Jessica came to our house today to drop something off and we weren't home. She got back to her house and guess who was behind her....yep Sammy. Well she brought him back and took a picture for us. Loved it so I had to put it on here!

Joseph City
This last weekend we had a great time in Joseph City for Bruce's class reunion and the founders day activities. We started the festivities Friday night with meeting with Bruce's class for a 20 year reunion. This is the first reunion they have had since they graduated, so it was lots of fun for them to see each other.
Saturday morning we went into the church for a fun 5k and 10k race. It was a way fun (easy) course and very low key which was tons of fun. Bridget, Dustin, and Rhett ran the 5k and Bruce and I ran the 10k. The kids did really good. They haven't ran this far before and didn't know how they would do. Dustin ended up getting 15th, Bridget 19th and Rhett 22nd. They all ran the whole way except Rhett, who wasn't feeling too good for part of it, walked a little bit of it. I made it to the finish line placing 5th (its a good thing there weren't tons of people in it!)Bruce ended up getting 1st in the 10k. He went back to run the last stretch with his best buddy from high school. Here he and Jim are coming to the finish line.
The runners after the race. They gave us cute horseshoe medals. Bridget was thrilled that they were horseshoes for Mustangs!! That's not really why they did horse shoes but it made Bridget feel good!
After the race we went into the church for the pancake breakfast.
After that we went to the Bushman's for a tractor show. It was fun. The kids got to ride on a hay ride.
They had this tractor teeter totter.
We had to get a picture by one of the Case tractor to send to their little cousin Case.
And here were the farmers driving the tractors! It was a very enjoyable weekend spending time with family and getting acquainted with some of Bruce's class mates.
Derby Champ
Bruce and Rhett have been building our LAST pinewood derby. Bruce loves the pinewood derby. I know there are people in town that think he is too serious about it. He is serious but it is not because him and his boy's car has to win. They just love doing it and of course winning makes it all better. It is fun to build a fast car.
Bruce does a lot of work on the car but he doesn't do it without his boy right by his side helping and telling him how they want it. This year Rhett had an extra plus with Uncle Scott in town with his auto body paint. Uncle Scott was thrilled to paint it for him. Rhett went to the shop and picked out the colors he wanted and they got it painted. It looked shiny and neat but he they didn't do a lot of detail. Setting the car on the track.
This picture should have been before the other one. Carly giving Rhett the thumbs up that his car was right on with the weight and could check in.
And yep it was a 1st place car! Rhett was excited! For his last year it was good to get 1st place. I do have to admit that I am not too sad it is over. (except we have district to go to the end of April but at least the car is finished) I hope sometime Bruce can help some other little boy on their car because he loves it!

Mustang Pride
Bruce is having his class reunion this weekend in Joe City. They have requested some pictures of him with his family. They are going to show it at the family dinner and have DVDs for the classmates. Bruce decided our family needed to get a Mustang picture taken since that is Joe City's biggest rival. So last night great Rocky went down to the gym with us and took a couple of pictures. We wear our red and black with PRIDE!
Hula
We love Jessica and this is one of the reasons why. They did this after their tea party Kaylee set up for them.

Barbie
Last night as I was tucking Tylinn in bed she started crying. I asked her what was wrong and she said everybody at school was calling her barbie. I couldn't help but laugh and thought if that is the worst name she is called she has a pretty good life!
I took Dustin to the Dr. yesterday to get his arm checked out. Dr. Dewitt said it needed to be in a cast. So purple is what he chose.
Sorry don't know how to turn picture |
He said because he had it in a splint for 3 weeks he only has to leave his cast on for 3 weeks. I think after 3 weeks Dustin will be ready to get it off. This is the first time I have ever seen anything get casted. I thought it was interesting how they did it.

1st Place Baby!!
Science fair project......yuck! We were so glad to get it finished and turned in. I just wanted Bridget to get an A and that would be great. Well she came home from school the other day saying that she got 2nd in her category. Later I talked to the Science teacher and she said that the boy that got first place shouldn't have because he didn't have everything done for his project. That was fine....whatever. I assumed 2nd place would be an A so we were great with that. Well 2nd place also meant it got to go to Showlow for district (or something, don't know what for sure they call it) with Navajo and Apache Counties. One of Bridget's friends families was going over to Showlow to look at all the projects and they wondered if Bridget wanted to go. So they were on their way. Later that day I got a text with this picture that said "Hey mom I got 1st place".
We were excited for her. She ended up calling me later and said she was going to be on the radio. So we tuned in the radio to listen to her. She was so cute. They radio lady asked what her name was then what and why did she do her project. This is how it went " Hi my name is Bridget McLaws. I did my project on Whipped cream that lasts. Lets just say that I love food. (Yep that's my girl her mom 100%) I wanted to find out how much unflavored gelatin you need to put into whipped cream so it wouldn't get runny." The radio lady was laughing and said "that's my kind of girl, likes food." I wish I was more like her. She didn't even sound nervous. Anyway she had a fun day with Kessiah (she got to talk on the radio too). I was glad they took her over there. I didn't figure her project would do anything. So the Science Fair continues......on to Phoenix she goes with her board! Just a little note too. There were about 10 categories and 4 kids from Heber took 1st place, 2 took 2nd place. Good job kids!
Happy 6th Kaylee
My Kaylee turned 6 on Friday. Here are pictures from the day.
Opening a present and card before school. In her card was money for her and I to go shopping after she got out of school. She was SO excited!Cute sister!
I took cookies into Kaylee's class. They were singing Happy Birthday to her with sign language. Here is Mrs. Connor doing the cha cha cha part.
Her choice (we did lunch instead of dinner) was Subway. She loves "Subway Sandwiches"
But she only wanted to go there if we could stop by DQ on the way home and get ice cream. It was FREEZING so we brought the ice cream home.
She opened a card from G & G Flake and it was birthday cake time. She wanted an elephant cake.
Making a wish (I didn't get it when she really did it so this is after that's why half the candles are already blown out)
Kaylee is a fun little girl and adds tons of character to our family. She is our only kid that can totally tune life out and play by her self in la la land. She will talk and act out and everything. It is great (most of the time, unless we are trying to get her to listen to us...she is in a different world.)
Kaylee likes to be a big helper and does things without being asked. She is happy and loves to play with Tylinn. We love you Kaylee babe!
Blue and Gold
Last week we had our Blue and Gold Banquet. We only have 2 scouts so it was a very small quiet evening, but nice. Rhett got his Weblos Badge that night.
I am putting all the paint on for the Weblos stuff.Rhett putting his Mother's Pin on.
Such a cute boy!
Him with his pops. Now on to finish requirements for his Arrow of Light.
We bought a zoo
Well we didn't buy a zoo thank heavens but I did think of that movie a few times this day when I was at the zoo with Dustin's 6th grade class field trip. It was a way fun trip and I was so glad I got to go.
Lyle, Noah, Dustin, John, Kris
Dustin trying to milk a cow 1 handed.
Jodie, Kim and Dustin loving on a goat at the petting part.
This was our group.
Every kid had to do a report on something at the zoo. We tried to find all the kids animals they chose. Dustin and Noah did theirs on the fennec fox. It it a cute little fox that looks similar to Sammy.
Dustin did a big no no when Pam and I weren't looking. He threw a good and plenty candy over. They were told not to feed the animals but he said he didn't think of it as food - he just wanted to see what they would do. Well it was pretty darn funny. It picked it up and ate it. It was right here in front of us for a long time. We laughed and laughed at this thing until it drew a crowd and we decided we should let somebody else have a turn.
Dustin has quite the group of boys his age. While we were waiting for everybody to gather at the end to leave a Jeremy turned some music on his mp3 player and these boys were dancing in the zoo. (Dustin gets his height from his mom!)
Both classes before heading out the gate. It was a fun day with beautiful weather.
