Petersen nomads...
That's what I feel like lately. We've been getting settled at my parents house this week. Our move to Valdez on Monday marked the second in six months, the third in two years, fourth in three years, fifth in four years, seventh in five years. I don't hate moving. I hate clutter and am thankful that I quite regularly have the oppurtunity to declutter, which is what I do in a big way whenever we move. However, I am looking forward to the day when we make that "final" move...for awhile anyway. I would absolutely love for our first house to be that house that our family will grow-up in...but right now I would settle for an affordable house period. I'm also getting very excited at the prospect of actually being able to decorate the way I really want to. I realize these things take money. Most of the time lots of money. But I'm also perfectly okay with it taking time....a go as you can afford time plan. Which also brings up another thing I'm incredibly thankful for...a very handy husband! I've got all kinds of ideas for things I want Dave to build for me! And as an added bonus - he loves to do it!

Babies, Babies, Babies...
It seems like ALL of my friends have babies around the same time every few years! Not me, I'm on the opposite schedule of everyone....five or so will have a baby one year and then just me the next year. Two really good friends each had a boy in the last two months...these are what I do for baby gifts, paint-can journals. Instead of recording everything in a baby book or journal you simply write a note on a slip of paper and put it in the can. For instance, "first smile - May 2, 2007." I prefer to make them after the baby is born so I can personalize them with names, birthdate, weight, etc., etc., etc., They have become a big hit - I always get invited to parties! :)

Rice Fun Anyone?
I was working in our office when I heard a lound noise. I immediately knew what it was. For only one thing makes a noise like five pounds of rice hitting the kitchen floor and that's five pounds of rice hitting the kitchen floor. My sister-in-law gave me the idea of a container of rice or dry beans for the kids to play in. Kali loves this and will literally spend hours a day playing in her rice. This time she left her container a little too close to the edge of the table and we found out that Corey also loves to play in rice. No harm done. He had fun and it cleans up easy enough!
