Synapses firing all over the place! Warning, tangential post ahead... but you are not surprised, right?

As I created this sock last evening for the swap, I thought of dear Sujata and her "Cherry on the Top Award"....sent her a little email and the connection we shared was a Cherry on the Top for my day....

After finishing the socks...I finished "The Lost Symbol" and what I read in the last chapters was amazing!!!!!!!!!!!  Few thoughts to share with you for fun and to inspire some thought or an AH-HA moment....

Wahoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Socks are darned and ready for mail!!!!

The fav sock of my collection that I completed today.  From Dr. Seuss to Kaffe Fassett to Day of the Dead, quilting fabric reminds me that a swap can take on so many connotations!  In the mail on Monday and looking forward to seeing what socks I get in exchange!!!

Godwink, Reduce Reuse Recycle and "Can u relate?"....

I am so excited, my oldest is about to arrive for a long 4 day weekend and what a gift for a mom for Valentine's!  The guest room/ quilt haven is a disaster and so I went in to tackle a clean up....

and.....make a sock for the swap....

and the selvage on the above fabric was quietly waiting for me on the desk- CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!?

And FOX IN SOCKS right next to it....I am not kidding,

I am in the driver seat getting ready to head to the field this past Wednesday....I ask myself, "Em, where have you put the keys now?".........and then I look over to the passenger window and spy in the mirror.....

Cute little cupid has done it again!!!!!!!!! Love darts everywhere!

This kitty is on her side wanting her belly rubbed....ok I am technically challenged.....

Did anyone share the same sentiment as me when the Christmas season was over and the thoughts of PEACE and Merry Wishes being tucked away until the next year....wishing it would last all year long......

Well in Blogland, it does!  No need to fret that loving words and gifts of creativity will have to wait, there seems to be a holiday each day somewhere that gives us an excuse to CELEBRATE!

And this morning when I awoke from a very late night in the field....Dearest Jenny at Sewprettydresses.blogspot.com had mailed me a little love to open while sipping coffee...How darn adorable is this felt Valentine and with a kitty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  You know me and kitties!!!!!!

I may be pushing the envelope with the color schemes of red, green, torquoise and cheddar but I have a hard time being a rule follower..... :).....

Yesterday afternoon I was lying on my bed for a quick power nap and dear kitty, Kevin, snuggled closely and I found myself lulled to calm by his purring and warmth. 

His purrrr was sweet like the candy in a Pez Dispenser.....May someone's voice or words be sweet to your ears today and yummy in your belly!

Wednesday is WONDERFUL! or Full of WONDER!? Taking on different nuances....

My heart is bursting with color as I share this WONDERFUL birthday card that Patty made for me!    Can you believe the details that she has added to make it just for me....That is what is so touching and humbling...that through a blog and emails, we have connected and enjoy little nuances of one another.  She chose, (wanted a pony) fabric, with the imagining that is what I would ask for with my delight in visiting my brother's horses and....wait until you the back.....I giggled out loud....and how appropo for

Wilderness Wednesday...

It has been too long since we played "BEEP BEEP, Come join the funbus!" as I head to the Utah woods to visits kids and CELEBRATE their sobriety and emotions and a general AWESOM time in nature..

"TOO"sday's "TOO FUN" quilt....Lucky Preshy!

I think Preshy's smile says it all, "THANK YOU, MOM!"  RaeAnna and I did a quilt last year via email instructions and emails and then voila...she sent me this photo on Sunday of her quilt, yep it is her second quilt of all time and look at those perfect triangle points!  So fun and I remember when this little girl was born and now she is CELEBRATING her 8 year birthday!  Thanks for sharing, RaeAnna!!!

Roxy has finished the Whimsy of Life and it is off to the post office!

CELEBRATING the whimsy of life and the PASSION AND PEOPLE that bring a bounce to my step, breeze in my hair and the little push that swings me that much higher...I can almost touch the sky!

Which little fairy are you?

It's a close tie of what was more fun for me with this project, the piecing or the quilting with Roxy.  She skated along the surface like a smooth ice rink and now it is bound and ready to mail....

As I finished the binding while celebrating Crystal Bowersox's music video success I thought.....

"O O O O O" (there are those darn little O's again that we love so much..Thank you, "O"prah for your inspiration of your O on your mag).... Ohhhh this could be a piece CELEBRATING the mini contest of People, Patterns and Passions announced in the most recent Quilters Newletter......Nope, not mini enough.....So.......

a surprise for a  lady who has the job of gifting hope and joy to women all over the world with one word at a time....

And have you visited Victoria at BumbleBeacns, Inc.?  She asked us quilters if it is the process or the end result that inspires us to quilt....

I am definitely the process and prefer that sometimes there not be a result beyond the emotion of me being in the moment......

Roxy loved adding rays of sunshine to this little area.....and pleating the fairy skirt was so flattering....

How demure this sweet princess is....  I have always preferred to be the fairy who gifts then receives....Something so fun about sending a surprise....

Roxy had so much fun quilting these balloons! and as I quilted the lines I wondered if my fairy was underwater for a moment swimming...

And this is the quintessential moment of womanhood, when we remember what it is like to still be a girl!

Monday's Mantra- Skating along......

Guess who I thought of when I saw this?  YEP!!!!! Ms. Unruly Quilter!  And little did I know that when I entered this indoor skate park that I would be brought to tears of awe and humility.......

Noah's "O" for his birthday..Cakes are a specialty of Sean's...It's really a skateboard wheel Noah reminded me when i OOOhed over the "O"'s :),

And then the X....hmmmm XoXoXo.  My little skating animal who doesn't mind being in a cage for this.  A type of farside zoo cartoon...Monkeys watching the monkey on the skateboard...

As we entered the Truck Stop skate park in Bend......skate boards with Christ on the graphics, arms spread out  saying, WELCOME!  and then a "prayer box".....YEP....a quiet humble Christian cashier who CELEBRATED their skate church as we inquired.  AMAZING how GOD is so open to making church inviting for youngsters and reminding us that he likes us to PLAY and CELEBRATE in what delights our hobby soul!

The Statue of Liberty reminds us that it is a free country to skate along and CELEBRATE...

Skating:  one or more planned sequences of spins, dancing, jumps and maneuvers...

YEP..,..Today's Mantra....A fabulous way to say, "HELLO NEW WEEK!"
