Always the Last One on the Bandwagon....

Okay, okay... so I've finally decided to join the millions of other people, including everyone in my family, who have their own blog. I don't consider myself a trend-follower. I'm more of a trend-lagger. Whatever the latest craze is... I usually resist just long enough... then finally give in right when it's going out of style. (My brother told me a long time ago that you know clothing is going out of style when it reaches K-Mart and Wal-Mart. Guess where a lot of my clothes come from!!) =)

So... I have been reluctant to start a blog for many reasons, but here are the main two:

#1) I knew I would get addicted. I know me... and I know how I love to write... and how I love sharing my thoughts, photos, and videos with my family and friends.

#2) I didn't like that idea of spending so much time and energy on something that I couldn't preserve (like I can in a scrapbook).

so... here are my solutions:

#1) I guess it won't be that bad to be addicted. Actually, this might save me time because I was previously sharing my thoughts, photos, and videos in a variety of emails to a variety of people, at a variety of times. Also I have stuff on facebook, kodakgallery, shutterfly... to name a few. Hopefully, now it can all be in one place... "My One Stop Shop." It will be easier for me to email you and say.... "I have a new post on my blog... check it out." (and to convince you to come see it... I'll tell you that I've just added pictures of our precious baby... for those of you in the Drew Dettmer Fan Club.) =)

#2) This is the part that I am super, super excited about... I have found a way to preserve my blog in a bookstore-quality book. So, for those of you who've known me for a long time... you know I've always said I wanted to write a book. So here I go...................
