Graphicat Sketch 25

It's time for another Graphicat sketch challenge. Please check the blog to see if you were a winner with last weeks sketch. I hope you helped make a little girl happy on her first birthday without her dad. 

Here is this weeks Sketch. I actually liked it so much I made 2 cards with it..I can only show you one though as I am submitting the other to a magazine.

Actually only goes until May 13th.

I used DCWV paper and SS Awesome paper. The image is just from the internet. The decorative tape is really old Heidi Swap. The sentiment of course is from Cheri.

Simply Challenged and Sketchy

So I have been creative lately..which is unusual. LOL I coloured this image from Simple Betty facebook challenge. I am actually happy with the way she turned out. I also tried to keep the card with a bit of a Victorian edge to it. 

I am entering this card into the Simply B facebook challenge, the Simply Challenged challenges and the sketchy challenge.

I used Prima paper..almanac, maya road pins, SU embossing folder & stamp & Tim Holtz embossing folder (I think), unknown ribbons and a grunge rose I made myself. Image from Simple B. 

I have also done a couple of things for next months card kit on Scraptures...love them but can't show just yet. 

Graphicat Challenge

It's time for another challenge at Graphicat Challenges. This week Cheri asked us if we would do something special. She had read something (as did I) on the simply B facebook fanpage. 

Here is the post that moved us all...

quick story I met a wonderful lady through FB playing a game I no longer play. A friend via a friend kinda thing. Her name is Daylyn Michael and she is a fellow military spouse. Her husband Josh survived two Iraq deployments and was medically discharged due to brain trauma from 2 IED explosions. On November 15th 2012 , in Midland Tx, in a parade to honor veterans, a Union Pacific train slammed into the float carrying the 2 of them. He did not survive, Daylen survived without a scratch because her courageous husband threw her from the float so her children would not be orphans. She has asked her friends for a small favor their daughter is turning 8 on the 20th. Her first birthday without her dad. Daylen wants to make it special and all she is asking is that we flood her daughter with cards. Would anyone be willing to send her one? 

We all agreed to make it this weeks challenge. So we have all made a birthday card for this young girl. 

The sentiment is an a old one of Cheri's. 

This is the inside of the card, a new sentiment that Cheri just did.

I have been very delinquent about posting some layouts that I have done recently. I mainly used Pagemaps sketchs for them. I like the first two and not so much the third. These photos are all from 2010.

Graphicat Sketch Challenge

This week at the Graphicat Sketch Challenges it is free for all...use your favorite sketch and make a card or layout or art journal page. Since I was on vacation when sketch 24 was posted I didn't get to use it, so I did for this card. 

I was also suppose to use this Simply B stamp for Feb's challenge and was late with that so I have used it for this card. The sentiment is also one from Graphicat...it is a Christmas one but it called to me for this card. 

I also used Tim Holtz papers, Simple Stories paper, rabbit is by Penny Black.

SB & C T April sketch

I have been working on finishing my 2007 Disney album so I can get my 2010 album done. LOL Our 2013 trip will probably be a smash book so I can just do it quickly. This is killing me. 

I used the sketch from the Scrapbook and Cards today calendar. I pretty much copied the sample that Vicki Boutin completed. I am not happy with the hand drawn circles but otherwise I am happy with it.
