I wanted to... Not because I was scheduled to. That was because I got tickets to Cirque Du Soleil - Varekai that I couldn't say no to. So I got Andrew to swap shifts with me! And he was so very kind to do so!! Thank you Andrew! If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be able to catch the show!

We had fantastic tickets! They were really good seats! On the very first row of the A reserve, right behind the VIPs. And the aisle was right in front and beside us, so we got a really close look of the acrobats and performers as they crossed our paths. Hehehehehe... Although most of the time, they just whisk past!
It was simply spectacular! Hehehe... Jon kept exclaiming "This is the best show I've ever seen in my entire life!"
Too bad we weren't allowed to snap photos in the circus tent... So we only snapped a few outside, at the souvenirs' tent. :D

Jon and I both bought a top each :D We wanted to buy the DVD as well, but it was so expensive! We've seen them cheaper at JB HiFi... hehehe... so I guess, we were being tight arses and didn't wanna pay extra for them. Kekekeke.

Little Jonny at the cashier counter.

Mei mucking around with the many merchandise they were selling. The face masks and stuff were really nice, but they were also very expensive! I was quite tempted to buy one, but I figured that I'll never ever be able to use it... so I settled for a top instead. At least, it's something more practical...
Well, all in all, it was simply awesome! Those who are planning to catch it, you better buy your tickets soon, as I'm quite sure they just released their last allocation! And I'm not even sure if there are any good seats left! But anyhoo... good luck!!! :D
They're really good.... Jon couldn't stop rambling about them the whole night... Hehehehe...

My Last Day of Bludging...
Monday was exceptionally priceless for it was the last day of the long Easter weekend... I would have slept it abit more if it's not for Jacy who came knocking on my door at 8.30am (well, not literally knocking) - but yeah, she just finished her shift, and came over to have a nap. She didn't wanna go home for she would fall asleep like a pig, and not wake up till the night falls.
Addy made reservations for yumcha @ Taipan for us. Thanks babe~! I can't imagine us getting a table if she didn't! It was like a war zone at the carpark. I was just telling Jon jokingly:
"If anyone wants to kill the Chinese community, all they need to do is come here, and bomb this place"
And he laughed... and added "and Box Hill" Hahahahha

Yumcha @ Taipan, Doncaster.
Thank God the wait wasn't too long. The place was packed!!!

Ade & Jacy

Stripey us :D Hehehe. And NO, we didn't plan it!

Li Cheng & Karen.
I'm so honoured to have Li Cheng join us the other day. She's always too busy sleeping. Hahahaha... You pig! Always in need of sleep... :P But oh well, now I understand how she feels, considering my colleague's been sick for 3 days, and I've been covering late.... IT SUCKS TO MANAGE ALL 40 PATIENTS BY YOURSELF. I'm so tiredddd :(
Anyways, I digress.... back to yumcha :D

Karen & Richard...

Ade, Jacy & Mei
After yumcha, Addy and the rest went to watch 300, but Jon and I already borrowed Casino Royale from the DVD shop last night.... and it was an overnight loan, so we had to watch it and return it.... So we had to pass on 300. Although, I really wanna watch that show~! Ade, was it good???
So we came home, and watch Casino Royale, while playing Jenga Ultimate. :D

Jacy having a go..
Apparently, Jon claimed that we both sucked at it, and that he could trash us anytime... So, we shall see... a match some day, baby???
Anyways, Jon was mucking around as usual... He was playing around with the Krispy Kreme paper hats that we got the last time we bought some doughnuts. He had it on the whole time he was vacuuming the lounge, and insisted that I had it on while I cook dinner as well.... Strange boy... But he's so funny, he makes me laugh all the time! Thanks baby, for spicing up my life! :D

Jon forcing me to wear the hat. Hehehe.

And I shall leave you guys with a pic of us, goofing around... Heheheh..
Hope all of you had a good and enjoyable Easter. Mine was quite good, considering I didn't have to work the Easter weekend at all :) Woohoo!!!
Back to reality it is for me now, and worse than ever! I'm covering my buddy that's been sick for 3 days, and dang, I'm tiredddd :( Off to bed I shall go now. BYE!!

Unintentional...
She never meant to hurt him.
It was kinda childish a way to get the message through.
She didn't have to,
But she did...
But now,
At least he sees that the way he feels about him,
Is just the same about the way she feels about her.

Drowning...
Today, she stormed out of the house,
With nowhere to go...
She was just walking aimless,
Sobbing like there was no tomorrow.
She hates being the angry woman that she is,
She hates herself for being this way,
All irrational, illogical at times.
But at the same time,
She can't allow her to lose herself.
She can't allow herself to keep giving in,
To keep getting pushed to the edge.
She is absolutely,
Drowning in confusion,
Not wanting to let go,
Not quite sure how to go on...
With nowhere to go...

Sobbing like there was no tomorrow.

Making A Little Difference...
What's the difference between being a doctor and being a nurse??
Besides the title in front of your name of course...
Most of the time, if you asked a patient,
He/she will be closer to the nurse rather than the doctor,
Partially because they're in contact with them more often,
Not just like the doctors who whisk in and out of the rooms...
Sometimes, when I"m doing rounds,
I just feel as if the doctor's not really listening to the patient's concerns,
Not really treating them... but rather, their illness...
Everytime I see that,
I constantly tell myself that I don't wanna be that way,
And that is why, I always try to give them an extra minute or two,
Allow them to talk about their pets, or their grandchildren,
Or... nothing at all really.
Even if it means I may not get off work on time...
Even if it means I'd have to stay an extra hour everyday to finish my work.
Cause that little bit of your time could mean alot to the person on the receiving end...
And today, I was on the receiving end...
I received...
a big easter egg from her.
I smiled,
and she smiled...
And I know that I made a little difference to her,
during her extended stay here with us.
HAPPY EASTER~!
May you get well soon...
