More Car Pictures

I decided not to wash the car before taking pictures again. It just gets so dusty with all that construction across the street.

What a Cute Little Boy

My parents have told me that when I was younger, I was often mistaken for a little boy. They claim that it was because I was practically bald, but after seeing some pictures, I've decided that it has a lot to do with the way I was dressed.

I am not pointing fingers, because my daughter has been mistaken for a little boy several times as well. I should probably be more careful about how I dress her.

Car update

Several days ago I mentioned that our car was costing us a lot of money this month. Well, hopefully we're all through spending for now. We ended up buying four new rims to replace the ones that were bent. It turned out to be kind of an upgrade because we originally had steel rims and now we have aluminum ones. They look pretty good!

Crawling Down the Stairs

Yesterday I was trying to take a picture of Ashlyn crawling down the stairs, but she was not being very cooperative. She decided that she just wanted to have a seat and chill for awhile. Today, I caught a few action shots of her coming down. She is so fast!

Swinging

It was such a beautiful day today that Ashlyn and I decided to take a walk. We went to Springwater Park, which is just around the corner from our house. I pushed Ashlyn in the swing for a little bit. Does it look like she enjoyed it? It isn't obvious, but she did.

Pediped Dilemma

Recently, I was trying to decide whether or not to buy Ashlyn a pair of Pedipeds. I'd heard that they were super comfortable and easy to walk in and that toddlers just loved them. The problem was that the shoes cost $29 and I was having a hard time justifying spending that kind of money on a pair of shoes that Ashlyn would quickly outgrow. At the same time, I wanted her to have a comfortable pair of shoes to learn to walk in. Well, after several weeks of debate I decided to buy this cute pair of Pedipeds to be her summer shoes. I figure if she wears them with all her Sunday dresses and her shorts and jeans until the end of the summer, then it could really be worth it. At this point, we are just loving them. Hopefully I'll be just as happy about the purchase at the end of the summer!

Roommate Reunion

About two months ago, we had Brad's roommates from freshman year come over. It is actually pretty cool that they all live close enough to make it to a get-together. I figured that I would post the pictures, since so many of you know them. These were taken in our living room before we painted the walls and put some furniture in it!

Eating a Cheerio

Ashlyn is very good at eating Cheerios. It is so cute to watch her pick them up with two fingers. If you look really closely, you can see the new paint in the living room and by the front door. It isn't anything exciting, but we really like how it turned out.

The Month of the Car

Cars . . . you can't live without them, but sometimes you wish you could. Sunday, my Corolla started making some funny noises and I recognized them as a sign that it was time to get the oil changed. So, yesterday I took the car to get an oil changed AND it needed a new air filter. Well, I also got a notice in the mail that April was the month to register my car, so this morning I took it to the shop to get an Emission test and then get it registered. The mechanic there informed me that one of my tires was so bald that it could likely blow on me at any moment. So, I promptly stopped off to have my tire changed . . . which ended up being three tires changed. The mechanic there informed me that my tires were wearing down way too fast because three of the car's rims were badly bent! How in the world do rims get badly bent? So, now I am in the process of trying to find the most reasonably priced rims I possibly can. I've already call three salvage yards and no luck yet. What fun. I guess I should just be glad that I have a car.

Climbing the Stairs

It just amazes me how fast babies grow up. It seems like just yesterday that Ashlyn was helpless without us, but now she is an independent girl! This morning I left her playing in the family room while I went up to the kitchen. Several minutes after I left her, I went to the stairs to look down and there she was . . . on the top stair. She made it up 6 stairs all on her own and I'm just lucky she didn't fall. These pictures are of her attempting the second flight of stairs and then trying to come down them when she saw me with the camera (she loves all adult things like cameras, phones, and remotes).

Checking Out the Pantry

I have to be careful about what doors I leave open (closet doors, cupboard doors, refrigerator door and even the pantry door), because Ashlyn just loves checking everything out. This is a picture of her exploring the pantry on Saturday. She was dressed up because we were just about to leave for a reception.

Exploring Under the Bed

Earlier today, I was in our bedroom putting away clothes. Ashlyn was crawling around on the floor. I heard her starting to fuss, and I looked down to find her. She had crawled underneath our bed and was trying to sit up. Unfortunately, the bed was not quite that tall, and she kept on bumping her head. She was crying and frustrated when I peeked under and saw her, so I decided that I better help her out right away, instead of running to get the camera and taking a picture. I just love how she likes to explore everywhere . . . even under the bed!

Valances

While my mom was here, she helped me sew two valances to go over the windows in the family room. I was happy with how they turned out. Here are two pictures of them:

Our Home

For those of you who have not yet seen our house (we've been in it for about 4 1/2 months now), I took a picture yesterday. Saturday, Brad's parents were over helping us with the lawn. Neither one of us has much experience caring for a yard, so we have a lot to learn. I didn't take pictures of the inside because we are in the process of painting the living room and kitchen. What fun. When that large project is finished, I will take some more photos, or . . . you could just come for a visit and see for yourself!

I'm a Blogger Now

Well, I have decided to join the ranks of the bloggers. I really enjoy finding out what is going on in the lives of my friends and family, so for those who are interested in what is happening in the May family, I want to keep you updated too! I have posted some pictures of Ashlyn that my Mom took. Enjoy!
