Spider man came into town yesterday and it was great meeting up with Joan again.. His climb was fun to watch but it would have been more exciting if there weren't any 4 arrest systems in play.

Every year we cover the National Day Parade and every year we complain it looks exactly the same. This time round, for the preview, a few of us had the priviledge to climb up the north column of the Singapore Flyer which would bring us to the pivot point or the exact center of the wheel. It was a process which involved an advance briefing and some check lists. Climbing is easy. Climbing with all the camera equipment and harnesses becomes a challenge but i'm happy to say that we all made it up safely and nothing was damaged thanks to our dive marine experts. It took us about a half hour to get up and we did have some ventilation as we pulled ourselves up the verticle cat ladders. The view was spectacular and so was the breeze. And as tradition would have it, we'd find oursleves making fun of oursleves in the process of our work. One person even asked if i was the first female to climb up that column and yes i am. So i guess that makes me the orginal Singapore Girl, What a Great Way to Fly-er.
