Going bananas over this Ape

I think my colleague said it best by writing : "Singapore's furriest celebrity turned 46 Sunday, to raucous cheers from her fans and a delicious "cake" made of tropical fruits."
She was not only furry, but very diva.....
I learnt too that these days, she only makes special apprearances. And her favourite fruit is Rambutans.
I also learnt that at 46, she has 3 suitors, or lovers, currently seeing a 4th, called Charlie, and has 2 grand daughters and is in the pink of health. She is also the longest living Orang Utan in captivity. In simple words, She Rocks!
I hope i will be able to age as gracefully as this ape. Minus the hair.

Another set of pictures

A friend asked me once...
Do you dream in colour or black and white?
They say that we normally see in colour. So a lot of times, black and white pictures appeal to us because it makes normal situations poetic.
I think that it's pretty true. But without the right moments, a picture lacks soul.
My friend Joyce Fang, took this set of pictures....
I think it captured the moments so well, that the emotions were captured too. I dunno how she did it... at 6am in the morning... If i had to shoot at 6am in the morning, the only thing that would be going through my mind is "Thank God for auto-focus".
So enjoy the pictures... and thanks Joyce. (:

Courtesy Call

This scene may be familiar to some of us who spend time battling with Security Officers (SOs) while trying to get our shot of the famous but standered "grip n grin" shot. Not something that will win us a pulitzer prize but i'm sure if we were to gather all our mis-fires, SO included, we might come up with something like that.
(Just so you know, the characters in these scenes are not real. But the situation often is on our job...
In fact, this was taken during my wedding at the tea ceremony at my grandmother's home. Characters : Chin Hon, seated right, our Straits Times China bureau chief, flew back to Sg to attend wedding, Desmond Foo, seated left, from Toa Payoh North office attended the wedding too, and Bryan, our bestman plays the SO. --- the scenerio with Hon and Foo sitting there was just too tempting, we had to follow through.)

So to those of you who have been wondering where my blog entries have disappeared too... I apologise for the downtime. Had lots to do planning the wedding and then with work which is very much in the nature of what you see above. But i'm back and will update you with more pictures. (:
