Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, martini in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride! - Unknown

Long overdue post....

I bet you all thought I had dropped off the face of the earth, haven't you??? Well somedays I have felt like I was hanging on by a thread, somedays I thought Fate was standing right on the edge with a big pair of scissors waiting to cut that string but I'm still here. I will post a huge update later this week with all the happenings, kids updates, Charlie Daniels, etc...., later this week but let me give you all an update on my stitching real quick.....

Cross stitch
Hasn't been going on too much since I had a galleon cyst on my wrist that required some attention (more details in my later post, I promise!) but there is some going on. I actually had 2 small finishes ~ both of which left me for other homes. One was a bookmark exchange which I stitched a cat bookmark and sent it to it's new home along with the drink mixes and floss that was part of the exchange. The new owner, Kim B wrote back that she had wanted to stitch this piece for herself and had never got around to it so I felt really good that I had sent something that was appreiciated.

I received a wonderful package from my other exhange partner, Shelly T, which included not just one.... but TWO bookmarks (she must know how I love to read!) along with other wonderful threads and crystal light. I felt like she know exactly what I loved because the colors were wonderful and I am still smiling every time I pick up one of my books that I'm reading and find one of the wonderul bookmarks she sent.

The quilt square I had been working on was finished as well and is on its way to being turned into a gift to a special lady in one of my other groups. This was a fun stitch and the first Jerimiah Junction piece I had stitched; I think I'll be doing more in the future.

Recent stitching has been done on 2 of my pieces ~ Prairie Schooler Summer and Big Toe Designs Quaker Seasons. Here is a quick peek at an update on both. I'm hoping to stitch on things and be able to provide frequent updates but I'm taking the pressure off and just stitching on what I want to stitch, when I want to stitch and just enjoy!!!

Knitting
I'm-this-close-to-finishing-my-buttonhole-scarf but I still have 2 finishes. What got me into this whole mess to begin with was when my MIL gave me a few knitted dishclothes which I love to use. That was a few years ago and they were starting to show wear and so I decided it was time to learn how to make my own. Here is my first 2 dishclothes and the first one was the reason for my cyst (promise all the gory details will be following shortly). I went shopping the other day and Becky picked out a yarn for a scarf so I'll be working another scarf as soon as I finish up the buttonhole scarf I started. Actually, I'm even hoping to finish a few dish clothes for a few Christmas gifts.
Well, this is my mini update. I'm hoping to stay in touch a little better now that some pressure has been lifted and the school year has settled into routine. Until next time......
