was thinking through some links between the three series.. esp about the VCD ending of MDWAV 3.
could it be that we were all on the wrong track? The question is not about whether Tian You did bite Xiao Ling - rather could it be that at the crucial moment, Xiao Ling stabbed Tian You or something? because..
Xiao Ling once said, when she dies, she'd make sure she kill Tian You along with her.
Tian You once said he won't bite Xiao Ling because he loved her and wouldn't want to see her become the same monster as him.
and if i were to look at the non-linearity concept introduced in MDWAV3, Tian You's reincarnation line could be: Tian You --> Guo Hua --> Jian Tou. If my speculation is correct, this would seem reasonable because Guo Hua will die to be reincarnated into Jian Tou who doesn't die as a Shen Long.
and anw, i think tian you should bite xiao ling. he doesn't want her to be the same monster as him - but nobody actually treats him as a monster. he has never really sucked human blood before and he's stil living. plus, wad's wrong with biting someone to "suffer an eternal fate of loneliness" when the two person truly in love have each other? their fate could be one of eternal happiness. but of cos im feeling quite uncomfortable thinking about this, but i haven found a way out to suggest the alternative - letting the one you love die.
finished watching MDWAV1. hmm i can say that to me, it is not the best of the 3 series; but no matter what, being the first series, it will always have a special standing. still contemplating which is the best - MDWAV 2 or 3.
i guess the greatest downfall of MDWAV1 is that many things 不到味。many of the plots/emotions didn't come as intensefully as in MDWAV 2. even though their onscreen chemistry can be considered good, yet it's somehow a notch lower than the subsequent series. many concepts came across half-heartedly, lingering between rushed and draggy.
even though the woman in KTY's heart is MXL, this didn't come across strongly in this series - which i think KTY will still be deciding between 3 women had circumstances not made the choice for him. and this love ought to be the core concept of the entire series.
San Ben Yi Fu character wasn't given the right kind of aura - he ought to be someone hu does many things to gain his power and even though ultimately he's revealed to have done all these things for fear of loneliness, he shouldn't have been someone who'd withdraw all his plans for WeiLai/Zhen Zhen. Rather he should continue to do even more evil because someone has seen through his inner loneliness and he is trying to hide that even more - which will highlight the sad concept of him being really a lonely character. He can have the human qualities, but his ego should be so great that he can die trying to hide his soft side.
Zhen Zhen was well-developed along the plots, until till the very end, when she was revealed to have 10thousand lifetime's fate with san ben yi fu. It's like suddenly Zhen Zhen is just gone - there'd no more love entanglement with Tian You. it's just her and Yi Fu.
Fusheng is neglected!! - as always. throughout the whole series, MXL and KTY together with the baddies and their frens will be accounted for except for Fusheng, who's given a 马马虎虎treatment.
San Ben Yi Fu's plot was dragging for far too long.
and i din lik the monstrous-looking vampire transformation -.-
but i still like the series after all ^^ just some thoughts about the show that might make it better. but considering the fact that 13 had to change his script and casts last minute due to deaths, it's really good already.
liked 4 parts of the show most :)
MXL and KTY decides to spend one night together as normal people - singing K, getting into fights (ok not planned) and laughing from their hearts.
KTY who'd rather fall victim to the timeless torture of a vampire than to let go of MXL's hands.
MXL lying on KTY's shoulders in her car just before they attempt to travel back in time.
As MXL and KTY sang the duet, they were both relaxed and happy for once - because they can finally be an ordinary person. I agree with Zhen Zhen that I've never seen Tian You so happy before in the entire show. Yet i don't really know if i prefer to see the happy him or the depressed him. If he had always been so happy, maybe I wouldn't have liked this character. but this fleeting moment of happiness is indeed one of the scenes that i like the most in MDWAV 1 - esp since it's moment of happiness with Ma Xiao Ling.
After finishing MDWAV1, I realised that throughout the whole show, Kuang Tian You has never really made his choice to be Ma Xiao Ling. Intuitively as we watch the show, it's rather obvious that his choice in his heart is MXL. Yet i have this feeling that if circumstances didn't make a choice for Tian You (Ah Xiu is dead; Zhen Zhen has Shan Ben Yi Fu to last for 10thousand lifetimes and XiaoLing happens to be the last suviving woman left in Tian You's life at the final moment), he might have never ever made his real choice (forget about the choice of marrying Zhen Zhen because it was out of responsibility) Leaving Ah Xiu out of the picture cuz she will forever hold a special place in his heart, I'm not that sure if Tian You knows that Xiao Ling is the one for him because he's forever torn between making a choice between the two woman. And the most difficult part about making a choice for people who can't make up their mind is that they can never really find what their heart truly wants.
In MDWAV 2 and MDWAV 3, it becomes apparent that Xiao Ling is his choice because he's always staring at Xiao Ling even if he does or says things to Zhen Zhen. And at the crucial moment, he does make is choice as Xiao Ling.
haha. 缘-说来就来。anw, din know that Joey meng was not considered for MDWAV initially. yet she was the number one candidate when 13 decided on a female ghostbuster - needs to wear mini skirt, wear boots, loves money, gotta be fierce. lol.
http://www.tudou.com/programs/view/BWF0C11yPok/ knew all along about joey's injuries during MDWAV3 filming. yet i neglected the disappointment 13 had and the guilt joey felt. they din state it explicitly in this video, but when 13 was saying "MDWAV 3 had a complete concept.I was already planning for MDWAV3 as i was writing MDWAV2" "but something happened which i did not anticipate - she (joey meng) was injured" as he was saying this, notice that Joey Meng seems to be fighting back her tears or something, and she was fiddling with Fusheng's hands. i really want to see the original script of MDWAV 3.. i wonder wad was lacking in the one on screen..
in MDWAV1, KTY was more of a cool vampire. He has his sad past, he has his moments of grief, yet he still carries that smile once in a while, especially with Fusheng. In MDWAV 2, KTY seems more depressed than before. He hardly smiled, he was cold, he hides everything to himself. Even Fusheng can't really enter his life. And to make things worse, there was a real KTY who was happy-go-lucky to contrast with this KTY. In MDWAV 3, he ought to have found a happy life with MXL already. Yet he was bogged down by the ShengMu virus, and he seems even older than ever. Going by the non-linear flow of events (TianYa in future --> the present), KTY actually existed in th form of 行尸走肉. with MXL dead, he lost meaning of his life. after going through so much with her, he still lost the one whom he loved.
in MDWAV1, we have descendants of Vampire commander battling out with each other. In MDWAV 2, the Vampire Commander himself appears. In MDWAV 3, Fate appears and the greatest conspiracy about the world that we know of surface.
In MDWAV 1, everyone seems to be a master of their own fate. You make your choice and you bear with the consequence. In MDWAV 2, the world seems slated for doomsday. MXL and KTY makes a fight against fate and finally a miracle occurs. In MDWAV 3, everything that has occurred was just part of a bigger plot. Everyone was just a pawn. You think you control your own fate, but Fate has you playing around his fingers. And there was the Tian Ya from the future to serve as evidence of the sealed fate. Even though that fate was altered (and hence Tian Ya's disappearance), have they really won fate? Could they have lost what was dear to them while winning this battle? Did they really win fate? Or was it fate that they should lose a part of them in order to win fate? the loss of the current tianya; the wedding that was never completed - should they have submitted to fate and carried on the life of a normal person, even though they knew they are doomed for a tragedy? Or was it important that at least they have tried to create the world of their own and even as they lose somethings, the spirit of tianya and their love wil still remain?
why do most people like mdwav 2? maybe cuz it's a series that balances the two extremes. (not to mention the strong cast and best effects of the three series) there's a part of everyone that enjoys a bit of a tragedy because that tragedy speaks a bit of their own story. Yet when the tragedy gets overbearing (as in MDWAV3), nobody wishes to acknowledge that feeling. Maybe it's just too heavy-hearted. Maybe nobody wants to think in the way that MDWAV 3 advocates. Do you want to be just a pawn of Fate?
Just felt like watching MDWAV 3 endings once again..
TV Ending
VCD Ending
Still leaves me with a good feeling as ever. It seems as though no matter how the story seems to develop, it's forever pointing towards a tragedy. and yet it ain't all that disastrous cuz there's always some form of happiness in the midst of all the 无奈。
If Tianyou were to bite xiaoling, it's a tragedy. Leaving all those rational analysis aside, at the very moment when we see him about to bite xiaoling, there's alr this sense of sadness filled within me. Yet if he were to not bite xiaoling, another form of sadness will manifest, that is, of xiaoling dying. it seems as though nothing will work out.. or at least that's wad i think at this point of time..
