SoSS 175 L is for Lewd Christmas

So this week's challenge is our annual naughty holiday challenge. This year we are calling it L is for Lew Christmas and we expect to see some pretty nasty cards. FYI if you don't have a sense of humour, you better not read any further.

I saw this meme in a group I am in and just had to make it into a card. I won't share the photo until after my card so you can see.. but I started with something pretty simple, a Santa donut.. something you see at a place I rarely (maybe twice a year) go into that has the initials TH.

So I made a donut. I used a glaze to give it that glazed donut look, some stickles to make the buckle..

Then I dressed it up with a timbit (donut hole for American friends) and added a saying..
For the timbit I added some texture paste through a Tim Holtz stencil to give it the powdered sugar look.

Here is the meme that I followed..

Anyways I hope you love my card.

Lucy's 3rd birthday

Today is several people's birthdays. A big 50 for my friend Des. My mother-in-law celebrates today as well.  Though neither of those are why I am posting. My friend's granddaughter turns 3 today.  They are having a drive-by birthday parade and I made a little card for her.

I used the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and an old Lawn Fawn stamp and die set that I have.

The background is with an embossing folder and the patterned paper is Crate Paper Hooray.

Black archival ink and Picked Raspberry distress ink. I think I colored the hippo with copics many years ago, the bird and balloon with watered down Dylusions inks.

Don't forget to enter the most recent Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge, it closes on Dec 11th.

SoSS #172 X is for fauX

This weeks challenge at Sisterhood for Snarky Stampers is x is for fauX. It could mean anything really. The sisters came up with some different ideas. Even Edna has her own take on it.

I did faux layering using paper that already had layers put into it. I also did a little bit of faux stitching. I actually think the card looked better before I traced the layers.

I used Bo Bunny paper from many years ago
Distressed ink ground espresso and chipped sapphre.
Stamp set is Recollections Christmas Noel
le pen in brown

SoSS #171 H is for Halloween

This weeks challenge is our annual Pink Halloween challenge for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

I don't give out any Halloween cards so I felt like making an art journal page. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do but then I remembered a year ago when I was at Stampers Anonymous taking a Dyan class I was able to pick up the elusive Monster Mash set, so I pulled it out.

Here are some photos of the product I used.

The little stamp is one from a Stampin' UP set.

This stencil just arrived on Tuesday from Scrapbook.com. The fastest an order has ever made it to Canada from them, I was so excited because it included a stencil so that I can make a gift for a friend

Rubber Dance co.

A bonus photo, my daughter died her hair pink for Breast Cancer awareness.  I lost both my mom (11 years ago) and my step-mom (6 years ago) a couple of years and weeks apart to breast cancer.
The lady is my fabulous friend and hairstylist. She keeps my hair in all it's funky glory.

SoSS 169 S is for Slider

I actually found time to make a card for this weeks Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge.

This week is S is for Slider.. I believe all of the sistah's actually did slider cards.. me since I am in full baseball season (weird/delayed/shortened as it is) did a card about sliding.. into base.

I found the image on line and added the joke on the front, answer on the inside. DJ told me to make sure she was given credit for making the white brad into a baseball (she is the baseball player).

Says:"What did the 2nd baseman say to the runner sliding into base?"

Answer:
It's not in there!

Soss #167 O is for Ocean

Welcome back to another Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge. For this challenge I decided to do an art journal page in my Dyalog. So a small travellers notebook size.

I basically copied one of Dyan's samples because I was really not having any thoughts on my own this week, no creative mojo at all.

So here is what I did...

Here is Dyan's sample

Shite I used in this journal page:
Dylusions dots dyalog
Dylusions paints Island Parrot, blue lagoon, desert sand
Dylusions stencils circles and mermaid tail
Dylusion stamps: Fanciful Flight
Plenty of Fish in the Sea
Glorious Blooms
Bigger Back Chat
Inks in water pens

Many many cards

So many months ago I made a bunch of cards. I had purchased a card kit from Scrapbook and Cards today at the end of February. In March, just before lock down, I finally started the cards while at a crop. I needed my silhouette to cut out things etc. So then, finally in April I sat down and finished those four cards.

Afterwards, I just kept going and made a ton more cards. First up is one that |I made for a colleague moving onto a new job.  (The real white part is me hiding my address.)
I used a sketch from Mojo Monday 312
I used Dylusions stamps for the envelope to make is cheery.

Then a whole ton more birthday cards all using the same card kit. I used a bunch of sketches and added a couple of my own stamps that I already had.

These two use Mojo Monday sketches 485 and 286

Some more cards using Mojo Monday sketches..452, 498,500 and 493. I already gave away the Birthday Wishes (top right) card.

More Mojo Monday sketches 287, 357, 324 and 344. Here I did add some silver paper that I have.

Three of these cards used sketches. Mojo Monday 254, 474 and 428.

I added a bunch of stickles (cards were drying all over the kitchen table).
Patterned paper and embellishments are from Crate Paper .. Hooray.

Anyways, thanks for looking. At least now |I have a good supply of birthday cards. Usually I am looking for one last minute or putting it together as we are running out the door.

When lockdown started I was very creative.. I even scrapbooked virtually with friends and worked on a Disney album (it is pretty much done) and now to maybe photograph some pages and put them into an album.  I even did the day by day with Dyan Reavely for the month of April.
Here is a video of what I did, mostly copied Dyan step by step. It was fun and helped keep my creative juices flowing, got busy with work and juices stopped flowing.

SoSS #165 D is for Dogs

This weeks challenge with the Sisterhood is D is for Dogs.  I really had no creative mojo the past couple of weeks. Yet, I managed to get one done for this weeks challenge.

I already had a Dylusional dog stamped out and just needed a sentiment to kick start something

I ended up using a Hero Arts stamp set and stamped a bunch of sayings on some clear acetate journal cards by Hampton Art with staz on ink. They have been in my stash for YEARS!!

I came up with this..

It doesn't look to bad and there is still some snark in there.

Other stuff I used.
Bo Bunny Crazy Love 6x6 paper pad
Freshly Made Sketch 444
Hero Arts cm272  Snarky Mix & Match sayings

SoSS #163 W is for Water

This weeks challenge for the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is W is for Water. I had an image picked out for this challenge over a month ago but always put off coloring it. I ended up coloring her during a teleconference presentation. LOL The benefits of working from home.

For this card, I went back to just doing the cover and not the whole card. I will add the backing when I use the card. I am sure I have some male friends birthdays coming up that will find it funny.

I also wanted to take the picture during the day, near water. I have two options in my backyard, the pool or the pond. Went with the pool as the pond is a little dirty right now.

Besides sketch 439 from Freshly Made Sketches, Digital Stamp ( Slinky tart) and enamel dots from Simple Stories, I used the following product:
Chameleon Markers

patterned paper

Disclaimer: I lost all my digital stamps on my hard drive and when I was able to retrieve then using a program (and an amazing friend) the files were no longer labeled. That means I have to guess who the stamp belonged too. I am sorry if I get it wrong, please message me so I can correct any mistakes and the artist can get the credit.

SoSS #162 T is for Technique

This week the challenge over at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is T is for Technique. Since everyone seemed to want to know how I did the bleach technique on the last challenge I did it again.
I did another art journal page in my Dylusions small art journal.

Here is how I got to the finished product.

First spray with your inks. I used Dylusions Funky Fuchsia and Black Marble in the top left corner.

I used the leave stamps from Dylusions
Around the Edge and Further around the Edge.
I stamped the corners using black archival ink.

I then used the fine tip Vicki Boutin water brush (the ranger one is good too full of water).

Color each leaf with the water brush (with water) and blot with a paper towel.

Then color the leaves back in with the same color that you sprayed on the rest of the page. In this case Funky fuchsia in a water brush. (Ranger Tim Holtz detailer is the best, I have tried others and they just are not as good. I am slowly switching the all over)

Here is the video of Dyan demonstrating the technique.
