So even after being a mom for the past 6 years.. OMG has it been 6 years? That's halfway to a decade, you think you pretty much got a handle on what it takes or at least a bare minimal.
For me, I go through the bulk of motherhood by instinct rather than googling everything and comparing everything (ok maybe i'm partly lazy as well) ...and through what was thought to me through my own parent's way of upbringing children.
I think my parents did a pretty decent job with my brother and I albeit nazi at some point and I hope to pass this down to Nate and Nelly.
Until I was introduced into this world of many more mothers with children of Nate's age. You see, you can pretty much just live an insular lifestyle where it's just you and your kid who would have a minimal number of friends for well, the first 5 years of his life until he goes to school.
That's when you start to meet with other mothers, who are pretty much going through the same life crisis, trials, celebrations, excitements and anxieties.
You share stories and compare notes and most importantly, support each other.
I digress but i'm sure you get the picture.
So recently I learnt this new term called the "SAHM".
WADDAT?
It's short for Stay At Home Mom...
To me, it has always been short for Singapore Art and History Museum.
We learn new things everyday and actually, I wouldn't mind spending my time being at and being a S.A.H.M.
