SoSS 251 D is for DieCut

I missed last months card and I thought about it all month but my creative mojo has been missing. 

Even for this month's challenge I struggled until I finally had a plan. Once I got going I was like, why don't I pull out my Tim Holtz stuff more often. I used to be all Tim all the time.  I do like to get messy with Tim and Dyan stuff, just never seem to have the time when I have the mojo 

Anyways, this month challenge is D is for Diecuts.  When I saw this sentiment by Dyan, it triggered me remembering the moon stencil.. took me a good while to find it but was glad I did.  Then I went looking for the haunted house die by Tim but either I don't own it or I have lost it. I did find one cut out and it was too big for a card, but this row of houses  also by Tim worked.

SoSS 249 F is for Fold it

It's time for another challenge with the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers. 

This month I am not going Snarky, at least at the moment it is not. 

I have made a graduation card..either for my daughter or her boyfriend.

She has said she wanted one.. so probably have to make another.  :) 

There was just a little swearing happening when I made the tassel. I was hoping to buy ready made but what I found wasn't the colors I wanted and definitely not the price I was hoping for.

SoSS 246 ~ N is for New

 

Hello and welcome back   2024 is going to see some changes with the Sisterhood. 

We are going with a once a month format, mainly because we need the time. 

We hope that longer time line will give you more time to participate in our challenges. 

2024 is also our anniversary year.. 10 years of snarkiness!!

The first challenge of 2024 is N is for New. Try a new technique or a new product. 

I decided to use a hot foil plate that I haven't used yet, I did get it awhile ago but was still in the package. 

I made 12 cards .. in December I gave X-mas cards to managers at different locations and did not have time to make some for the managers at my own location, therefore made them New Year cards.

SoSS 244 X is for Xanadu

Hello.. as you know I always take a break from design team stuff during baseball season. As I am finally able to start up, the Sisterhood as a collective, me included, have decided to take a break. All of the Sisters need a break.  This will be our last challenge for 2023. We will be back in 2024 well rested and ready to Snark It Up. We do hope you will join us again when we start up again. 

Our fabulous Lee did an amazing job getting Edna ready for Xanadu. 

I admit I struggled with this one I had something in mind but then didn't have what I thought I did. 

Ended up doing this instead.. which is close to what I wanted to do..

It is hard to tell but the background is gold not black.

Lindsey's Legacy Hop

 Today, we are hopping in memory of our dear friend and fellow cardmaker and sistah, Lindsey Martin-Penny, who sadly passed away last year from a rare and aggressive form of ovarian cancer. 

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Lindsey’s husband Burke thought it would be a great time to sell off her many craft supplies, with all of the proceeds going towards Lindsey’s Legacy Fund for Clear Cell Ovarian Cancer Research in cooperation with The Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

The purpose of this hop will be to honour Lindsey, celebrate her life and all that she loved, as well as help spread the word to raise funds for clear cell ovarian cancer research.  You can help in one of several ways!

Longtime followers of The Sisterhood already know what a joy Lindsey was to so many of us.  Her wit, intelligence and creativity brought so much light into our lives and she is dearly missed. 

Today we are hosting our own little Happy Hour in honor of Linds who did love a good cocktail.  There won't be a gallery however we will be back tomorrow with our regularly scheduled programming.
