There is just too much tension around lately...

Too many issues unresolved,
Too much differences not addressed,
Too many reasons and excuses,
Too many harsh words thrown around.

Too many cracks on the vase...

Merry Christmas, all...

Hello everyone...

It's been awhile since I last updated. Haven't been up to much really...
Been working nights since I got back.

Here, I am... at work again. *sigh*
On Christmas night...
It feels really sad tonight in the wards.
Everyone seems to be sad that they're in hospital on Christmas Day...
whether you're a patient, whom your day leave has been denied by the medical staff,
Or a staff member...
Who's cursing the allocations / rostering officer...
The truth is, nobody wants to be here today.

I had to leave early from a Christmas dinner in Eltham to get to work on time...
and eventhough I'm not a believer in Santa Claus,
I don't attend Christmas masses in church,
I don't go carolling... I don't have a Christmas tree at home...
It still feels sad, having to come to work,
when everyone else is having quality family bonding time,
Over turkey and wine.

Have a Merry Christmas everyone~! I certainly hope your Christmas is merrier than mine...

I am back!!!

I am back in Melbourne!

Just a quick update :)

Arrived yesterday morning... Jon told me that Cle was picking me up, but he lied! He actually took a day off work so he could pick me up from the airport and spend time with me~! That was sweet of him!!

Went home to be greeted by excited lill Remy! :) Had something light to eat, and then headed to bed. I couldn't fall asleep for some reason in the plane, and hence was really exhausted from the ride.

Didn't do much yesterday. Went to Chadstone, to scout for discounts, so I knew what to get on Boxing Day!! hehehe... but we ended up making quite a big purchase!

A new 32'' Samsung LCD TV :) Oh yeahhh baybeh!! It was on catalogue discount. $1499 to $1366. And since we paid cash, we managed to get the guys to bring it down to $1300. :) So yes, we now have a new TV! To watch all the new DVD's I brought home...

--------------

And here are some pics from last Saturday...

Karen, the busiest woman in the world, finally made time to see me before I left :P hehehe.. We went to "Little Penang Cafe @ The Curve" for lunch...

Chubby faced Mei, Darren, and Karen...

I ordered my favourite, char kueh teow! It came with cockles! How authentic indeed!!! Although I had to wait about 15 minutes for it, it was absolutley YUMMY!!! Baby, if you're reading this, it's wayyy better than Nyonya Hut :)

I dragged Funny along too, cause she hasn't had lunch.. and I wanted to spend more time with her before I left...

Killed 2 birds with one stone there ;)

Chee Wei then called and asked where I was, and wanted to catch up for drinks before I left... Yeah yeah, it was sorta like my last day out, so my schedule was really really packed.

Met up with Chee Wei @ One Utama... still one of the largest shopping complexes in PJ.
Just look at the fascinating Christmas Decor... I absolutely love the not-so-little toy soldier! He movesssss~!!! Damn super cute...

Caught up with Chee Wei @ Secret Recipe...

He's moved back to KL from Brunei... Yay!! Will get to catch up with him next time I go back to KL.

Met Jian Wen, Meng Yew, Han Sen, Yu Lin and Li Ling @ WIP in Bangsar, and then moved on for drinks at La Bodega next door on Saturday night, but I forgot my camera... so no pictures there :)

Jian Wen shouted us dinner that night because he was absolutely fashionably 1.5 hours late that night!!! But we forgave him, cause he got lost, and ended up in the land of roundabouts, Shah Alam!!! when he turned out from Subang, hoping to get onto the highway to get to Bangsar. That idiot took the wrong turn, and didn't even realise it until it was too late! Hahahaha...

Well,

It was good seeing everyone that day, that night, that trip back home... Will miss you guys heaps!!

ps: Li Ling, I'll see you on Thursday, alrite?

Untitled...

Without really thinking about it, I started downloading Janice's songs.... and then listened to them over, and over again...

Slowly, I couldn't stop those tears from rolling down my cheeks...

I wish I could call you, but I'm sure you would be asleep at this hour.
I wish I could borrow your shoulder to cry on,
But I can't.
I wish I could be in your embrace now,
But I can't.
I wish you could just be here,
to tell me everything'll be alright.
But you aren't...

Dear,

I hope you received the kisses that I blew,
I hope you printed all the mental pictures that I drew,
I wish you knew that, this is oh-so-true.
Cause baby,
I am just so tired of feeling blue.

i.miss.you

On a brighter, irrelevant note:

Siok Mei finally loaded the photos. **which I stole from her Facebook*

Us with the awesome christmas decor.

Haven't seen this gal in about 4 years~! She still looks the same...
Met up with her the other day at the Pavilion, and spent the whole arvo just catching up,
and updating each other about the future...

It's been good, girl.

All the best, and I'll catch you again next year :)

I need to stop being emo, and get some sleep...

After 8 long years...

Everyone knows that I get EMO everytime I come home... I think of all the things I've been missing over the years... and I realised, that I haven't seen some of my close friends for years!!

Back during our care free school days, we used to go out and have Macca's every other day after school... We would walk all the way to Jalan Alor, just to have that famous pan mee noodle for lunch, and having to wait almost an hour for it all the time!

We would swap school bags, pencil cases with each other, so we'd look "different" everyday... Oh, those were the days.

Ai Hwa, Lai Kuan, Mei

Anyways, we actually managed to catch up this time around~! After 8 long years!!! OMG! I can't believe that I haven't seen them since high school! And yes, I'm olddddd :(

We went to Sakae Sushi @ The Curve for dinner...

Lai Kuan with that Taiwanese kawaii pose. Psst, actually you kinda look like you're sticking your middle finger out! :P Tee hee heee

And then proceeded to Prince Cafe in SS2 for dessert and drinks. We were driving around, looking for a tong sui place, cause my throat feels like crap, and I'm coughing... but we couldn't find one. So, I decided on this place that has quite a unique drinks menu instead.

They made me settle for a hot honey lemon drink to soothe my throat, but they ordered funky stuffs ~! GgRrrR... unfair!!

Look at their cutesy light installations :)

Mei and Lai Kuan, with her strawberry drink with milk jelly or something... Supposedly, it's quite nice. I didn't dare try it, cause I didn't wanna spread my "love" *germs* and make them all sick!

Ai Hwa & Mei - ex deskmates! This girl doesn't age... I'm sooo jealous! You still look like you do, 10 years ago! Damnit!

It was really nice catching up with them, and be silly again.... and not care what others think of us! Hahahaha...

Okay, I really didn't know what that was about! Perhaps, the little "Winnie the Pooh" bandaid I had on my finger unleashed the child within me...

We stayed around till about midnight. Had to leave because the girls had to work the next day... But will definitely meet up again, the next time I'm back~! Perhaps, someone will drop the bomb then??? I'm waitinggggg...

-------------

On a totally random, irrelevant note:

- My friend delievered her first bub! A healthy baby boy~!!! CONGRATULATIONS!

- I went for my first foot reflexology massage... and it wasn't as bad as desbribed by others. If anything, it was quite relaxing... :)

Okie dokes, bye for now... I still have some last minute shopping to do. Just started packing some stuff that I won't be using anymore in the next couple of days...
The familiarity is soothing,
The silence, very comforting.

Some things, just don't change...

Popo's Birthday Celebration...

Most of my friends were down in Singapore over the weekend, for a rave (ZoukOut). I didn't join them because I had more important things to do... for a very important person in my life.

She's one who loves me unconditionally, one who took care of me and bathed me when I was younger... (ALOT younger), one who cooked my meals... and still does!! One who goes to the temple and prays for me before every big hurdle in my life... one who loves me like one of her own children....

But...

This person is not my mom. She physically spends more time with me than mommy herself... She's no other than.... my grandma!!

We celebrated Popo's birthday last weekend @ Damansara Palace.

My uncles from Singapore came back too!!! Only for the weekend, for grandma's birthday...

It was at a chinese restaurant in Damansara Perdana... It wasn't a very grand celebration, but big enough for all her loved ones to come back from all across the world for a little get-together... For us to share and show our love, back to her... after all that she's showered upon us.

Funny & Mommy - with Popo's angpow. Mommy's all smiles!! hehehehe...

It was good seeing my little cousins again! :) They never fail to make silly faces, to help brighten up your day!!

Mommy and Aunty Yin King kissing Popo :)

Aunty Yvonne and Aunty Jeannie - alongside Popo... Giving her lotsa hugs and kisses...

Uncle, Aunty and cousins that I haven't seen for more than a year...

Another group pic.

Funny, Mei, Mommy and Daddy - a compulsory family shot for the night :P
Come to think of it, I don't think we've actually snapped a family photo in awhile...

Popo, and all her children, on stage with this humongous card that we made for her. It has everyone's photos in it...

Popo and her birthday cake! Uncle Raymond watching from the back, looking all happified!!

Mei and cuz, Milla Fei Fei... She has the voice of an angel! She sang at my cousin's wedding last year, and it was absolutely mesmerising... Apparently, she's won some singing contests in the past as well...

Group pic - popo with her grandchildren...

Another family shot with grandma.

Funny hugging grandma... Popo has confetti on her hair! Tee hee hee....

Mei and Popo....

We absolutely love and adore you, Popo.... Thanks for always cooking my favourite dishes everytime I come back. Thanks for always coming over and spending the night with me, and chatting all night long... Thank you for coming all the way to Melbourne, even if it meant that you had to endure an 8 hours' long flight... to see me.

Thank you for being the bestest grandma ever!!!

I love you heaps!

Remy and Benny

I think I've said before... I'm so glad that Remy the rascal is getting along well with Benny the bunny... They can play together the whole day, chasing each other, and then kissing and licking each other... It's so nice to watch! :D

Who would expect them to get along so well???

Remy and Benny in the house :) They are such a bundle of joy!!!

But after I left for Malaysia, Jon's been telling me quite disturbing stories... about them getting it on and humping each other!!! I was like (O.o) What on earth?!

I wasn't entirely convinced until....

.

.

.

.

.

I am utterly speechless...

*faints*

Insomniac...

I lie awake,
not knowing what to do.
I'm way past hanging out late,
and clubbing till dawn...

I'm tired. But,
I can't seem to fall asleep.
My eyes are closed, but my mind is wide awake.

Thinking, wondering, pondering...
How do you feel not having me around.

I. miss. you.

Tonight, more than ever.

The past, present, and ?future...

Earlier in the week, we decided to have a look at one of the newest shopping complexes around... "The Pavilion" - built on the ground of my alma mater. On the piece of land where Bukit Bintang Girls' School stood proud...

Needless to say, The Pavilion is hugeeee! Its whole premise takes up the whole primary school, secondary school, the swimming complex, gymnasium and our school field...

It stands majestically, carrying lots of new and reputable brands from all over the world... eg. Ted Baker, Marc Jacobs, Juicy Couture, Longchamp, Mandarina Duck - which were previously not available in Malaysia. **Yay!! I can make comparisons now, and buy where it's cheaper!**

Alot of the other shoppping complexes around only carry mainstream brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Coach, Versace, Burberry, you know... the usual... But The Pavilion carries a mixture of the old and infamous brands, and some new ones too... perfect blend.

Needless to say, it made me alotttt poorer that day :(

Its concourse area is hugeeee!!! If you looked closely, those little thingoes at the bottom centre of the photo, are performers... There are 7 levels all together at The Pavilion.

Mommy, Popo and Ah Ber cheche with the Christmas Tree :)

We were there from lunch time onwards, and only left about 5ish... but we only managed to finish maybe... 2-3 levels. And that's not even the whole floor.... There were sooo much that we didn't see. If you reckon Chadstone is big, this is wayyyyyy bigger!

But instead of being excited about this gigantic new shopping complex, I was somewhat a little bit sad... knowing that our school had to be torn down, to make way for this change...

The front porch... Where dad used to drop us off when it was raining...

The office block. The top right corner was where my class was in year 11. On the background is Star Hill shopping complex, and the Marriott hotel.

The clinic block - where my class was in year 7. The field where we used to play netball, and practise cheerleading... On the background, stands KL Tower... proud and tall. *yes, in case you didn't already know, my school used to stand right smack in the city.*

Sigh... How times have changed. How people have changed. How everything has changed...
These memories.... will only remain as memories...

And the reality remains that I'm broke!! *no more shopping* *no more shopping* - If I chant it enough, it might work?

Edit:

As I was googling photos of my school, I came across this blog:
http://back2bbgs.blogspot.com/

I spent 2 hours reading almost every single entry, and even teared... because she is right. Every time I drive by Jalan Bukit Bintang, I no longer see the prominent Office Block, Clinic Block, the trimmed lawns, our netball courts... We no longer see...

BBGS.

Of some things Malaysian...

Last night, mom decided not to cook dinner, and we went out for hotpot dinner instead. Drove all the way to Bandar Menjalara - where they have heaps of hotpot shops, and yummy grilled chicken wings~!

Our yummy hotpot...

There were 5 of us - including PoPo. We only ordered for 3, with additional chicken wings and some other stuff like vege's, mushrooms, and tofu... and we couldn't even finish the noodles~! The portions were humongous!

Mei and Daddy

Funny and Mommy :)

The place wasn't air conditioned, so we were, well, I was anyway... sweating while eating... like literally burning off the fat that I was consuming! Hahhaha...

And the tom yum soup was really really spicy... so I had to order 2 drinks.

Mommy, Funny and PoPo.

I was really really full by the end of it... and then Cammie called and asked if I wanted to meet up and chill with her for the night :) Of course, I wouldn't say no when it comes to catching up with my best mates...

Daddy dropped me off at this new place in Taman Tun, called TTDI Plaza. They have a couple of pretty chillax bar and pubs there...

Cammie & Mei @ Wabisabi. Cammie had dinner there, while I ordered another drink... while waiting for the other girls to come after work. **It was my third drink for the night**

Mei, Cammie, Irene, Jasmine - with our free chocolate martini's from one of the guys around. Yeaps, we had 6 free chocolate martini's. One for each of us :D I didn't finish mine though, cause it was pretty strong.

Steph, Mei, Cammie, Irene, Jasmine, Pouline.

The 6 of us finished half a bottle of Black Label, 3 lychee martini's, 6 chocolate martini's and a Malibu Pineapple... I had like... 2.5 drinks for the night, and was already getting a headache. Surprisingly, babe... I didn't turn blotchy though :P hehehehe...

I reckon, Pouline and Cammie were probably the biggest drinkers for the night. Their whisky neat was really horrible tasting~! YUCKS!!!

And speaking of yucks, there was this random guy who kept coming up to us and asking stupid questions. It was a really poor attempt at picking up... kept wanting to show me lame card tricks and asked me to drink sake with him...

He still didn't get the picture when I said we were leaving soon, and politely declined his offers. In the end, Cammie had to get rid of him by saying
"We're in the middle of something at the moment. Do you mind??"

BUT....

He was very persistent!! He still lingered around and came back to me like several times. He even got an apron from one of the guys and came back saying...
"I'm your waiter, at your service. How may I help you?"

OMG!!!! I swear he's one of the hardest guys to get rid of.

Anyways, to cut the long story short... now I know why some guys can NEVER get girls... So NOT smooth~! Such a dork. I think they need to take some lessons from you, baby... (O.^) hehehehe...

And random apron guy, in case you haven't realised... or if you're reading this blog, I'm taken :)

Leong's Wedding... another one ties the knot

Last weekend was a pretty eventful one for me. Did lotsa shopping, went to catch a concert, and we ended the weekend by attending my nephew's wedding dinner... Yes, you read that right~! He's my nephew.... but he's older than me. So, technically, I was born an aunt. Makes me sound so old~!Damnit....

But anyways, the wedding dinner was held at some Chinese Restaurant in Bukit Bintang. As usual, we knew the dinner wasn't gonna start on time, so we had something to eat before that, and yeah, we kinda arrived a wee-bit later than stated on the invitation card **which is NORMAL** for asian culture! :P

Mommy & Funny - while waiting for the banquet to start...

Funny, Mei and Tina

Chubby daddy, Mei and Mommy :)

Alot of daddy's old friends and relatives were invited to the wedding too... It was quite a big banquet, with 50 tables or so I think. They booked out the whole ground floor. It was a little bit awkward seeing all of them again, cause I barely remember their names, although some of their faces are kinda familiar to me...

So, needless to say, it was a night of "Hello Uncle" and "Hello Aunty" cause I seriously can't friggin' remember their names....

And frankly, I still can't remember all of them after the re-introduction session that night.

Funny and Daddy - sticky dad pudding :P

Sticky dad pudding part 2 :D

Mei & Mommy.

Funny & Mei - someone said we look like twins~!

The toast - the bride and groom are the two in the middle, of course ;)
Sorry this is such a bad photo... I was too lazy to get off my arse, so I used my camera's zoom *which is lousy* to snap this pic.

The couples on our table.

With the newborn *grand nephew??* - well, she's one of my nephew's daughter.. what does that make her?? and uurrr... does that make me a grand aunt??

Isn't she a chubby little girl? *I thought she was a he initially! Oopss! tee hee hee*
And OMG~!! Her cheeks are soooo pinchable!

The bride and groom - with table no. 24 :D Yes, I still remember...

The little snoopy bride and groom decor on the car :)

Ain't it just too cute??

CONGRATULATIONS GUYS! May you love and cherish each other, till death do you NOT part.
Yes, wedding makes me go gooey... and I'm not afraid to admit it. :P
