Back to School

On the first day the teachers came back to work for the new school year, it was a Western Day theme.
Let's do this, year 23!

CO>>>TX

It's one of our favorite weeks of the summer!  Shay Shay, and the kids drove from Colorado to stay the week!  It's a week filled with all of the things!!  Lots of swimming, shopping, eating Mexican food, playing with old friends, walking/snuggling the dogs, and whatever else may come up!  Anything goes this week!
As we bid them farewell, we always look forward to the next time!

Home

We had a few days after we arrived home from vacation to clean up the camper and get the house ready before our favorite Colorado cousins came to stay.
Sweet summertime!

Gibsland, LA

We left on Sunday and drove to Vicksburg, MS, where we stayed for the night.  We got up on Monday and headed for home.  Barrett had his first adventure pulling the camper on the interstate today.
We made a pit stop in Gibsland, LA, the place where America's most notorious outlaw couple, Bonnie and Clyde, were ambushed and killed.
Next stop: HOME!

Hunting Island - Last Day

Our last day was a good one!  We headed to Beaufort for lunch at Lowcountry Produce Market and Cafe.
We walked through town and stopped at our favorite Lowcountry Cider Company.  We've now visited both of their locations.
An apple hand-pie and a cup of coffee can't be beat!
We went back to Hunting Island to visit the lighthouse.  It's still under refurbishment, so we couldn't go inside.
We ended the evening at the beach, shark tooth hunting, boogie boarding, and watching the sun set.
Robert and Barrett each found 2 teeth and then called it quits.
Brynn found a total of 90 teeth on this trip.  She kept each day's finds in the camper, adding to her collection as the trip progressed.
It was the perfect way to spend our last day!

Hunting Island State Park - Day 3

We started our day in much the same way as the previous days.  We spent the morning on the beach.  Kaleb boogie boarded, Brynn hunted for shark teeth, Barrett and Robert relaxed in chairs under our canopy, while I floated between all of it.
She found some really tiny shark teeth!
After a day at the beach, we showered and went to town for the evening.  We stopped by the local roadside souvenir shop, Barefoot Bubbas.
Brynn had the happiest day of her life when she found her first-ever personalized souvenir shop trinket, with her name spelled correctly and everything!  It was a keychain with the Hunting Island Lighthouse, which was perfect!
Afterward, we went to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, Dockside.
While we waited for our table to become available, we took a walk around the marina.  We were disappointed to learn that the little shop inside had closed down.

We ordered an appetizer, which resulted in one serving.  We all passed it around and took one bite.  We got quite a laugh over this.
The Seafood and Grits never disappoint.
We decided to drive into Beaufort to walk around the historic houses after we ate dinner.
The historic homes and Spanish Moss never get old!
This home was built in 1790
We stopped back by Barefoot Bubbas for ice cream on our way back to the campground.  It was another great day in the Lowcountry!
