Talk about being Thorough

picture and caption by bryan
Today, marked the passing of yet another year. Another NDP preview to cover.
The security checks are always so tight and sometimes, we get bored by the same routine so we find ways to amuse ourselves.

Portraits

from this bean-like thingy

to this (portrait from right side- left hand on head)
My sea-monkey is a boy, and it has a face, and everything and in fact, Babies' spines from the ultra-sound look like dinosaurs. So.. they do this thing called the detailed scan when you're 5 months ripe and that's when they measure the skull, count the fingers, monitor the growth etc. We experimented taking a 3-D image of him and got a profile which shows baby's JAWLINE which looks exactly like the Sengs'!
So yes please feel free to throw in name ideas..... and take a look at the early album here.

I'll Hard sell Shel

This picture was taken off the Shel Silverstein website.
I LOVE everything about SHEL
I think he should be added into our School syllabus.

Wine in Winter

It didn't matter if it was winter.
We made it to the Sandalford Wineyard anyway, determined to get ah seng straggling (drunk) out of there. Though there were no grapes, wine tastings and the food we had for lunch there made up for it. And gives us another reason to detox when we return home. See seng drinking wine here.

Rainbow connection

So funny, when i met up with my old classmate Sandra, this rainbow appeared.
Rainbow connection.

for those wondering, we searched really hard for the pot of gold on the ends, but no luck

Beautiful weather i will miss you

Su ann and i managed to catch a 2.5 hour picnic lunch in east perth today. The time spent with my cousin was great and so was the view. I will surely miss the weather in perth when i come home. Check out our lunch outing to catch more of the saturated colours and fine weather.

Unlock the child in you

Amanda 3, Seng's classmate's daughter.
We visited them today... it was good fun especially when they had a giant trempoline in the garden. After a bit of coaxing, the seng finally gave in and well, let loose.
I would have gone in there if I could but i couldn't.
Was great fun watching them go wild in there otherwise.

Resident dolphin

Seng went fishing again. Caught 25 squids (arm-length) and got to play with a resident dolphin. In singapore, we only have resident cats and dogs.

Bitter aftertaste - No one likes em.

After a sleepless realisation that some things just remain bitter - like that bitter aftertaste that lingers in your mouth, even after a few washes, in this case a year, which then turned bad and then even offensive on its own accord, i was so glad to be greeted by thousands of sweet and giant percimmons at Carol's farm in Harvey, Bunsbury, Western Australia. Just about an hour and a half's drive south of Perth. (: We decided to take a drive down with the family to visit Carol, who owns a farm with her hubby. They grow percimmons, grapes, herd cattle and some fish there. Upon arrival, we couldn't help but start to harvest some of the "left-over" percimmons in her orchard. Mind you. These were left-overs. The season was ending and there were still a few thousand percimmons left. Seng had his hand at the quad 250 dirt bike, naturally (with aunty carol giving him DIRT BIKE LESSONS@!!!!!!) and i was left with the clippers along with Jessy the dog in the Orchard. Overall we had fun. And my holiday was redeemed. Until now. Go see SENG LEARNING HOW TO RIDE A QUAD and Jessy the dog with thousands of Percimmons HERE >> http://www.flickr.com/photos/maye/show/

Seng and the blowfish

So we went to North Mole this morning in Freo to fish... Caught mainly Gar fish... this pencil like fish that is ummm much bigger than a pencil. Ah seng did a pretty good job but there was this blow fish, which he could not seem to... blow off.. pa dum pum.
First bite was that puffer fish, and then he started to get lucky with the Gar... then the same little blow fish kept coming back for him... he caught it 3 times in all... But he did a pretty good job fishing... i'm impressed with this hubby.

Gone Fishing.

Sorry to all who need to get in touch with us but- we've gone fishing. Actually we've gone to Perth for a 2 week break. I'm staying with my aunt in her lovely home. Most of our time will be passed fishing, eating, catching up with friends and shopping. We're still reachable on our Singapore cell numbers. And if anyone has any requests from down under, give us a shout. See you all soon and in the mean time we'll post pictures up on my flickr account and at this blog site.

I'm not fat.

Everyone, meet baby. Baby, meet everyone. This was a picture (not the latest) of an ultra-sound of baby at 12 weeks, taken about a month plus ago. We have no idea what the sex of the baby is yet because it refuses to open its legs and insists on doing a shoulder stand with his knees above his head. I sense some sort a stubborn streak in this one. Probably from me. oh well. So if you look at the television screen in the picture, that round thing on the bottom right is the head and the bean-like thing attatched to it is the body. I can't feel anything or see anything other than from these check-ups. So right now, its still very science experiment to me. You know, kind of like when we were kids and growing sea monkeys. Sort of.

Why i don't ever want to be a garden lizard

Yes. my cat is at it again, and no, the lizard didn't die.
