When you sent me the photo's of your first Christmas Tree it made me happy. My heart is happy that you are so happy in all areas of your life. I couldn't resist getting you the Baubles with your names on them that light up. I mean to say there was a Chelsea and a Lucas, so I had to buy them right ? Love Mum

The No Peeking tag seemed appropriate as apparently she
was ! Red cobweb ribbon from Craftqueen

The 2Crafty chipboard frame is from Craftqueen, as is the little beads and satin seam binding. I rubbed gesso over the frame and then added a bit of gold kindy glitz here and there

CSI #102 ~ FUN MEMORIES

Hello bloggy friends
The case file over at CSI had me stumped for awhile, but sometimes you just have to start.
I ended up liking it and really enjoyed the creative process

and there is a fab sketch by Emma Stafrace. I was inspired by the sketch, but it sort of went on its own journey in the end.
Fun Memories

Evidence ~ Branches and leaves~ I have torn the top PP back to reveal this on the back PP
Gold Accents ~ I have used gold paint on the chipboard tucked in the side ( this was inspired by Kim) I didn't have any frame chippies so I use the negatives of some scrapmatt chippies that I had left, broke them up and added texture paste and pressed an embossing folder into the texture and then painted with gold and green. Thanks Kim for sharing your talent with us .
Circles ~ I have used circle PP under my Photo's. The green is canvas that I have painted with water paints.
Testimony ~ I have journalled about the  gift of family. Journalling says ~ The best gift for me is being together as a family creating happy memories.
Other products used  ~ Flair button from StudioFourteen40
Scrapmatts word chippies
TCW Scrip Star Mask from Craftqueen
Kaiser Stamp from Marally Craft
Some closies

These photo's of my boys and Grandson were taken on the night we put our Christmas Tree up.

Thanks for calling by. I know it is a busy time of year, but I hope you can find time to join us in the challenges at Orange Paperie and ColorMeScrappy
Love and Peace

I LOVE Scrapmatt Reindeers and Snowflake Chippies.
The Flair button is from StudioFourteen40
The Joy chippie banner letters are also Scrapmatts

I have journalled on a tag and slid inside a glycine bag. The journalling says ~ My family are good sports when it comes to the putting up of the Christmas tree. I play carols, make everyone wear a Santa hat and take a million photo's. They know it is a tradition that makes me Happy.

THERE LIVED A BEAUTIFUL PRINCESS

Evening Blog land friends,
Sharing a layout for PunkyScraps ( thank you for Lizzy for always finding these challenge sites)
The inspiration is
and you can also use the sketch
I have used both the photo ( Dress ups) and the sketch

Our niece sent us a gorgeous photo of My husband's Goddaughter Remi , in the cute little dress we brought for her, so of course I wanted/needed to scrap it.
I wanted to use the recent Bo Bunny "double dot " PP I had recently purchased . I sat the photo on the PP for a couple of days, not sure how I was going to make it work. I have to say I was happy with the end result.

It is a bit hard to see , but the Prima Smile and Lock and Key chipboard and the Scrapmatts Chevron chippies I have used Croco Crackling and then painted with Shimmerz, which gives a lovely soft pastel pink effect. The gorgeous flair button is from StudioFourteen40. Thank you Lizzy for the Stars , I love them. Satin Seam binding and circle braid are from Craftqueen. The Bullrush chippy is  from Scrapmatts.
I have put the photo in a Insta frame and backed it onto a envelope I made from baking paper. I am happy with the result.

Thanks so much for calling by. I appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. We would love to see your layouts over at Orange Paperie and ColorMeScrappy , so I hope you can find some time in this busy time of year for some creative time.
A couple of cards
This one Lizzy inspired me to get my Shabby Chic on

and well I LOVE Reindeer's , especially Scrapmatt Reindeer's
I also wanted to share a photo of the lovely treat Kim brought along for our recent get together ..... Delish

OFF THE RAILS SCRAPBOOKING ~ A NEW CHALLENGE SITE

Good afternoon,
I hope your day has been a good one. I have managed to get some scrapping done, which is always nice. There is a new Challenge site called Off the Rails Scrapbooking and the very first challenge is to use Acetate . Acetate is a little hard to photograph, but I promise you it is on my layout

 A Christmas Memory

This was taken Christmas 2006 and would be Dad's last Christmas . I really think it is a lovely photo of Mum, who we lost 12 mths ago.
The PP is MME "Vintage Christmas"
The Rosettes,Satin Seam binding and little gold beads are from Craftqueen
The snowflake which I have added Kindyglitz to is from Scrapmatts
I have stamped Memories on Acetate and placed on the photo next to the reindeer
I also stamped a flourish on acetate and traced around the pattern with Kindyglitz and tucked in beside the photo. It is very hard to see on the photo , especially as the lace material has silver thread running through it as well. But if you look really hard you will see it.

I have used a Mix-ables stencil with texture paste and rubbed Pan Pastel over the design as well as some kindyglitz and gold twinkling H2O's paint
The Lacey material was from my Mum's material box.

To frame my layout I have used thin gold wire and old twine from an old reel that was Mum's & intertwined them.
Looks like a nice challenge site, so you might like to pop over and have a look.
On another note, I received the most gorgeous Christmas Card from Lizzy today and I LOVE it. Lizzy knows I love Shabby Chic

Don't forget we would love you to join in the challenge over at Orange Paperie  and ColorMeScrappy. Both totally different colour palettes, but equally gorgeous
Love and Peace Mary x

DAFFODIL DELIGHT ~ WHITE WITH ONE CHALLENGE

Morning ! on this brisk Saturday. Hard to believe we had a couple of days of quite hot weather to flakes of snow this week, yep , only in Orange!
Luckily the weather was nice while Lizzy was here . I was amazed how lightly Lizzy packed but still managed to have everything she needed to do a couple of layouts and several cards ( I could take some lessons from this woman!)
Anyway one of the layouts we did together was for WW1 challenge, which is White with yellow this month. Wait till you see Lizzy's layout it is gorgeous!
I decided to scrap a photo of my Grandson sitting in a field of daffodils . My Middle son who is a photographer for Orange City Life needed the photo for the cover. Jedd was not impressed and apparently My eldest son ( his Dad) had to act a little crazy to get Jedd to smile. It's a boy thing I guess.

The gorgeous flair button is from StudioFourteen40 and the Good Stuff  and chevron arrows is a Amy Tangerine stamp ~ a pressie from Lizzy :) as is the little stars and Smile Often sentiment. Wash tape , tiny twine and yellow rosettes are from Craftqueen . You make me Happy stamp is a kaiser stamp from Marally Craft

I would like to thank Lizzy for the inspiration of the title and journalling.
I have journalled on a tag tucked in the side which says ~
"Daffodil Delight (not) Jedd didn't think it was delightful at all. But he was a good boy and helped his uncle Christopher out who needed a cover for Daffodil Day for Orange City Life. 23rd August 2012

Thanks so much for popping by . I really appreciate your comments.
I will leave you with a photo of our scrapping day with Lizzy ( which I have borrowed from her site) Hope you don't mind Lizzy

I have my scrapbooking class today, so I had better go get organised
Wishing you a day filled with Sunshine

THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS ~ NEW CHALLENGE AT ORANGE PAPERIE & A GIVEAWAY

Hello !
Well the year is flying ever so fast , but the new challenge is posted at Orange Paperie  and I sure hope you can find the time to join us.
The challenge is a colour inspired challenge ~ to use Gold, Silver and white. How pretty is that !
The lovely Janice Nicholls is our GD for the month and has created a beautiful layout. So pop over and check out the inspiration and also visit Janice's blog to see her lovely work.
My layout is of my Grandchildren putting my DD's Bauble on the Christmas Tree. As many of you know it is out tradition to have a family dinner on my DD's Birthday and then put the tree up together as a family. As Chels could not be home due to work my Grandchildren put her bauble up for her and were pulling sad faces as she was not there.
I love Reindeer's and Scrapmatts have the most gorgeous range.

I sprinkled the reindeer with glitter, but they look fantastic in their raw state as well.
I have framed the layout with thin gold wire.
I really hope you can find the time to join us this month.
On another note, I had the pleasure of Lizzy Hill stay with me for a couple of nights. We did a lot in those two days ~ we talked a LOT, managed to have a coffee and citrus tart, I took Lizzy on a little tour of my town (lots more to see Lizzy, so you have to come back) and scrapped. I hope it's not to long before we get together again. I so wish I lived near this lady. I was to busy talking and scrapping to take any photo's , but the other girls took some , so I am sure you will see them popping up on their blogs.
OK I must get organised and get out of my PJ's
And before I go I would like to share this fabulous giveaway from Scrapfriends. Boy I would love to win all this goodness
Who wouldn't love to win this, so pop over to Scrapfriends and check it out.
Also Craftqueen is celebrating 7 years in business and is having a give away (The pic is in my sidebar at the top). You will have to be quick, as it is being drawn tomorrow afternoon 6th Dec
Love and Peace

COLORMESCRAPY # 51 ~ BEAUTIFUL

Morning!
Well I am very lucky as I have a special scrappy friend with me today ~ none other than the lovely Lizzy Hill, we have indulged in citrus tarts and coffee so far, and now I hope to channel inspiration from her :) Lizzy is waving excitingly from Orange .
Now down to business. The new challenge is up at ColorMeScrappy and it is a lovely colour combo. I love the greens .

And then the sketch
Now I was influenced by the sketch and I'm sure if you look really hard you will see the sketch in there ......

I was really happy with how this turned out. I had a lot of fun using texture paste, sprays and inks and using my stamps ( something I am making an effort to do more of)
I used Tim Holts Distress stains on my stencil and on the stamp of the flower .
The photo was taken in beautiful Tuscany.
Hope you can join us in this fabulous colour combo.

Now off to scap  with Lizzy :)
Hope your day is a good one, mine is going to be.
Oh and seeing I don't really do cards I was really pleased with the Birthday Card I made my daughter. The lace on the card is from my going away wedding top and the flowers are from a very old forty styles hat that was one of my old aunts and I actually wore for my daughter's christening.

Love and Peace & Sunshine
