I had so many plans for this past week. I had lists, and schedules, and I had it down to the minute. Everything would get done and be done just in time, and then I got the call. I had no idea when I wrote the post about missing my grandma that my 90-year-old grandmother who was still here wouldn't see Christmas. And so all my plans and schedules went out the window so we could attend her funeral.
When we returned home I did what I always do when I'm stressed or sad, I locked myself in my sewing room and worked. I had planned on quilting "Hanging Around" from Simply Modern Christmas this week anyway, but I had more motivation to try what I had planned on doing with the quilting and not worry about how it turned out. I now have a request to make this bed sized and quilt it exactly the same way. We will have to see about that! ;)
We spent the Christmas holiday alone as many are ill with the influenza in our family, and for this year that was an okay change. It kept it quiet and simple which is what we needed. We have fresh snow and sunshine today (after not having seen the sun for weeks), so I'm ready to get back to work and enjoy this beautiful day with needle in hand. Merry Christmas and Happy Stitching!! --Kristen
