Wild Card Wednesday & Happy New Year

Well it's the last Wild Card Wednesday of the year and the last day of the year.
When I colored up the image for the wild card for two weeks ago I did 2 of them. I was hoping to change the list to a wine bottle but I didn't have one..just a bunch of drink glasses that had "stuff" in them. So I carefully stamped one missing the stuff and cut the list off and added it to the image. I also used some wink of stella on the glass.
I then stamped the sentiment and then had troubles coming up with a design so I looked up some card sketches..still nothing.
Then I went to the Sketch n Scrap blog and used one of their sketches for  December.  Bingo..that was perfect. I found some old washi tape and ribbon, cut up the sentiment from the Dylusions stamp set and made a tag.
So here is my card..

and here is the sketch...

Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing what comes in the new Scraptures kits.

Y is for Yuck

It is time for another Sisterhood of Snarky Sisterhood challenge. This weeks challenge is to use something yucky or about something yucky.

I went with something yucky, at least for my taste. I used house of 3 daily junque paper. I have had it for awhile, no clue why I held on to it because it just doesn't get my creative juices flowing.

You really need to check out what the rest of the team has done..always a great job.

I also used the sketch from Deconstructing Jen.

Wild Card Wednesday

To read how this card came about visit the Scraptures blog.

I hope you have a Merry Christmas and I will, fingers crossed, have a card for you to see for the Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers next challenge (still a couple of days to enter the Naughty Christmas challenge).

Naughty List

I was running out of time to get a card done for today's wild card Wednesday post for Scraptures, busy weekend, busy evenings..the normal stuff. I also knew that I wanted to use this Stella image (Bugaboo stamps) because she is perfect with the Dyan stamps. I then needed some inspiration and found the sketch on cardabilities and that was it. I used up some scrap paper from the kit and the ribbon. Stamped the sentiment on scrap paper and colored in Stella.. I splattered some perfect pearls mist (homemade) on the background, put it on some black paper and then to the card base. Easy peasy.

Sketch n Scrap 1st concert

I loved this sketch when I first saw it, my problem I really dislike doing Christmas layouts. I knew I didn't have any single photos that I could use as well. So how to adapt this to make it for multiple photos. I had some photos from Dalton's first concerts back in 2012 (actually I think his first concert was in 2011) and needed a sketch for them. So I made the circles all photos and moved the title to the image spot.

I think it turned out alright. I splattered a bunch of different shimmer sprays (2 homemade with perfect pearls) because I didn't want the paper plain black. The patterned paper is scraps from Bo Bunny (Mammarozzi) and Tim Holtz (from a paper pad). I used some washi tape and then some rub ons (by Crate Paper).

SnS Inspired By

It's time for the B Creative team at Sketch N Scrap. This months inspired by sketch was based on a layout by B Team member Cathy Martin.

Here is my layout about Dakota and I going to see the Lorax at the theatre.
I used all scrap Bo Bunny paper, some unknown buttons and then dylusions spray splattered in the two corners.

Here is the sketch by Kelly.

WCW for Scraptures

So last Tuesday (like the 2nd) I was perusing FB when I came across this card by Becky posted by one of the Scrapbook magazines that I follow on there (I can't remember which one). It was PERFECT for this months Scraptures card kit. I quickly put it together that evening.

The sentiment (not the same one), stickers and vintage lace tape by Maya Road are all in the kit. (yep I used the stickers)

I used one of my embossing folders and own buttons and twine. I just hand drew the lines for the "mistletoe".

Here is the inside of the card. To separate the sentiment like that I masked off the words I didn't want to stamp with clear tape and then used a piece of scrap paper to block them out as well (ink on the tape). I also added a Hero Arts sentiment stamp that I already owned.

I hope you are having fun with the card kit this month.

Few cards

Did a few cards this weekend. I had 2 that a co-worker requested I make, Christmas with a dog (Springer Spaniel) or paw prints. Well I printed some images offline, fussy cut the images and then made the cards. The insides of each both of paw prints on it somewhere.

The next two I got off pinterest and made them using what supplies I have. I used my gelatos to make the backgrounds..loved it..so much fun. :)

This one was originally by Tobi. I have copied her work before (always credited) because she is so creative and I follow her blog. I made 4 of this one.

This one is by Mou Saha and I found it on Pinterest. I made 2 of this one.

I also did a layout but you have to wait until the 10th to see that.

Scraptures WCW Dec 2

Monday night I was feeling creative but no creative juices were flowing..LOL I know does not make sense but I wanted to create but was feeling stumped. I also had the Wild Card Wednesday for Scraptures due so I needed to get something done. LOL
So I started looking on sketch blogs and I found a cool sketch on Mojo Monday that seemed to fit perfectly.

I used 2 sides of the polka dot/card paper and a piece of the jingle all the way paper.
Of course, a stamp from the Dyan Reaveley Christmas words, fit in perfectly.

I added some stickles to the ornaments 'cause we all know that a little glitter just adds the perfect touch. Right Shannon? ;)

Sketch N Scrap #70

Wow I can't believe it is December 1st already. Are you prepared for Christmas? We are not, but we already have ideas on what to get everyone. I am waiting on photos from my cousins for my Nana's present.

December first brings us a new layout for Sketch N Scrap. This one was done by Kelly and is pretty cool. I wasn't feeling my mojo too much the past couple of weeks and this layout ended up taking my about 20 minutes to do. Here is my take ..

here is the sketch..

I used an old piece of Basic Grey paper from the Hang 10 collection called Billabong. I did a layout years ago using the same paper. The other papers are from BG Clippings and Hipster lines. The stickers are from the Hipster line.

This month's sponsor is INSPIRED BY STAMPING. Be sure to visit them.

WCW Mini album

So my mini album for this months Scrapture's card kit. is almost complete, just have the cover left to do. Like I said before I just followed the instructions and just made do where I didn't have the same stuff. For the inca gold stuff I used Mustard seed distress ink. For the red stars and black arrows..I used stencils. It all turned out. If you look on the first page you can see a bit of where I did the stars and arrows on the wrong page.
Now you are probably wondering where the photos go in this album, they go on the back of each page.

I hope you did your mini album, I had fun making it.

Sketch N Scrap #69

If you are looking for my Sisterhood of Snarky stampers post please go here.

It is time for another sketch at Sketch N Scrap. This one is by Kelli and I had a great time creating this layout.
Here is the sketch..

Here is my take on  it..

The photos are from our tourist day at Niagara Falls. I believe the paper used is by Amy Tangerine. For the cameras I fussy cut them out from a sheet of patterned paper. Instead of corners I just added to the blue already in the corners with some dylusions spray.

Please take a moment to visit the Sketch N Scrap blog and see what the rest of the design team has created. Also if you upload your creation you could win a prize from this months sponsor Rainbows & Scrapbooks.

Sisterhood #21 P is for Profanity

If you are looking for my Sketch N Scrap layout please go here.

THERE IS FOUL LANGUAGE IN THIS CARD, IF YOU ARE OFFENDED PLEASE DO NOT READ!!

That being said, this weeks challenge is P for Profanity.

As you know our name is Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers and you really can't be surprised that we have a challenge with foul language. Of course we had to have a least one like this. Again if you are easily offended please do not go any further.

I used a old digital stamp that I have by Cheri aka Graphicat Stamps. She took a long hiatus and is now creating again, hopefully that means more of her brand of snarky stamps. I struggled a bit after that, I knew I wanted to use my bling shoe (which I colored with a red copic) and then ??? I decided to use Bo Bunny Welcome Home papers. Believe it or not, there is a house outline in the patterned paper. I had a couple of layouts that I tried but didn't like any of them, then saw Deconstructed Jen post this weeks sketch..that was it. The card came together quickly after that.
So with all that being said here is my P is for Profanity card.

Please be sure to check out the rest of the sisters to see what profanity they used. Remember you could be this weeks Queen or Princess of Snark.

WCW mini album week 2

This week I worked on pages 7 & 9 for the mini album included in this months Scraptures card kit. It was designed by Vicki Boutin and all the instructions are included.   I didn't change anything this time, the butterfly is different just because of the punched used.. They went together pretty quickly, the only delay is when I dropped my butterfly punch and broke it. Ran (drove) over to a friends and used hers.

Are you working on your mini album?

WCW mini Album week 1

Yep, I am back in the craft room. My wrist is healing, my sprained finger not so much. I have been super crazy at work as well, new job and another new one starts on Monday.
This months Scraptures card kit included a mini album and directions to complete it by Vicki Boutin. (Check her out.) For the most part I followed the directions exactly (sorry the photos are terrible, I forgot to take them yesterday so had to use my horrible indoor light.)

For page 2 I used Technique Tuesday "Just my Type" (I believe) that we had received in a kit a couple of years ago since we don't have the stamps that Vicki used. I also changed one of the small background papers to the opposite side because I liked it better. LOL
The back of page 2 I used the back of the paper again because I really did not like floral paper but the chevron is pretty cool.

The only difference on page 3 is the saying...I used what I was given. Instead of viva gold stuff I used mustard seed distress ink. I also used my own tape (orange of course).

back of page 3..no changes.

I will continue to work on this album for the remainder of the month. I hope you use yours as well.

Sketch N Scrap #68

Today is a busy blog post day...both Sketch n Scrap and Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers. So if you are looking for the Sisterhood post go here.

Another great sketch from Lisa at Sketch n Scrap for the first of the month. I had some fun with this sketch..

I used some photos again from 2011 and a day at the cottage. This was shortly after my friend got her little go cart and me my jeep. We spent a couple of days off-roading in both vehicles. This layout is featuring the go kart.  Dakota and my friends daughters had a blast riding around in it.

Please visit the Sketch N Scrap blog and see what the rest of the design team has done. Then show us your take on the sketch and link it up to win a prize from this months sponser.

"T" Thanks (.. for nothing)

If you are looking for the Sketch N Scrap post go here.
Halloween was last night and my daughter got alot of candy, even though it was raining. She had fun and her older brother took her around most of the night.

It's time for challenge #20. I can't believe that SoSS is at the 20th challenge. I know I have missed some along the way but the rest of the sisterhood are so understanding that sometimes it just doesn't happen.  What a great group of ladies.

I was struggling at first but since I know the lovely Dyan Reaveley is great at Snark I took inspiration from her stamp sets. I liked what this one said and then thought of this great "mad as a hatter" by simply b stamps. I am pretty happy with the way she turned out..although the color combination is not mine. I just used the colors from the website when I colored her in with my copic markers. I started using a sketch ( I believe a Deconstructing Jen 172) but that sort of went out the window although it was really inspirational and I guess looks like the sketch.

The inside says Thanks (for nothing).

Thanks for joining me. I hope you take the time to check out what the rest of the sisterhood came up with for this challenge. Make sure you link up your card to the blog for your chance to be Queen of the Snark. (Don't forget to read the rules, there are only a couple of them.)

Halloween or Orange card for SNS

I am so behind on my blog posts..this one is only 2 days late..not bad. I really was off schedule this month for sure..it does not help that my erasable design team calendar is still on Sept...sorry I did November. Since I tried to get everything for October done in September because of the wrist surgery I forgot to do the blog posts. UGH

Anyways for our final card of the month at SNS the B Creative team (that's the one I am on) had to do either a Halloween card or one where the main color is orange.

I used Sketch 25 from SnS for this card.. and pretty much all old supplies...the stamp is a Tim Holtz one.

We hope we have inspired you to play along with our fun card challenge!  Each Saturday for the month of October we will announce another card challenge. Please enter CARDS ONLY for these challenges (we will have our layout challenges in May for NSD!)  Each challenge gets you another entry into our drawing for a fabulous kit offered by our wonderful sponsor this month Scraptures Kit Club!!!   Just link up with all our other challenges in the side bar (don't forget to provide a link back to our blog when playing along!) to gain extra entries to win this scrumptious prize:

Remember to link up your project to SNS by October 30th (that way you won't be late).

SoSS #19

As I said in my post the other day I have just been crazy busy. I have also had no mojo but I had been a bad sister and not done the past couple of challenges (the last one I cheated and used an old card) so I needed to do one for this week.
Then they changed the challenge on me.. so it's a good thing I didn't work ahead like I planned on.

This weeks challenge is Hopeful Halloween. It is breast cancer awareness month so we kind of merged the two

I really wasn't feeling it but then used some of my Tim Holtz and Dyan Reaveley stamps and inks and markers and sprays (well you get my drift)..etc  I ended up making this tag.

Be sure to visit the Sisterhood and let them know what a great job they did.

Now I am off to bed because I am exhausted (although you will read this when I am at the bowling alley with the kids, well that is when it will be posted, so I have already been to sleep) see the benefits of scheduling a blog post...thought should have been done earlier...you get my drift, well probably not because I am not at the moment.

Good night...enjoy the hopeful halloween.

SNS #67

It has been a busy week. I started a new job on Tuesday and I don't have much time to sit down when I get home. I totally forgot to do my blog post in advance. UGH

This awesome mid-month sketch is by Kelly and I had fun with it.

I am still catching up on my layouts and these are from 2011 (I think) and our day in Niagara Falls as tourists. This is in front of the Hershey store ...yumm. I had to stand across the street to take the photo..the rest of the family is in the doorway.

I used Bo Bunny welcome home paper and my silhouette gems and irock..I think the letters are doodlebug and coloured with marker to get the colour I wanted.

This months sponsor at Sketch N Scrap is Scraptures (yippee) online kit club. Be sure to link up your project to Sketch N Scrap for your chance to win a kit from Scraptures. When you visit the Sketch n Scrap blog check out what the rest of the design team came up with, there are some really cool layouts.

World Card Making month?

Over at Sketch N Scrap they decided it should be world card making day. We were all challenged to make 2 cards based on what team we are on.
Our second in a month of card challenges is brought to you by Heather!  Heather's challenge is for you to create a card based for your favorite holiday!
I don't really have a favorite holiday to make cards for but since I was loving the card kit from Scraptures this month (who is our sponsor for the month) I decided to combine Hallowe'en and Valentine's day. I believe I used an earlier sketch from Sketch N Scrap.

Please play along with us and upload your card/layout to Sketch N Scrap. and you could win a kit from Scraptures Kit Club

SNS Inspired by Sketch

It's time for this months inspired by sketch. I was asked a couple of months ago if I had a layout that I had not posted on my blog. Well I did but none I wanted to share. LOL This one I did specifically for Kelly to design a sketch. Actually I did this layout based on a sketch I had dreamt about. The only thing is the journalling spot, it wasn't part of the original sketch but I think I had a small boo boo happen there so I covered it up. LOL

Here is the sketch from Kelly:

Here is my layout.
sorry for the glare on the photo

Be sure to visit Sketch n Scrap to see what the rest of the B Creative team came up with.

Don't forget our sponsor this month is Scraptures kit club, which if you are a follower you know that I usually do the card kit (and almost always get the scrapbook kit as well).

Sketch n Scrap #66

It's time for another sketch at Sketch N Scrap. I have to say I have been loving being on this design team and the sketches use more than 1 photo, which I just adore.
This months sketch is by Lisa and very cool. I just wish I had a sewing machine I could use instead of doing it by hand. LOL

Here is my take on the sketch..
These photos were taken when we played tourist on labour day weekend in 2011. Yes I am that far behind but only have about 3 layouts left to do since joining this design team.

I am so exited to say announce this:

Scraptures Wild card Wednesday

Okay I lied last week, THIS is my last week for a bit with the Scraptures card kit. Donna wasn't going to get the kit in time to do this week so I said I would do it.

It's a very cool kit and I love the stamp set and embellishments that came with it. I, as usual, used a sketch for this card..mojo monday365 (which I believe is the current one).
I used my distress markers to color the acorn  (not very happy with it should have just pulled out my copics) and the sentiment is one of the stickers from the  Simple Stories sticker sheet.

The only thing not from the kit, besides ink (and 1 is) is the background cardstock. I used 3 different pieces of the patterned paper, not like me at all to cut into a full sheet for 1/2".

Anyways next week you can see Donna's great work. Tomorrow I go in for the minor surgery on my right wrist so tonight will be finishing up some more design team stuff.

The Sisterhood of Snarky Stamper's First Annual Spectacular September Snark Off Blog Hop

So the sisters have teamed up with Rubber Dance to do our first blog hop. We all fell in love with the Sarcasm Superpower rubber stamp sheet and wanted to do a blog hop with them.
I don't know what saying each member of the team design decided to use so you will have to check them out at the Sisterhood blog.

I sprained my finger falling up the stairs the other day and couldn't color an image, no pen could be held comfortably, so I used a pre-colored image from Kenny K designs. The background is a dylusions 5x8 stencil "luscious leaves" and dusty concord distress ink. For the sentiment I used archival ink on vellum and heat set it, then added a gem to cover up the clear pop dot I used to adhere it to the image.

I actually like the simplicity of this card.

Remember to check out what the rest of the design team from SoSS and Rubber Dance have come up with.
