'Tis the Season

I seriously love fall, all the way through until Christmas.  Truly my favorite time of the year. :) We have to do the traditional festivities, of course....

We drove the Alpine Loop this year -- a first for us.

Ward trunk-or-treat

Mike always claims the right to take the kids trick-or-treating, which was only one child this year.  Elle still likes to have her dad close by when it gets dark on Halloween night.

Thanksgiving was spent in Arizona this year, which was a fun break from tradition.  Nana, Tom and Leokadia came, too, which was the best!

Thanksgiving morning ....

We missed having this beautiful missionary in Calgary with us, but she came home soon after Christmas.

Then we came home to this winter wonderland!

The Farley family Christmas party is the best. :)

One of my highlights is directing the Christmas Choir at Elle's school.  Such a fun tradition, and one that is worth the early mornings and effort for sure!

Elle

This girl .... Officially 10 and such a gift to our family. :)

Had to get stitches for the first time :{

She had a fascination with Utah's governor, Gary Herbert.  She would see signs around town, started laughing at his name, started searching for signs wherever we went,

and then became kind of obsessed.  :)  Her class took a field trip to the Capitol, which added to her obsession....

The highlight of her year was when Mike called from work and said that Gov. Herbert would be visiting ... and Elle could come meet him.  She absolutely freaked out.  What other 10 year old is obsessed with a governor?   He thought it was really cute, and took time to take pictures and talk with her.

For her birthday, we took some friends to a beauty college and got their hair, nails and makeup done.

She has so many cute friends....

4th grade year was filled with dance, as she performed in a dance company.

Such a fun, happy, kind influence on those around her. Love this girl. :)
