For some reason I thought these guys looked extra cute during family scripture reading. It has been fun watching Tylinn learn to read with us.

School Days
Bridget and Dustin were are the fair this school year for picture day so we didn't get class pictures. So Bruce went yesterday and snapped a class picture.
Dustin's 4th grade class - Mrs. Pinneo (he was supposed to have Mrs. Kenney the 2nd half of the year but she didn't end up coming back the whole year - she wanted to stay home with her new baby.)
Bridget's 5th grade class - Mrs. B
They have a program called Golden Mustang at their school that awards the kids for good behavior. Dustin and Bridget both won a gift card for not being in ISS. Dustins was $10 to Subway and Bridget's is $20 to Walmart. Through the year the kids do Golden Mustang Recommendations for kid they see doing good things. The Golden Mustang lady told me that Bridget had the most recommendations anybody has ever had with 49. For every 10 recommendations they get they get a ticket to put in for a big prize at the end of the year. Some of the prizes were bikes, digital camera, $50 Big 5 gift cards, Ipod Shuffle. Neither Bridget or Dustin won any of these this year. They are hoping for next year.
Here is Dustin with some of his buddies: Jon, Chandler, Dustin, Dalton, Noah and Jaylyn.
Bridget pointing to her name in the school that has reached reading over 1 million words.
The kids have had a great school year. Dustin is very excited because he won for Student Council next year. Guess school's out in a couple of hours until next year!

Talent Show
I have been spending lots of time lately at the school with the kids end of year activities. Capps had a talent show. Dustin did want to do anything in it but Bridget wanted to play the piano. Here she is....

Tylinn's Kindergarten class put on "The Little Red Hen" play yesterday at school. Tylinn kept talking about it and was so excited she got to be The Little Red Hen. Above is a picture of her with her friend Paige. They did a really good job and it was lots of fun.
Beware - it may make you sea sick! Sorry!

The telephone
Is it supposed to be a good thing that my 4 year old knows how to call me on my cell phone???
I couldn't figure out which kid kept dialing my phone number for Kaylee because sometimes when I leave she could call me every 5 minutes until I would quit answering. Finally it dawned on me maybe she could do it herself. So one day after running errands and her calling me a ton I gave her the phone and told her to call my cell phone - sure enough she did. I asked her who taught her and she said it was Tylinn! Hmmm.

Girl Time
This year I was going to send a camera with Bruce and the boys so I could get some pictures of the Father's and Sons Outing but I forgot to give him one. We started out our night with Bridget's softball game. After that it was on to Subway. Then we had to do our traditional pedicures.
I knew after Bridget's game, dinner and pedicures it would be time for Tylinn and Kaylee to go to bed so Bridget and I rented a movie for us to watch together after the little girls went to bed. Bridget laid on the floor with the rest of us while Tylinn and Kaylee were going to sleep. I got up so Bridget and I could start our movie and Bridget was sacked out too - sooo I watched the movie by myself.
The boys had lots of fun. It was a stake outing this year so there were lots of people there. They had fun having Reed and his boys with them and camp by them.

Mother's Day Helpers
Yesterday was a great Mother's Day. Bruce has been very good to take care of things on Mother's Day so it's a break for me. This year he decided it's really nice when your kids get older and can help a lot with things:
Dustin making my bed
Rhett pealing potatoes for mashed potatoes to go with the roast
Bridget making a cake for Strawberry Shortcake
Tylinn and Kaylee making lots of cards
Me with the paper PURPLE flower that Bridget made me at school and Bruce and the kids got me these pretty hanging PURPLE flowers.
It was a great day. I'm thankful for the 3 Mother's I have still alive that continue to teach me - mostly by their great example. I am SO thankful that I am able to be a Mom.

Dustin's School Happenings
Dustin decided to follow in Bridget's foot steps and run for 5th Grade Student Council Rep. They did a vote in their classes then onto the 4th grade. Here he is giving his speech to the 4th grade. Took me by surprise that he wanted me there to watch him. He did a good job. We won't know if he won or not for another week or so.
That same day the 4th grade had a Science Fair. Here is Dustin with his project. He did it on speaker noise and got an A+ on it. Good job Dustin.

This past weekend we were very blessed to take our family to The Gila Valley Temple open house. The kids had a half day of school on Friday so we left as soon as they got out. We got to the valley drove past the temple on the way to the motel. Got to the motel changed and headed to the temple. Here are a few pictures:
The kids LOVED to be able to go inside the temple. The oldest 3 went to the Snowflake Temple open house but they were too young to remember much at all. They remember the tent on the outside of it and that's about it. It was packed when we were there so I felt like we were rushed getting through. I tried to explain a little more to the older kids then the tour guide did to help them understand a little more what Bruce and I do when we go there.
Tylinn loved every minute of it. Before we left our house she said "Mom, are we supposed to have a special feeling when we go inside the temple". I of course told her yes that Heavenly Father's spirit will be very strong in there. Well while we were sitting in the church ready to watch the movie they showed before our tour they had pretty music playing and Tylinn says: "Mom, I have that special feeling with me right now." It was really sweet. She walked the whole time with her arms folded loving every minute of it. After we got finished Dustin walked up to me and says "Thanks Mom, that was fun." In other words it was well worth the trip over there. Tylinn was really impressed and relieved there were bathrooms in the temple - part of the tour they took us through the women's changing room so she saw the bathrooms. She mentioned a couple of times after she was glad there were bathrooms in there.
All of our favorite part was the chandelier in the Celestial Room. It was huge and beautiful. The sealing room had a pretty big one like it but it was a little smaller. The kids all liked the eternity mirrors in the sealing rooms. They liked the quite in there and the feeling in the Celestial room.
After the temple we went back and the kids had their hearts set on swimming. It was not warm. We were cold standing outside the temple waiting to go in fully dressed and not wet. We ended up getting in the hot tub and the brave kids got in the pool for a few minutes then back to the hot tub.
Saturday morning it was a lot warmer because the sun was shining so the kids swam some more. Bruce and I had had enough of the freezing the night before we showered and got ready for the day.
Bruce enjoyed a nice phone call with his brother Scott while out watching the kids. It was really nice to put floaties on Tylinn and Kaylee and not have to be right there hanging on to them the whole time. I'm amazed at how easy things like that are getting these days - love it.
It was a great trip - loved my kids being able to see in the temple. They loved it and swimming as usual.
