Fortune of Error

This band ... they had such a great journey together!  They won Battle of the Bands twice at the school (2015-2016), won Crowd Favorite at Region twice, and had a blast performing at State Battle of the Bands.  In the end, the 2 oldest graduated and went on missions.  They grew together so much over those couple of years, though, and were so fun to watch perform. :)

Celebrating Grandma

For Christmas, we local Farleys asked Grandma to give us a night at a downtown hotel all together.  And it was absolutely the best gift!  We had so much fun hanging out together ... We had a photo scavenger hunt through City Creek, took a walking historical scavenger hunt through Temple Square, ate out, swam, played games in the hotel hallway ... Wish the Blakes had been there, too.

For Mother's Day, we planned to take Grandma for a picnic at the park.  When the weather didn't cooperate, we had a picnic on the family room floor.  Turned out to still be a lovely time. :)

For Grandma's 75th birthday, we had a real picnic in the park since we know that's what Grandma likes best!

Sure love Grandma Farley!

Fun year at school ...

Both of the youngest girls had the best teachers this year.  I couldn't be happier. :) I'm also heavily involved in PTA this year, so I get to be at the school for a lot of their fun activities.

The 6th grade made their own hot air balloons and launched them into the air ...

We had a Dash for Cash as a fundraiser this year.  Such a success (we raised 4x what we ever have before!) and the kids had so much fun.
How cool are these grandparents that came to cheer on their grandson?

 For Valentine's Day, the 6th grade has an Etiquette Luncheon.  Steph Hess & I were in charge this year, and it felt like we were throwing a wedding reception!  So many details :{

We had some of the dads act as waiters :)

The kids are paired up for a nice walk down the hall together.  Paige & Cameron have been friends all of their lives, so it was funny to see them paired up for the lunch.  They were great sports about it, though!

And dancing afterward ...

Haley's last band concert as a student at Millcreek Jr High, and Paige's first.  Because Paige already plays flute, she'll be playing up a year next year.  Mr King invited the 6th graders who will be playing up to join in for the spring concert. Pretty fun and scary for her.

The 3rd grade has the fantastic tradition of having a Mother's Day Ball, where moms wear ball gowns and tennis shoes and play a game of kickball against the kids.  Seriously, so fun!

Miss Debbie, the school's beloved secretary had a job change and left the school at the end of the year.  We had to send her off right. :)

Paige's class had a medieval reader's theater, where each child was a different character from the time period.  Paige was a pampered princess and nailed it ;).  I also loved what Mrs. Pitt did to get the kids' attention.

I was able to go on lots of field trips and to volunteer in both girls' class rooms doing literature circles, math help, and whatever else I could help with.  Such a great year!
