The Grampians - Day 1

.
Last week, during the Easter break, the gang went on a roadtrip, driving to the Grampians! I know I promised to blog about it longgg time ago, when I got back, but I just managed to get hold of the pictures recently, a couple of days ago. And I haven't really found the time to blog about it until now :)

I remember staying up late, watching the Korean drama, "A Love to Kill" until about 4am, and then having to wake up at 8.30am to get ready and leave for the Grampians. They came to pick me up... and we started our uber long journey. Thank God I didn't have to drive, and ended up sleeping on most parts, except to wake up for lunch and all.

Our first destination was to dump all our bags and stuff @ the house. Wanted to rest and stretch for abit, but then, we didn't really wanna waste time. So, we then grabbed a map, and drove out to do some sight-seeing before it got dark. It'll be absolutely scary to be exploring the area in total darkness! **reminds me of the blair witch project**

First destination: The Boroka Lookout, Northern Grampians

Destination 2: The Balconies

Our faithful Tarago, that got us around :) And Swee of course... being the responsible driver. **YS nearly reversed into the trashbins! We didn't allow him to touch the driver's seat after that**

Picture above shows a part of the forest that got wiped out during the bush fire early this year. You can see that the trees are black, then brown, and the top growing part is green. It was quite a sight actually! Very interesting. I haven't seen anything like that before. If you look at it from afar, it almost looks like a forest, with rainbows of black-brown-red-green :) Soooo kewll!!

Doesn't the rock at the back look like an animal head, with eyes, nose and mouth?

We made it back to our accomodation just as the sun was setting *phew* Cooked dinner, and showered... Rested for awhile. We were meant to have an early night, cause everyone was tired, but the thing was, nobody really wanted to sleep. Hehehe.

So, we had some chips, drank a little, played cards, watched tele for abit... and of course... planned our journey for the next day :) *WHEE*

Didn't manage to get to "Twister" and "Pictionary" on the first night. We were pretty knackered! And knowing that we were gonna do something physically strenuous the next day, Twister's definitely NOT the game we wanna be playing the night before.

The Lion King, Melbourne

WOOHOO!!!

The Lion King, here I come! :)

Getting ready now, for the musical @ Regent Theatre tonight!

I can't waitttt. It's gonna be sooo fabulous! I've heard sooo many good reviews about it. Tickets were bought months ago! They're absolutely sold out now. I sure hope I'm gonna have a great night out! Will update later to tell you guys about it.

And guys, thanks heaps for those encouraging messages. I'm sooo fortunate to have so many people who cares about me! Thanks sooo sooo much for taking interest in my so-called life! You all have absolutely no idea how grateful I feel.

And thanks, but my finger is very much better now :) Hehehe. And NO, I did NOT chop off my fingers, and ate it as chicken. I repeat, I DID NOT!

Disbelief

.
"I accidentally cut my finger today while cutting the chicken" :(
"Err, you're a doctor. Bandage yourself?"
O_o
* I was shocked... disappointed... numb in disbelief *

I couldn't help but shed a tear,
Because of the pain.
Not on my finger,
But in my heart...

Things have definitely changed...

Cause I'm in the presence of great company :)

Stressed outta my wits!

.
Argghhh!! I'm so stressed.
Today's a holiday, but my mind is not getting a day off.
In fact, it's wandering, thinking of too much!

I am in the middle of sorting out my O&G notes, and trying to dig up the sample test papers.
And also, trying to sort out my timetable for my Paeds rotation.
I don't know if it's just me, but it really feels like... this rotation is rather disorganised.
We've got to sign up for our own clinics, our own visits, our own everything!
Wahhh! Really takes alot of initiative to get things done mann!
So different as compared to Women's, where everything is nicely arranged. And you follow the same mentor for the whole duration. I like the familiarity. Makes me feel more comfortable and at ease.

I'm also trying to settle my PMCV application stuff. Submit my referees, and hopefully, get started on my pathetic looking CV! I've got no friggin' idea what to write! :( Sighhh... This whole "getting a job" and "working in the real world" is really starting to freak me out! I even dreamt about it last night, when I was napping. I hate it! It haunts me!!! A part of me really wants the title Dr. in front of my name, and start earning some moolah. I've been stuyding for far too long. But really, a different bit of me wants to remain a carefree student forever. Free from responsibilities!!

I mean, it's someone else's life we're talking about. Not just some business deal! I mean, it's bad if I screw up a huge business deal, but all we lose is money. But this is life we're talking about. There is no second take. No second chance to make it right. Okay, I'm babbling here! Please forgive me! *You have no idea the speed I'm typing this. I'm so stressed, my adrenaline is sky high*

Anyways, I'm wasting my time blogging now, when I should really be sorting out my stuff. Hhmm, my phone plan has expired too. Perhaps I should renew my plan and get myself a spanking new phone! Hahaha.

Back to reality for me now. No more slacking and wasting time! *Tadaa* *Mei waves to all*

Could I be a masochist?

.
I got to thinking after getting off the phone last night,
Could I be a masochist in some ways? Could it be that I enjoy the pain?
Or do I put up with it, simply because of the sweet, pleasant memories behind it?
Or perhaps, the pain is worth it, due to the little moments of happiness I get outta it.

Could this be the "selfless" love that others refer to?
That you really can love someone without having to have them?

Am I wasting my time with something that will lead to nowhere?
Or really, should I just live life the way I want, the way I feel comfortable with,
knowing that I'm just throwing away my youth?
For ultimately, it is MY life I'm living...

Because, life is fragile...
Life is too short.
We all start dying, from the moment we start living. O_o

I'm not a morning person!!

.
Yes, I was up till 4am last night, watching Korean drama. Darn, I'm such an addict! :( I've got to stop this shit once the semester starts again. (which is in 2 days' time!) . We kinda made plans to go to Mount Dandenong this morning, but nothing was confirmed... so I kinda thought that the plan fell through.

And then...

This morning @ 9.20 am, Ade called me like... 4 TIMES! before I heard the phone and answered it with my super-sleepy-semi-awake voice:
"Yes? Hello?"
"Girl, you need to wake up now. I'll be at your place by 10.30am"
"What?!? Are we really going?"
"Yes, now get ready. Make sure you don't go back to sleep"
"Oh... wokayyyyyy"
I answered hesitantly, thinking whether I should just not go, and get back to my lovely bed, and continue my sweet dream.

I then napped for another 5 minutes, before decided to drag myself to shower and freshen up. Ming Yen obviously stood us up, because he was up till 6-ish playing DOTA! *Hmph* (You owe us bubbletea!!) Surprisingly, Chee Yoong made it, even after a late night out clubbing.

Anyways, I made it on time =) Ade came to pick me up, and we drove up to the Dandenong Ranges! Luckily I was all bundled up! It was freezin' cold today! But as we got there, I knew that it was worth waking up early for! The view is superb. The air is fresh and crisp!

Ade & Mei on 'The Wishing Tree' // A stone compass // Beautiful English Garden // JL, Ade $ Mei at the Possum House

The whole lot at the lookout // Mei @ the lookout // YongShen, CheeYoong & Ade // Magnificent view (you can see the Austin Hospital from here!) - yes I'm proud of it *bleh*

Mei with one of the ceramic-on-stone sculptures at the William Ricketts Sanctuary

Beautiful National Rhododendron Gardens // YS, Mei, Ade & CY // Ade & Mei at the bridge // Mei the monkey, climbing a tree?

The 4 of us yet again // Beautiful hydrangeas // Yellow Rhododendrons // Mei with the pretty flowers.

More Rhododendrons // @ the lake // Funny looking trees // forgotten the name of this flower *shy*

Cartoony mushroom // The view from Serenity Point // A walk in the park // Giganto-hugely humongous-bigggg mushroom

More pretty hydrangeas // Us, protecting our eyes and cold lill hands // The gang @ the Sanctuary // More flowers?

View from the top // Bonding with nature // The whole lot // Pretty in pink

All-in-all, I had a fantabulous time bonding with nature. I can't believe I did so much of it this Easter! But I love it... Maybe it's the fact that I haven't been living healthy recently. So, a little bit of walking and physical activity is perhaps good for me! Hehehe.

And saving the best for last... obviously, I had to reward to poor lill stomach after a whole day of walking around. :) We had afternoon tea at the famous Miss Marples. The scones were really yummy! Or maybe, I was just really hungry! Hehehe... a must-try if you do plan to head to Mount Dandenong.

My Easter hols have been great, but sadly, it's coming to an end... One more day, and counting... Boohooo!!!!

A Love to Kill

.
Korean drama, A Love to Kill is a must-watch!! It's so good, it made me cry like a baby. Perhaps I feel like I could relate to it. Two person who love each other, but can't be in love. Just not destined to be together.

It got me thinking, just how far will you go to, to be together... knowing that the other person loves you too? And if you're never gonna be one in this life, will you wanna die together, and be together as one after-life?

Even if I see love,
I pass it by, as if I didn't see it,
Even if I know that it's love,
I give it a different name.

Even if I hear love,
I pass it by, as if I didn't hear it,
I laugh loudly
To cover my cries.

My love, oh my love...Is it really that bad?
When everyone else loves,
They're happy... but why do I cry?
Why does it only hurt for me?

I would throw everything away,
If I can have permission for this love,
Even if my eyes are blinded by your bright light.

Even though love hurts,
I live with all the bruises,
Even though I wash it away with my tears,
It doesn't get any better,
Why does it only hurt for me?

My broken heart is worsened,
By this painful love,
But I'm still living only because of this love,
That's hurting me to death.

*Directly translated from Korean*

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will never stop loving you,
I will not let you go,
Until the day I die...

That's when,
I'll stop loving you...

Meds and the City

.
I received a message from Krys last night, asking if I was free for drinks. Being me, I was under the impression that we were going for drinks drinks... like alco drinks. Hahaha. She then cleared it, saying that coffee is fine too :)

After coming back from the Grampians (sorry, can't do the post yet. No pics) all I've been doing is hibernating, watching my Korean drama... and crying buckets over it. Hahahaha. Strangely, it kinda made me feel relieved... perhaps because deep down, I really wanted to cry over *something*. But really, I don't quite have a very valid reason to cry. Okay, I'm not making sense... but...

Catching up with the girls, felt a little like Sex & the City, where Carrie has her regular catch-up lunch/dinner/drinks sessions with her pals. We spoke about the latest in our lifes, relationships (or rather the absence of it) and work. Only thing is, we do not share our sexual experiences and all. Hehehe. Despite what the general population thinks, we girls do NOT discuss things like that.

It felt good. It's been ages since I had a real conversation with them. (and no, meeting in clubs do not count). I hate shouting into each other's ears... trying to make small talks and all.

Girls, we should definitely do this more often... and not just during the holidays! Hehehe =) IF, and only IF you guys are not too busy with the newest happenings in your life, but if you guys are, I will understand *winks*

Uber tired now, and besides, I'm gonna feed my addiction for Korean drama first.

Will blog about my fantabulous trip tomorrow! (hopefully)

Midnite - Dawn Movie Marathon

.
This Easter is a good time for me to catch up with pals that I haven't seen for a longgg time. I haven't seen Jackie since... erm, summer... and Jian Wen since God-Knows-When (sometime last year I think). And since they know each other, I thought to myself, might as well kill two birds with one stone. Since my easter schedule is quite packed... so *sorry guys*.
.
Dinner was good, yeah?? :) Jian Wen practically gobbled down his pizza cause it was sooo yummy! Hehehe. Bet you can't get anything close to that in Glen Huntley, huh? ** Mei is being a bitchy city gal again** Hehehe. I like to give him shit for staying far far away....
.

Wanted to go for gelati after dinner, but ALL the gelati places were closed, cause it's Easter Sunday!!! Mei is sad, cause she didn't get to have her weekly dosage of gelati! Hehehe. And being in Grampians ain't gonna help. Blah! Need to get gelati as soon as I get back to the city after that. I shall pretend to be healthy this next few days, hiking... eating healthy food and all. Hahahaha. NO gelati for Mei :(

Met Kelly and Trev @ Stuzzichino's. They had dinner at Lygon too. :)

Went home around 10 pm to get ready for my midnight till dawn movie marathon! Woohooo!!!

Ade and I went to the Glen in the afternoon to get the tickets, cause the online booking is screwed up... and we needed to pay extra for phone booking, for something they screwed up... We were not happy... so we decided to drive ALL the way there to get the tics. A little silly, but hey, we got good seats! The seats were filling up pretty fast actually. I wasn't expecting such a big crowd for last night :)

We watched V for Vendetta, Final Destination 3, and Firewall. I thought all three were pretty good. Although Leonard was laughing at me half the time during Final Destination 3 cause I was so scared, I was practically hiding behind my jacket, and wouldn't stop screaming! Hahaha. Jacy nearly didn't dare to drive home!

Us, in the cinema... snapping pics during the intervals. Spasticccc :) Hehehe

It was a really good experience :) albeit a little detrimental on my health! The movies were supposed to start at 11.45pm, but actually started around 12.10am... and we came out from the cinema around 6ish-7 am! The sun was already rising by then! It was weirdddd...

People were actually waking up to start their day, and we were desperate to get home to get some sleep! Heheheh... We were contemplating having breakfast for a moment, but my eyes just wouldn't allow me to. And I bet my stomach would be too tired to churn. *teehee*

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As Ade and I were driving home from Glen Waverley last evening, we took Toorak Road and ended up passing Watergrill.... *sigh* I love that place.... and I remember how you love that place too.

I hate it how the slightest thing still reminds me of *you*.

Memoriesss...

A Good 'Good Friday'

.
WARNING: This is gonna be a photo filled post. So if you hate my pics, or you think my photo snapping tendency is gonna piss you off, then please, I suggest you just close this window now, before you leave me nasty comments, that will eventually cheese me off. But the rest, please feel free to browse through pics, and copy them if you want, cause I think it's too tedious to send it to everyone :)
.
Yes, we're officially on Easter Break now, for a week! How awesome is that??? I am so excited! Hehehe... So much is happening! Our Grampians trip, watching Footie, Lion King musical, shopping sprees (sales all over!), and lotsa lotsa coffee sessions! :)
.
Anyways, last night marked the start of our holidays! :) Went clubbing to release stress of course! Hehehe. After a whole nine weeks of hardcore, taxing O&G, I finally get some time off to breathe. *But I'm soooo gonna miss that rotation though. I absolutely loved it!*
.
Headed to Sin City, Heist last night with some pals.... for some good 'Good Friday' partyingggg!
.

Hehehe. Alistair thinks you look like a sleazy mannn... and I caught ya on camera, with some scandalous dancing. Kekeke... but I shall be nice, and not post the pics here.

The medics having some fun, taking time off studying... **I give myself this excuse farrr too frequently**

With long-time-no-see college mate, Bee Ting. Isn't she just gorgeousss??

Apparently, the story goes... Ming Yen felt tipsy after one tequila shot and two whisky cokes? Well, I surely hope not... And obviously, Ming Yen is denying it... So I guess, we'll never really know huh?

Gals, gals, and more gals! **Pear, you're wearing the wrong colour. Teehee**

TMY: I think you owe Ade two bubble teas for that! **One for her, and one for me** I don't know why I deserve one too, but oh well... I though I might just try and give it a shot. Maybe you'll be nice enough to... (but I highly doubt it) Sighh..

Love you to bits, gal *hugz*

Dear gal, I surely hope you had fun last night :) Don't work too hard, yeah? Make sure you make time to have fun with us! Looking forward to more happy times with ya!

I think Shin Yen was really tipsy by then... So tomato red :)

I like this pic, although I think it's a little obscene.... Maybe it's a good idea for the guys to tuck in their shirts next time! But thank God, I don't seee hugeeeee spare tyres anywhere! *phew*

SCANDALOUSSS!!! Hehehehe. (and I don't mean Ade & Jacy) *snicker snicker*

Sorry Chee Yoong, I just HAD to post this pic! It's sooo funny! Kakakakak. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw it. I can't remember who snapped this pic, but he/she surely deserves to be credited! And No, I know you don't have bad breath. I put a disclaimer at the bottom of the photo... (not like I was close enough to realise, even if you did).

Another one of my favourite :)

Thanks peeps, for coming out to party!! :) Although the night started a little slow initially... but I had heaps of fun by the end of it! :) And hey, I'm not complaining since we got in for free... Hehehe... and no, Mei did not get drunk!

More partying this Easter!! Woohoo!!!
