Ironman
Yesterday Mark did the AZ Ironman again. This was his 8th Ironman. An Ironman is swimming 2.2 miles, biking 112, and running 26.2. The AZ Ironman is held at Tempe town lake.
We went to Hawaii a few years ago to watch him so we have seen him before but it still amazes me.
Here are some of the swimmers. There were at least 2500 people there. So all we know is Mark is one of those green hats.
Mark on his run. He was hurting pretty good by this time but was still doing amazing! He was running under an 8 minute mile.
Finally finished. Mark did awesome! He ended up finishing 1s in his age group and 100th over all out of 2500 people. Mark you are an Iroman!
Yep 1st place!! So excited for him. He finished in 9 hours 49 min. That is his 2nd best time ever. It is so cool watching these guys. It is amazing what the body can do when you train for it!
Congrats Mark!!
Zoo
Friday Todd and Kenzie got married in the Mesa Temple. We are so excited for them! Everything was great with that.
Saturday we went to the zoo. Bridget and Dustin stayed home so they could go to their Volleyball and Wrestling tourney's Saturday. They spent the night Friday at home by themselves for the first time and everything was great. Saturday after they got home they stayed at Scott and Amanda's. We were still in the valley so we took the youngest 3 and Porter to the zoo. Holli and Shawn and their kids came too. It was kind of overcast and the weather was perfect. With the nice weather the animals must have like it because I saw more of them this time then ever.
The zoo was celebrating 50 years so there were a few extra activities going on. Radio Disney was there doing games with kids. Here is Tylinn and Kaylee doing a hula hoop competition.
It was an enjoyable day at the zoo. We left there and went to Angela's Oklahoma play.
Honor Orschestra
Wednesday Bridget and Dustin went to Payson for Honor Orschestra. They had a great day there. Bridget was super excited becuse she was 1st chair cello. Mr. Cheney had Dustin move back to the violia for this. He was in the middle and we couldn't even see him. He is back there in the blue shrit. Bridet was even more excited after the concert. The conductor there is the conductor of the White Moutain Symphony and she told us she wanted Bridget to start going to that. It is a "by inviation" group. Hopefully this summer we can get her going. Finding a ride is going to be the tricky part. Anyway she was way excited. Dustin did really good.
Snow and sick
We have had sick kids around this house and it is getting old! 3 weeks ago low fevers and not feeling good. 2 weeks ago throwing up and last week back to fevers. We have had lots of kids home from school. Here are Tylinn and Kaylee having a tea party on one of their sick days. Once they had medicine they felt fine but they had a fever at school so they didn't want them there.
Volleyball
Bridget is about to finish up her 8th grade year of volleyball. She has loved this year. She loved Whitmer as a coach and has love setting every game. She has done really good.
And Bridget - "Our team is doing really good, we have a really good team."
They haven't won a game yet but are hoping to pull off a win today with Sequioa.
That is just Bridget's attitude!

Sad Day
I was supposed to do this yesterday but am just getting around to it. Yesterday was a sad day to find out that Obama beat Romney in the Presidential race. I know there are things that need to happen for the Savior to come again and I know this is a huge step in it. I know that if Romeny was supposed to win he would have. I am sad for Romney and the disappointment he must have felt and I am SO sad at half of the American people. It is sad that there is really that much wickedness out there! It will just be an interesting/could be scary next 4 years. I am SO thankful I know what I know!
On a happy note - so happy for Jeff winning the Senate!

Halloween
The carving of the pumpkins!
This year we went to the trunk or treat at the park the Saturday before Halloween. They had fun with the trunk or treating, hotdogs and chili and the haunted house and hay ride. Here is a picture before heading out to that.
I decided with going to the trunk or treat we would make Halloween night short and sweet. Tylinn had a fever that day and didn't make it to school or trick or treating. It was sad. It broke my heart to leave trick or treating with these 2 and without here. She was a good sport about it! Rhett wanted to be Harry Potter. Twila had a costume he could use but the night of the trunk or treat we didn't have it yet so he settled for a hunter. He was glad for Halloween that he could be Harry Potter! He will be 12 next Halloween so this was his last year of trick or treating.......He will just be going to the Halloween mutual dance blahhhh I would rather him be trick or treating!!

Wood cutting
This is how we spent several of our Saturdays the last couple of months.
Dustin is getting pretty good with the chain saw. We just need another one so he can cut and Bruce.
When we went out last Saturday it was chili. The kids wanted to build a fire.
Rhett Man loading the truck.
Yes Bridget even helps sometimes too! (just kidding!)
Our entertainment while we work!
Love that smile!
Bruce showing Rhett the proper way to split a log.
Rhett in action.
Getting wood is lots of work but we love it. It is something the whole family can go do and everybody help... it's doesn't get much better than that! I think we are finished for this year, so until next year!
Wrestling
It is wrestling and volleyball season. Dustin and Rhett are both wrestling and Bridget is LOVING volleyball! Their games and matches are always at the same time so I have to split where I am watching. I love watching them play!
